The purpose of this study is to establish the predictive method of the angular distortion caused by the line heating process with high frequency induction heating. In order to do it, the heat input model for the high frequency induction heating system was established through comparing the temperature evaluation results obtained by both FEA and experiment. The critical heating conditions to prevent the degradation of the work piece with various thicknesses were identified by FEA and microstructure test results. Under the critical heating conditions, the extensive line heating tests were performed. According to the test results, it was found that the angular distortion behavior of the heated plates could be defined as the function of heat intensity and the rigidity of heated plate. In addition, it was clarified that the angular distortion strongly depended on the size of test specimen such as the length and the width of the heated plate. Based on these results, the predictive equation for the angular distortion was established with the function of heat intensity, bending rigidity and size of heated plate.
The coil design of induction heating systems and their optimization are of paramount importance for semi-solid processing(SSP) The authors of this paper present the coil design and optimization of a 60 Hz induction heating system for ALTHIX 86S (Al-6%_Si-3%Cu-0.3%Mg) alloy. An objective function on the basis of the optimization process for the coil design is proposed by introducing an optimization technique. Finally the results of the optimal coil design are also applied to the induction heating process to obtain a fine globular microstructure. The proposed new objective function based on the computational techniques would contribute to obtaining the thixoformed components with good mechanical properties and reducing lead time.

Recently, the space organization of Korean-Chinese houses is different from that of other territories. The characteristics of eating and dinning space for Korean-Chinese Multi-family Housing are as follows ; ⅰ) The most obvious change in Korean-Chinese urban housing style was seen in kitchen space, which can be classify three types such as traditional type, improved type, and LDK type on the bases of heating and cooking method. ⅱ) Special feature of Korean-Chinese housing in Yanji city was that kitchen fulfilled important functions such as heating, cooking, dinning, sleeping, bathing and washing. Since then, each function was separated and functions of kitchen were cut down after all. iii) The arrangement of kitchen space have changeed according to the change of heating fuel, heating system, equipment, relatcd policy, etx. Multi-function kitchen discovered only in Yanji had lasted until 1980's by equipping heating floor system, which is suitable for sit-down living style. In 1990's, this kitchen style was prohibited legally, and the balcony area of kitchen widened due to the abolition of outdoor storehouse for foodstuff.
This study aimed at developing a down jacket prototype that utilized sunlight as an alternative energy source with no air pollution. The jacket is filled with flexible solar panels and has a heat-generating function and LED function. In this study, three smart down jacket prototypes were developed, and the jacket's capabilities were demonstrated through the thermal effect on the performance test. The typical output voltage of the flexible solar panels was 6.4V. By connecting the 2 solar cell modules in series, the final output voltage was 12.8V. A battery charge regulator module was used the KA 7809 (TO-220) of 9V. Three heating pads were to be inserted into the belly of the jacket as direct thermal heating elements, and the LED module was configured, separated by a flash and an indicator. The smart down jacket was designed to prevent damage to the down pack without the individual devices' interfering with the human body's motion. Because this study provides insulation from extreme cold with a purpose, the jacket was tested for heat insulation properties of non-heating, heating on the back, heating on the abdomen, and heating on both the back and abdomen in a sitting posture in a static state. Thermal property analysis results from examining the average skin temperature, core temperature, and the temperature and humidity within clothing showed, that placing a heating element in one place was more effective than distributing the heating elements in different locations. Heating on the back was the most effective for maintaining optimal skin temperature, core temperature, and humidity, whereas heating on the abdomen was not effective for maintaining optimal skin temperature, core temperature, or humidity within clothing because of the gap between the jacket and the body.

Computer simulations were conducted to demonstrate the generation of microwave-induced thermoacoustic signal. The simulations began with modelling an object with a biological tissue characteristic and irradiating it with a microwave pulse. The time-varying heating function data at every particular point on the illuminated object were obtained from absorbed electric field data from the simulation result. The thermoacoustic signal received at a point transducer at a particular distance from the object was generated by applying heating function data to the thermoacoustic equation. These simulations can be used as a foundation for understanding how thermoacoustic signal is generated and can be applied as a basis for thermoacoustic imaging simulations and experiments in future research.
Friction welding is a very useful joining process to weld metals which have axially symmetric cross section. In this paper, for the friction welding with tube-to-tube shape, the feasibility of industry application was determined using analyzing mechanical properties of weld and optimized welding variables was suggested. In order to accomplish this object, rotating speed, friction heating pressure, and friction heating time were selected as the major process variables and the experiment was performed in three levels of each parameter. Weld characteristic was investigated in terms of weld shape and metal loss, and 7mm of metal loss was regarded as the optimal metal loss. By tensile test, tensile strength and yielding strength was measured and fracture was occurred at base metal. In order to optimize the welding condition, fitness function was defined with respect to metal loss and yielding strength and the fitness values for each welding condition could be calculated in experimental range. Consequently, we set the optimal welding condition as the point which had maximum value of fitness function. As the result of this paper the optimal welding variables could be suggested as rotating speed was 1300 rpm, friction heating pressure was 15 MPa, and friction heating time was 10 sec.
The influence from the increased income and aging society has amplified the interest in the well-being trend and health. People tend to enjoy sports and outdoor life. The development of smart clothing containing heating function to help maintain body temperature has been actively researched after the mid 2000s. However, the domestic study on heating clothing is severely limited. Practical study on designing heating clothing which can be commercialized is needed. The purpose of this study is to develop a commercialized detachable heating vest design through collaboration with a heating vest manufacturer. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Conducted the interview with manufacturer and a demand survey with consumers in order to develop the heating vest design. 2) Developed heating vest design that reflected the wants in the demand survey and sketched the prototype of detachable heating vest. 3) Made a sample of the heating vest and tested the wearability to illustrate the result of this study. Overall, the wearing test result showed high satisfaction for both gender.
A control system for an automated line heating process is developed by use of object-oriented methodology. The main function of the control system is to provide real-time heating information to technicians or automated machines. The information includes heating location, torch speed, heating order, and others. The system development is achieved by following the five steps in the object-oriented procedure. First, requirements are specified and corresponding objects are determined. Then, the analysis, design, and implementation of the proposed system are sequentially carried out. The system consists of six subsystems, or modules. These are (1) the inference module with an artificial neural network algorithm, (2) the analysis module with the Finite Element Method and kinematics analysis, (3) the data access module to store and retrieve the forming information, (4) the communication module, (5) the display module, and (6) the measurement module. The system is useful, irrespective of the heating sources, i.e. flame/gas, laser, or high frequency induction heating. A newly developed automated line heating machine is connected to the proposed system. Experiments and discussions follow.
This is to report the result of Development of Single effect/Double lift absorption chiller & heater which is used in the district heating net work. The heating cycle was newly developed to make the secondary hot water from evaporator and the cycle change-over function was added for the heating to the cooling mode and the cooling to the heating mode. Finally, it was assured through the site trial operation that the outlet temperature of primary hot water can be produced lower than $68^{\circ}C$ when the outlet temperature of secondary hot water is $60^{\circ}C$.
