Method : We reviewed the existing medical books containing Yangseng contents. Based on the experts' consensus, we drew the new category system of Yangseng in consideration of a national trait of Korea and use of Yanseng in modern society. Results : First, We devided Yangseng category into two parts: methods and applications. Methods are divided into 5 parts: mind, diet, herb, Doinangyo(導引按蹻), life. A broad use of herbs in daily life is a national trait of Korea. Doinangyo contains relaxation methods like breathing, massages and exercises like Qigong and is also very popular way to maintain health in modern western society. Applications are divided into 6 parts: type of constitution, life cycle, seasons, type of symptoms and signs, type of Mibyung(未病) and diseases. We drew this 6 parts in consideration of use in the field of health care. • The research method of 'the grafing I-ching(周易) and oriental medicine'(醫易會通) has been handed down for more than 2000 years to interpret the theory of the medicine by using the system of the ideology and the category of I-ching(周易). Many skillful doctors form the past have developed and advanced the oriental medicine by studying the 'the grafing I-ching(周易) and oriental medicine'(醫易會通) and wrote many theories and had experiment on clinical studies. From many theories of 'the grafing I-ching(周易) and oriental medicine'(醫易會通), I believe using the ideology and the category of eight trigrams(八卦) system to study the internal organs(臟腑) has a great importance. For eight trigrams(八卦) is the nucleus or the basic of I-ching(周易) and the internal organs (臟腑) are the main system of the body. Therefore grafting eight trigrams(八卦) and the internal organs (臟腑) theory has a meaning of grafting I-ching(周易) and the main point of the oriental medicine. But the uncertainties of the theories between doctors still exists and there's no unified theories in matching eight trigrams(八卦) and the internal organs(臟腑). This tells us that the most important part of the 'the grafing I-ching(周易) and oriental medicine'(醫易會通) theory is not logically organized. Therefore the author realized the necessity of the study about grafting eight trigrams(八卦) and the intimal organs (臟腑) theory, Also in order to confirm the significance of the result of the research, first of all there needs to be a research that applies it to the meathod of the mental cultivation(精神養生法), Health preservation(養生) is the basic idea of the oriental medicine and among health preservation(養生), the meathod of the mental cultivation(精神養生法) is most important.

  • After examining the viewpoints of the mental cultivation of The yellow Emperor's Internal Bible(內徑), from the viewpoints of The yellow Emperor's Internal Bible, I studied the principles and methods of the mental cultivation(精神養生) which the Taoism School, the Confusian School and the past physicians proposed. And I studied the methods of mental cultivation of the child, the woman and the old by the differences of ages and sex. At the subject of health preservation(養生學) on the basis of concept of relevant adaptation of man to nature(天人相應思想), the mental cultivation(精神養生) was regard more important than the body cultivation(肉體養生) and it was considered that the success of health preservation depended on the state of mind. the basic principles of the mental cultivation is achivement of the mental internal keeping(精神內守) through the state of peace and tranquility without avarice and wild fancy(恬憺虛無). The ways of mental cultivation of the Taoism School, the Confusian School and the past physicians were in the category of The yellow Emperor's Internal Bible. 4. In the previous Jin dynasty(先秦時代), the important theoretical bases and practices to mental cultivation were made. In the Han dynasty(漢時代), the physicians attached importance to mental treaments. During the time from Sui dynasty to Tang Dynasty(隋唐時代), the mental cultivation was made perfect theoretically. During the Period from Song dynasty to Yuan Dynasty(宋元時代), Many methods of mental cultivation were newly created. During the Ming and the Qing Dynasties(明淸時代), the theory of health preservation and the methods of mental treaments were embodied. 5. Studying the mental cultivation by the differences of ages, the childhood(小兒期) is the spring of life. So the mental cultivation of this period put importance to the cultivation of Sh ng(養生). And the youth(靑年期) is the summer of life. So the mental cultivation of this period pill importance to the cultivation of Ch'ang(養長). And the middle age(中年期) is the autumn of life. So the mental cultivation of this period put imporance to the cultivation of Shou(養收). And the old age(老年期) is the winter of life. So the mental cultivation of this period put importance to the cultivation of Tsang(養藏). Studying the mental cultivation by the differences of sex, the man must do the mental cultivation through the dynamic nature(性情) of Yang(陽) and the woman must do the mental cultivation through the static nature of Yin(陰).

  • This study is aimed at establishing the categories and items for ecological assessment and evaluation of the environmental friendliness of golf courses in the capital region of Korea. The categories and items for the assessment have been derived based on the existing literature and interviews with golf experts. This study covers 32 golf courses in the capital region of Korea that are available in terms of data and on-site surveys. In order to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the environmental friendliness of the golf courses, the assessment area was divided into 4 categories that include a total of 14 sub-categories. The 4 categories encompass 1) location, 2) topography, 3) vegetation, and 4) construction. As its sub-categories, the location category includes current land use and zoning in the National Land Use Management Law. Topography has 2 sub-categories in the damage ratio of existing topography, gradient, cut area, and slope height. The assessment of vegetation is largely based on site surveys in the categories of preservation of the existing vegetation, the use of natural resources and existing trees, the component ratio of native tree species, the multi-layered structure of vegetation, and the utilization of water purification plants. In the aspect of construction, afforestation on tile slopes and the utilization of existing surface soil were evaluated. The examination of comparative analysis among the 10 items as a ratio measure showed that the scores were low in the sub-categories of current land we, the use of existing trees, and the multi-layered structure of vegetation. However, the rating results were satisfactory in the 2 sub-categories including cut area, and the utilization of native tree species. Those proved to be contributing factors in the ecological health of the golf courses. According to correlation analysis of the 10 items to the overall ecological rating of each golf course, the sizes of the 32 golf courses were mainly affected by the damage ratio of existing topography, gradient, preservation of vegetation and slope height. This study has the initiative to conduct an ecological assessment of golf courses in the country based on site surveys. The study results revealed that location factors such as current land use, damage ratio of topography and gradient and topographical factors were the main factors affecting the environmental friendliness of golf courses. This indicates indicating the significance of these factors in the future construction practices of golf courses. Furthermore, this study raises the need for follow-up studies to establish more detailed assessment criteria and to develop assessment techniques for areas such as slope afforestation and water purification plants that need a qualitative approach.
