Purpose: The study evaluated the effectiveness of health promotion program on the physical fitness and quality of life of elderly women receiving home visiting health care services. Methods: There were 122 elderly women participants. The data were collected between March and December 2019. The participants were provided with the 36-weeks health promotion program consisting of health education, such as nutrition, depression, urinary incontinence, fall, oral care, and exercises, such as stretching, weight-bearing exercise, and elastic resistance training. The balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and quality of life were measured before and after the program. The results were analyzed with paired t-test using the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Results: The dynamic balance, muscle strength, flexibility significantly increased. Conclusion: The health promotion program positively affected elderly women in terms of physical fitness, but there are limitations to increasing the quality of life of elderly women. Through this study, it is necessary to be supplemented in improving quality of life of elderly women.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health promotion services in rural areas and factors influencing this service. Method: From March to April, 2007, a structured questionnaire on services in 2006 was used to collect data from community health practitioners in all of the Primary Health Care Posts (PHCP) in North Chungchong Province. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 Win program. Results: The most frequently offered programs were health gymnastics, walking exercise, bathing and vaccination service, and hypertension management. The main obstacles to these health services were lack of adequate space, insufficient budget, and overwork. The most frequently offered health education programs were education on hypertension, exercise, diabetes, volunteer work, and smoking cessation. The main obstacles to health education were lack of adequate space, insufficient education materials and equipment, and lack of cooperation from the citizens. Improvement and reinforcement of health promotion programs should include support of specialist, development of appropriate methods of service delivery, and education materials, and increase ease in using community resources. Conclusions: The research results show that a new model of health promotion must be developed for efficient health promotion programs in rural PHCP.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the domestic research trends in health education published in journals and dissertations, and to provide recommendations for quality improvement. Methods: 277 papers published from 1960 to 2009 were reviewed using criteria of analysis. The results were displayed as frequencies and percentages. Results: The contents of the health education were very poor compared with the Health Promotion Act. In health education program developing and evaluation process, papers on the assessment stage occupied the largest portion. In research methodology; the survey study, school field, the questionnaire research tool and inferential statistics were the most applied. Master theses were the largest number. Conclusions: This review suggests that the published papers, in some instances, have been poorly done. However, this study may provide future guidelines for health education research, and it is hoped that higher level research can be accomplished.
The purposes of this research were to understand the realities of health management and to analyze the subjective, functional, psychological, and social health effects of the application of an exercise and education program to manage health on an elderly population residing in an agricultural community. The specific purposes of this research were: 1. to determine the subjective, functional, psychological health conditions, and performance level of instrumental activities of daily living of both the experimental and control groups before introducing a health management program, and then 2. to compare these with both the experimental and control groups' subjective, functional, psychological health condition and performance level of instrumental activities of daily living after applying the health management program. The health management program was introduced to the experimental group (50 people) but not to the control group (50 people). The health management program was composed of a health exercise program and a health education program. A comparative study of subjective health conditions was done to examine the effect of the health management program and the characteristics of health related variables before and after the program application. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of health promotion program on healthy aging preparation for late middle aged women. Methods: The research design was a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental study. Participants were recruited from K and Y cities in Gyeong-nam Province from October, 2013 to January, 2014. They were 26 for the experimental group and 31 for the control group. The experimental group participated in a health promotion program for healthy aging preparation. The program consisted of education, exercise, and small group discussion over 8 weeks. Data were analyzed by Chi-square, t-test and ANCOVA, using the PASW 18.0 program. Results: There were significant improvements in aging anxiety and general self-efficacy, health promoting behaviors in the experimental group compared to those of the control group. However, there was no significant differences in attitude toward older adults between the two groups. Conclusion: The health promotion program on healthy aging preparation for late middle aged women was found to be effective in enhancing aging anxiety and self-efficacy, and health promoting behavior. Thus, the developed program is recommended for use in clinical practice as an effective nursing intervention for late middle aged women in order to keep up with their health in later life.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to verify the validity of the evaluation indicators on safety and health education programs provided to Korean industrial workers, by developing further. Methods: To develop the early evaluation indicator, the secondary analysis was made on 'Survey on Industrial safety & health trends', the national wide survey data product by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency, as well as the various examinations on literatures. To validate such developed evaluation indicator, 13 safety and health managers in Focus Group discussion to prove the reliability of the contents were composed. To confirm the face validity, the interview with 6 industrial safety and health education experts was held to study the appropriateness of the content. With the cooperation from Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency, the structured survey was performed with the safety and health managers from 588 businesses who participated in the education program for the later half of 2006. In this study, the number of responses was randomly divided into 1:1 two groups, in which one group was for the Exploratory Factor Analysis and the other group was for the Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Results: The results were as follows. First, for the Structure category, 18 evaluation indicators were developed into 4 evaluation categories such as a preliminary examination, education staff and organization, education environment and rules/ regulation. Secondly, the Activity category was comprised of 10 evaluation indicators with respect to 2 areas of curriculum satisfaction and program evaluation. Finally, for the Output category, 9 evaluation indicators were developed into 2 evaluation areas such as documentation and information share and education effects. Conclusions: The evaluation indicators developed through this study will possibly develop and be applied to evaluation tools on safety and health education program, which may further become the standardized indicators to better operate the industrial safety and health education programs.

