The difference of health-welfare-medical service needs among characteristics(age, medical security, caregiver existence, and regions) was statistically significant by service contents(p<0.05 or p<0.01). Conclusion: We can apply it in the distribution of community resource and the development of service providing programs by figure out the needs assessment for the long-term care elderly in the community, and consequently, through this, realizing the health maintenance and promotion of the long-term care elderly.
The major purpose of this study was to identify the differences in priorities of nutrition service needs between the service provider and consumers (general population). Identification of the personal characteristics which influence the priorities of nutrition service needs among the general population was also examined. An interview survey using a questionnaire was conducted to collect the data required for analysis. The questionnaire included the priorities of various nutrition service needs as well as the personal characteristics of the study subjects. The study subjects were 300 residents over 40 years of age, and 15 health workers representing health center service personnel in Kyounggi province. Wilcoxon Rank Sums test were adopted to analize the differences in priority between the service providers and consumers. The results showed that priority of nutrition service needs for provider were significantly different from that of consumer. Gender, age, family type, and education levels of the population were the significant factors affecting the differences in priorities for nutrition service needs among consumers (general population). Out of the results, it could be suggested that consumers need should be considered in developing nutrition services to promote nutrition services utilization in health centers. The results may also suggest that one of the causes for the low utilization rate of nutrition services in health centers was the provider oriented program development regardless of the needs of consumers.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the health service delivery level and educational needs by work experiences and types of public health center among the nurses who work as visiting health services workers at public health centers. Methods: Data collected from 484 nursing staff for 2 weeks, was analyzed using the SPSS program t-test, ANOVA, and Spearman Rank-Order Correlation. Nurses with more than 2 years experience were 79.1%; and 43.6% of the subjects worked within Gun type public health centers. Results: The health service performance frequency of metropolitan city type public health centers was significantly high in the areas of education, behavior pattern, chronic disease, pregnant women & infants, and multi-cultural family. The health service performance frequency of Gun type public health centers was significantly high in the areas of type of test, fundamental nursing, and basic rehabilitation. In addition, the correlation between the performance frequency and educational needs was positively correlated, and the subjects with greater educational needs performed more. Conclusion: Educational programs should be designed according to the types of public health centers rather than work experiences, especially in systematic training for frequently performed items after reviewing the practice precisely.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of the senior welfare center users of the health service program, and to establish a plan to adjust the health service functions of the senior center. Purpose: This research was conducted to identify long-term care service needs in the baby boom generation. Methods: Data were collected from September 3 to October 9, 2012 targeting 196 baby boomers residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do with the measurement of long-term care service needs having five domains. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 program. Results: Demand for long term care service in those who preferred nursing homes was highest as $4.40{\pm}0.69$ in the safe environment domain. In case of those preferring home care services, demand was highest as $4.37{\pm}0.56$ in the social interaction domain. People who preferred nursing homes had higher needs in personal health care and improvement of the service quality domains. Those who preferred home care services showed diverse needs according to their characteristics. Conclusion: The baby boom generation had high needs in all the domains of long-term care services and such needs were diverse according to their characteristics. However, long-term care services had limitations that they provided standardized and uniformed services only. Therefore, health care services and improved quality services should be provided in a way of meeting the users' needs, and tailored services should be provided in consideration of the users' characteristics.
Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the types of unmet health care needs of the elderly and factors affecting them. Methods : This study used data from the 2012 Community Health Survey. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the relevance between each type of unmet health care needs and predisposing, enabling, and needs factors, based on the cases without unmet health care needs. Results : Persons with unmet health care needs were 4,460 (9.5%) of the total sample. By types of unmet health care needs, 1,171 (2.5%), 1,026 (2.2%), and 2,263 (4.8%) persons reported inaccessibility, non-accommodativeness, and unaffordability respectively. It was concluded that the there were differences in the associated factors according to the types of unmet medical needs. Conclusions : It is suggested that unmet health care needs in the elderly should be examined from diverse angles rather than from a single aspect of partial limits. In particular, diverse types of unmet health care needs for health care in the elderly according to limited accommodation shoulder be examined. Finally, strategies to decrease unmet health care needs that reflect the associated factors should be developed.
In the process of devising an efficient meal service system for the elderly, 478 elderly were interviewed at 6 different social centers with the elderly meal service program in Seoul area to monitor degree of satisfaction and/or needs of the beneficiaries regarding the program. The survey was conducted during the month of December 2002 by well-trained interviewers using self-developed questionnaire. Results were analyzed statistically using SAS package program. Most of the beneficiaries were low economic class and 76% of them had doctor diagnosed disease(s). Among the beneficiaries of congregate meal service, mean score of 12 aspects of satisfaction was 3.72 out of 5. For most of the questions, female elderly and healthy elderly responded with higher score than male elderly and unhealthy elderly, respectively (p<0.05, p<0.01). On the other hand, beneficiaries of the home-delivered meal service were little bit less satisfied with the service (3.54 out of 5). Compared to the beneficiaries of congregate meal service, larger portion of beneficiaries of home-delivered meal service wanted more meats (28.5 % vs. 17.1 %) and vegetables (23.2 % vs. 12.3 %) as side dishes. On the other hand, the most preferred type of cooking and/or seasoning was stewing for both cases. Based on these findings, it is suggested that more fresh foods should be used than processed foods in the preparation of meals for the elderly and, more fish-, meat- and vegetable- dishes should be served to come up to the needs of the elderly. Onto this, mainly Korean style meals with some intermittent Western, Japanese or Chinese style meals served at the right temperature would suffice most of the elderly needs.
