As a power transmission line supplying power to a densely populated city, the high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable is expected to one of the most effective cables with a compact size because of its high current density. The verification of HTS power cable system have been progressed by KEPRI. A cooling system for a 3-phase 100m HTS power cable with 22.9kV/1.25kA was installed and tested at KEPCO's Gochang power testing center in Korea. The system consists of a liquid nitrogen decompression cooling system with a cooling capacity of 3kW and a closed circulation system of subcooled liquid nitrogen. Several performance tests of the cable system with respect to the cooling such as cooling capacity, heat load and temperature stability, were performed at several temperatures. Thermal cycle test, cool-down to liquid nitrogen temperature and warm-up to room temperature, was also performed to investigate thermal cycle influences. The outline of the installed cooling system and performance test results are presented in this paper.
A novel composite (Ag-CNT/$TiO_2$) of silver treated carbon nanotubes (Ag-CNT) and $TiO_2$ was synthesized via wet chemistry followed by a heat treatment. The dispersion and structure of the silver in the synthesized composites determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). XRD patterns of the composites showed that the composites contained a mixing anatase and rutile phase. The EDX spectra showed the presence of C, O, Ti and Ag peaks. The $TiO_2$ particles were distributed uniformly in the CNT network, and silver particles were virtually fixed on the surface of the tube. The photocatalysis degraded behaviors of the Ag-CNT/$TiO_2$ composites of the methylene blue, which increased with an increase of the silver component. The Ag-CNT/$TiO_2$ composites have excellent antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli (E. Coli), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. Aeru) and Bacillus subtilis (B. Sub) under visible light.
In this work, a carbon-doped carbon nitride photocatalyst is successfully synthesized through a simple centrifugal spinning method after heat treatment. The morphology and properties of the prepared photo catalyst are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-vis spectrophotometer (UV-vis), and specific surface area. The results show that the band gap of the prepared sample, g-CN-10 is 2.1 eV, is significantly lower than that of pure carbon nitride, 2.7 eV. As the amount of cotton candy increased, the absorption capacity of the prepared catalyst for visible light is significantly enhanced. In addition, the degradation efficiency of Rhodamine B (RhB) by sample g-CN-10 is 98.8 % over 2 h, which is twice that value of pure carbon nitride. The enhancement of photocatalytic ability is attributed to the increase of specific surface area after the carbon doping modifies carbon nitride. A possible photocatalytic degradation mechanism of carbon-doped carbon nitride is also suggested.

Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays have promising potential to replace liquid crystal displays (LCDs) due to their advantages of low power consumption, fast response time, broad viewing angle and flexibility. Organic light emitting materials are vulnerable to moisture and oxygen, so inorganic thin films are required for barrier substrates and encapsulations.[1-2]. In this work, the silicon-based inorganic thin films are deposited on plastic substrates by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) at low temperature. It is necessary to deposit thin film at low temperature. Because the heat gives damage to flexible plastic substrates. As one of the transparent diffusion barrier materials, silicon oxides have been investigated. $SiO_x$ have less toxic, so it is one of the more widely examined materials as a diffusion barrier in addition to the dielectric materials in solid-state electronics [3-4]. The $SiO_x$ thin films are deposited by a PECVD process in low temperature below $100^{\circ}C$. Water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) was determined by a calcium resistance test, and the rate less than $10.^{-2}g/m^2{\cdot}day$ was achieved. And then, flexibility of the film was also evaluated.

This study investigated the bath compositions and plating conditions and crystal structure used for achieving nickel-thallium-phosphorus deposits by means electroless plating. The electroless nickel-thallium-phosphorus deposits were achieved with a bath using sodium hypophosphite as the reducing agent and sodium citrate as the complexing agent. The depositing rate was 10.5mg.$cm^{2-1}$ .$hr^{-1 }$ from the optimistic bath composition, 0.1M nickel sulfate, 0.005M thallium sulfate, 0.2M sodium hypophosphite, and 0.05M sodium citrat and the recommended plating conditions, pH 5.5 and $90^{\circ}C$. The composition of alloy deposits determined by X-ray analysis (EDS) that the Thallium was increased with major increasing concentration of complexing agent and thallium ion in bath solution, it decreased according to the increasing concentrations of reduction agent in the bath solution, Bit Phosphorus showed a contrary to the thallium. It was observed from X-ray diffraction analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy. The crystalline structure of deposits was amorphous at the first deposited state but it was changed $Ni-T1-Ni_{5}$$P_2$ polycrystalline when subjected to 1 hour heat treatment of more than $350^{\circ}C$. TEM observation demonstrated that the microstructure was identical to the result of the XRD at as deposited but it became $Ni-Tl-Ni_{5}$$P_2$ polycrystalline when heated. And grain size was 10-50nm.
