  • A mathematical model of electro-thermoelasticity subjected to memory-dependent derivative (MDD) heat conduction law is applied to a one-dimensional problem of a thermoelectric spherical cavity exposed to a warm stun that is an element of time in the presence of a uniform magnetic field. Utilizing Laplace transform as an instrument, the issue has been fathomed logically within the changed space. Numerical inversion of the Laplace transform is carried for the considered distributions and represented graphically. Some comparisons are shown in the figures to estimate the effects of MDD parameters and thermoelectric properties on the behavior of all considered fields.

  • In this paper, the deformation method for inner and outer races of rollr-bearing bymeans of the warm precision forging is investigated. We adapted the process designsuch as following that, toincrease Die life, reduce heat transfer through conduction and the eccentricity of preform in warm forging of bearing gace, the bottom portion of billet is formed during upsetting process. Then it is backward extruded, and thus obtained ring preform is formed by combined extrusion. Also, we compared it with the froming method in China and Japan, and we have known it is more excellent method. Basides, this forming method is simulated by UBST which is based on the merits of UBET nd FEM. The results show that it is easy to know the exact location of neutral surface through the inspection of streamline during combined extrusion, and the velocity vector distribution along the surface of velocity discontinuity is investigationed. Also the effectiveness of this method is proved by te experiment using model material that is Plasticine.

  • This Paper Presents the optimized design of micro-heaters using 501(Si-on-insulator) substrate and oxide-filled trench structure In order to justify a lumped model approximation and thermal boundary assumptions, two-dimensional FDM(finite difference among which conduction is the dominant heat dissipation path. Compared with no-trenchs on the SOI structure, the micro-heaters with trench structures has properties of low heater loss and good thermal isolation. The simulation results show that the heater loss decreases as the number. width and distance of trenchs increases.

  • As the OLED industry develops, display equipment is becoming larger. As a result, the stage required for display equipment is getting bigger. This enlargement led to increase in OLED production and industrial development. However, due to the large scale of the stage, other problems due to overheating and overheating caused by heavy load on the linear motor, which is mainly used in the stage, must be solved. In this study, a linear motor equipped with a cooling channel is modeled and the three - dimensional heat conduction flow analysis for this model is simulated using Fluent to analyze the cooling efficiency and cooling efficiency according to the cooling water flow rate. As a result, the cooling channel was effective and the cooling effect and efficiency were the best when the flow rate was about 5 ~ 10 L./min. In addition, the cooling effect is increased when the flow rate is increased, but the efficiency is significantly lowered when the flow rate is more than the predetermined value.

  • In the present study, thermoelsatoplastic stresses and displacement for rotating hollow disks made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) has been investigated. The linear elastic-fully plastic condition is considered. The material properties except Poisson's ratio are assumed to vary in the radial direction as a power-law function. The heat conduction equation for the one-dimensional problem in cylindrical coordinates is used to obtain temperature distribution in the disk. The plastic model is based on the Tresca yield criterion and its associated flow rules under the assumption of perfectly plastic material behavior. Exact solutions of field equations for elastic and plastic deformations are obtained. It is shown that the elastoplastic response of the functionally graded (FG) disk is affected notably by the radial variation of material properties. It is also shown that, depending on material properties and disk dimensions, different modes of plastic deformation may occur.

  • A numerical solution of temperature and thermally induced stress in a wafer during rapid thermal processing (R.T.P) is obtained, and an analysis of onset and propagation of slip is performed and compared with experiment. In order to calculate temperature distribution of a wafer in R.T.P system, heat conduction equation that incorporated with radiative and convective heat transfer model is solved, and the solution of the equation is calculated numerically using alternating direction implicit (A.D.I) method. In dealing with radiative heat transfer, a partially transparent body that absorbs the radiation energy is assumed and this transparent body undergoes multiple internal reflections and absorptions. Two dimensional (assuming plane stress) thermoelastic constitutive equation is used to calculate thermal stress induced in a wafer and finite element method is employed to solve the equation numerically. The stress resolved in the slip directions on the slip planes of silicon is compared with the yield stress of silicon in order to predict the slip. The result of the analysis shows that the wafer temperature at which slip occurs is affected by the heating rate of the R.T.P system. It is observed that once slip occurs in the wafer, the slip grows.

  • In general, a reinforced concrete slabs are known to have a high fire resistance performance due to thermal properties of concrete materials. However, according to previous research, the thermal behavior of voided slabs is reported to be different from that of conventional RC solid slabs, and the differences seem to be caused by the air layer formed inside the voided slab. Therefore, it is difficult to estimate the temperature distribution of the voided slab under fire by using the existing methods that do not take into account the air layer inside the voided slab. In this study, a numerical analysis model was proposed to estimate the temperature distribution of voided slabs under fire, and evaluated. Heat transfer of slabs under fire is generally caused by conduction, convection and radiation, and time-dependent temperature changes of slab can be determined considering these phenomena. This study proposed a numerical method to estimate the temperature distribution of voided slabs under fire based on a finite difference method in which a cross-section of the slab is divided into a number of layers. This method is also developed to allow consideration of heat transfer through convection and radiation in air layer inside of slabs. In addition, the proposed model was also validated by comparison with the experimental results, and the results showed that the proposed model appropriately predicts the temperature distribution of voided slabs under fire.

  • Analysis of drying characteristics has been carried out with one-dimensional model in the dryer using the principle of the refraction of radiation. The dryer is composed of hot water tank, plastic film conveyer belt, drying material, etc. The model considers the con-duction and radiation within the plastic film and drying material. The film is semitransparent to radiation and the drying material is assumed to be semitransparent or opaque to radiation. The results show that the effect of radiative transfer on the drying rate is relatively large when the thickness of drying material is small and the water temperature is high. When the material is thin, the drying rate due to conduction is also enhanced and the drying time can considerably be reduced.

  • A two-dimensional numerical model is developed and applied to the LAVA-EXV tests performed at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) to investigate the external cooling effect on the thermal margin to failure of a reactor pressure vessel (RPV) during a severe accident. The computational program was written to predict the temperature profile of a two-dimensional spherical vessel segment accounting for the conjugate heat transfer mechanisms of conduction through the debris and the vessel, natural convection within the molten debris pool, and the possible ablation of the vessel wall in contact with the high temperature melt. Results of the sensitivity analysis and comparison with the LAVA-EXV test data indicated that the developed computational tool carries a high potential for simulating the thermal behavior of the RPV during a core melt relocation accident. It is concluded that the main factors affecting the RPV failure are the natural convection within the debris pool and the ablation of the metal vessel, The simplistic natural convection model adopted in the computational program partly made up for the absence of the mechanistic momentum consideration in this study. Uncertainties in the prediction will be reduced when the natural convection and ablation phenomena are more rigorously dealt with in the code, and if more accurate initial and time-dependent conditions are supplied from the test in terms of material composition and its associated thermophysical properties.