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of 'village health worker training program' which aimed to build community participatory health promotion capacity of community leaders in villages of low developed country and to develop methods for further development of the program. Methods : The intervention group were 134 community leaders from 25 barangays (village). Control group were 149 form 4 barangays. Intervention group participated 3-day training program. Questionnaire was developed based on 'Health Promotion Capacity Checklist' which assessed capacity in 4 feathers; 'knowledge', 'skill', 'commitment', and 'resource'. Each feather was assessed in 4 point rating scale. Capacity scores between intervention group and control group were examined to identify changes between the pre- and post-intervention periods. A qualitative evaluation of the program was conducted to assess the appropriateness of the program. The program was conducted in Tuguegarao city, Philippine in January, 2009. Results : The result showed significant increases in the total health promotion capacity and each feather of health promotion capacities between pre and post assessment of intervention group. But there was no significant change in that of control group. Participants marked high level of satisfaction for preparedness, selection of main subjects and education method. Qualitative evaluation revealed that training program facilitated community participatory health promotion capacity of participants. Conclusions : This study suggested that the Village health worker training program is effective for building health promotion capacity of community leaders and it can be a main method for helping low developed countries with further development.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop of the Health Promotion Program for the Auxiliary Police based on PRECEDE model. Methods: The data were collected from the Auxiliary Police officer in the D provincial Police Agency. The program was developed through analysis of literature review, analysis on the Auxiliary Police's demand through in-depth interview, and the content validation by an expert group. Results: The program consists group education sessions (7 times, 90 minutes each) for 5 weeks. The program also reflects the concept of quality of life, health promotion behavior, self-efficacy and health knowledge, social support, and availability of resources which are important factors for assessment through PRECEDE. Conclusion: The results may be crucial to develop strategy in order to decrease the disease prevalence as well as increase the participants' overall quality of life of Auxiliary Police. This is proposed to standardize the Health Promotion Program for the Auxiliary Police.
This study analyzes how health education program affect elderly's health knowledge, behavior and health state. Also purposes of this program are to have healthy lifestyle and change health behavior to improve life. The subject of study was over 60 years old 175 persons, which include 89 persons of experience group and 86 persons from social well-being center in seoul. The data was collected by measurement of knowledge, behavior on health. The pre-research was performed before health education and post-research was performed immediately after the education. Collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS win 11.0. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The health knowledge points of experience group improved than the control group's and there is statistically significant difference. 2. The health behavior points of experience group were higher than the control group's and the difference was statistically significant. 3. The perceived health state of experience group was better than the control group's and the difference was statistically significant. 4. There are correlations among knowledge, behavior and perceived health state: Knowledge and behavior are positively correlated and behavior and perceived health state have a positive correlation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate Seoul teacher's satisfaction with and needs for health examination and health promotion programs. Methods: The participants were 3,186 teachers in Seoul. Data were collected through an on-line survey system from November 16 to December 7, 2008. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe's test using PASW 18.0 program. Results: Teacher's satisfaction with teacher health examination was low and needs for detailed tests of cancer and vocal cord disorders were high. Teacher's satisfaction with teacher health promotion programs was low and needs for stress management, exercise and vocal cord protection program were high. Conclusion: Vocal cord disorders should be included in teacher health examination and vocal cord protection program should be provided for teacher's health promotion. Stress management and exercise program should also be provided for teacher's health promotion.