Nanocomposite of Au doped ZrO$_2$ films was prepared, which could be used as non-linear optic materials, selective absorption and transmission films. After heat treatment of prepared thin film by dip-coating method, the characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, UV-VIS Spectrometer, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Film thickness was about 150 nm, the Au particle size was 15~35 nm. The thin film had a smooth surface roughness about 1.06 nm. Nonlinearity optics was found that films showed absorption peak at 600~650 nm visible region by plasma resonance of Au metal particles.
In order to fabricate the translucent electrooptic ceramics which are comparable to PLZT, $PNZT^*$ has been prepared from aqueous solutions of their itrate and chlorides. In the quarternary $Pb^{1-x} Nd_x(Zr_{0.63} Ti_{0.37})^{1-\frac{x}{4}O_3$, (PNZT) $(0.02\le x\ge 0.12)$ system cold-pressed PNZT slugs were sintered in $O_2$ in pt-crucible for 45 min. at 118$0^{\circ}C$ and were then heat-treated in air for 60 hrs. at 120$0^{\circ}C$ in Al2O3 crucibles containing $PbZrO_3$ powder to control the atmosphere. Mean particle size of calcined PNZT powders was 0.1~0.15${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. It was found that the maximum value of optical transmission has been revealed at 6~8 at. % $Nd_2O_3$ added body and that their dielectric constant has been decreased as the frequency increased. Curic temperature has been varied inversely with $Nd^{3+}$ ion content up to 8 at. % and become constant above this value. $^*Pb_{1-x}Nd_x(Zr_{0.63} Ti_{0.37})_{1-2/4}O_3$
SrAl$_2$O$_4$ powder was prepared by polymerized complex method and its nucleation was observed at different temperatures and times. Problems of inhomogeneity and high synthesis temperature induced by solid state reaction could be solved by using polymeric precursors. The process of decomposition by heat treatment above 40$0^{\circ}C$ was observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and elemental analyzer. Crystallization of SrAl$_2$O$_4$ occured at about 90$0^{\circ}C$ and its crystalline size. which was determined by using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD). was about 30∼50 nm.
Amophization and decomposition behaviour in $Mg_{62}Cu_{26}Y_{12}$ alloy prepared by melt spinning method and wedge type metal mold casting method have been investigated by a detailed transmission electron microscopy. Amorphous phase has formed in melt-spun ribbon. In the case of the wedge type specimen, however, the amorphous phase has formed only around the tip area within about 2 mm thickness. The remaining part of the wedge type specimen consists of crystalline phases, $Mg_{2}Cu\;and\;Cu_{2}Y$. The supercooling for crystallization behaviour of the amorphous $Mg_{62}Cu_{26}Y_{12}$ alloy, ${\Delta}T_x$ has been measured to be about 60 K. Such a large undercooling of the crystallization bahaviour enables formation of the amorphous phase in the $Mg_{62}Cu_{26}Y_{12}$ alloy under the cooling rate of $10^{2}K/s$. The amorphous $Mg_{62}Cu_{26}Y_{12}$ has decomposed into crystalline phases, $Mg_{2}Cu\;and\;Cu_{2}Y$ after heat treatment at $170^{\circ}C\;and\;250^{\circ}C$.
The ultrastructure of damaged hair shaft from blow-drying at typical temperature $40{\sim}170^{\circ}C$ for daily beautiful face have been investigated by using transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. When we used to hair dryer for a long time in our everyday life, the following morphological alternations were found in hair. First, the partial of scales in outer cuticle were detached simultaneously with separation of intercellular membrane complex of cuticle cells. Then hair broke cuticle off and exposed to cortex. Secondly, the cortical cell in the cortex was fissured into its macrofibril. The melanin granules were scattered between macrofibrils. As a result, I confirmed that blow-drying removed the hair's bonded water and made hard on hair which lost elasticity. After all, hair showed irregular, rough surface and vanished its luster.
