전자스핀공명법(ESR)을 이용한 방사선조사 조제유류의 판별 (Detection of Irradiated Milk Formulas using Electron Spin Resonance)

  • 방사선 조사된 완제품 조제분유를 포함한 시료 4종의 ESR 스펙트럼 특성을 측정하였다. 조제분유와 전지분유의 비조사 시료는 g=2.0050의 아주 약한 singlet 형태의 스펙트럼을 나타내었다. 조사 시료에서 전지분유는 g=2.0050의 singlet 형태의 스펙트럼, 조제분유는 전지분유와 같은 중심 피크 옆에 g=2.0006의 작은 피크를 가진 비대칭 형태의 스펙트럼을 나타내었고, 두 시료 모두 비조사 시료와 조사 시료의 신호 세기 차이가 명확하여 조사유무 판별이 가능하였다. 포도당과 유당의 비조사 시료는 아무런 시그널을 나타내지 않았으며, 조사 시료는 이미 알려져 있는 결정형 당 유래의 다형 피크를 가진 스펙트럼을 나타내었다. 선량이 증가함에 따라 신호 세기도 증가하였고, 회귀방정식의 상관계수는 0.95 이상의 높은 값을 나타내었다. 감마선과 전자선 조사에 의한 ESR 스팩트럼 간의 유의성 있는 차이는 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 결론적으로 본 실험을 통하여 ESR 분석은 방사선 조사된 조제분유 및 원료의 판별에 유용한 방법으로 적용될 수 있는 것으로 판단되었으며, 온도, 습도 및 전처리 조건 등의 요인에 의한 변화 가능성과 식품 생산 및 장기유통 기간 등을 고려할 때 이에 대한 지속적인 연구와 자료 축적이 요구된다고 할 것이다.

Tilapia Mossambica 비늘 (어린) 유래 칼슘소재가 흰쥐의 골격대사지표와 골밀도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Calcium Source using Tilapia Mossambica Scales on the Bone Metabolic Biomarkers and Bone Mineral Density in Rats)

  • 본 연구는 칼슘고갈식이와 칼슘회복식이를 급여한 SD 종 흰쥐에서 골격대사 지표와 골밀도를 측정함으로써 어린소재 Ca (Tilapia mossambica 비늘을 이용한 칼슘소재)의 유용성을 $CaCO_3$와 비교 평가하였다. 1) 칼슘고갈식이인 LoCa군에 비해 칼슘회복식이를 먹인 AdCa군과 AdFa군에서 체중증가, 사료섭취량이 유의하게 높았고, 이는 어린소재 Ca의 식이효율이 적정수준에 있다고 할 수 있다. 2) 혈청 PTH와 칼시토닌은 실험군 사이에 차이가 없었다. 3) 혈청 ALP와 오스테오칼신은 LoCa군에서 유의하게 증가하였고, AdCa와 AdFa군에서 저하되었다. 뇨의 DPD는 LoCa군에서 현저히 높은 수치를 보인 반면, AdCa와 Ad-Fa군에서 낮은 수치를 보임으로써 뼈의 형성지표와 흡수지표는 칼슘회복식이에 의해 개선되었다. 4) 대퇴골의 습윤무게, 건조무게, 체중 100g 단위당 중량이 모두 AdFa > AdCa > LoCa 순으로 높았고, 대퇴골의 회분함량과 칼슘함량도 모두 같은 순서를 보임으로써 뼈의 형성과 칼슘 축적에 AdCa군과 마찬가지로 AdFa군에서도 효과적이었음을 시사한다. 5) 대퇴골의 골밀도는 AdCa군과 AdFa군에서 LoCa군에 비해 25~26%의 유의하게 높은 수치를 보였다. 이상에서와 같이 칼슘회복식이 (AdCA와 AdFa)는 ALP, 오스테오칼신, DPD의 지표를 개선하였고, 대퇴골의 중량과 회분함량의 증가와 함께 골밀도를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 어린소재 칼슘은 대조 칼슘급원으로 많이 사용되는 $CaCO_3$에 비교하여 뼈 건강에 대등한 효과를 보이므로, 칼슘 소재로서 개발될 가치가 있을 것으로 평가된다.

인돌이 인체 전립선암세포 PC3 Cell 전이 관련 Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) 활성과 발현에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Indole-3-Carbinol on Inhibition of MMP Activity via MAPK Signaling Pathway in Human Prostate Cancer Cell Line, PC3 Cells)

  • 본 연구는 십자화과 채소의 섭취로 체내유용 물질인 인돌이 전립선암 세포 PC3 cell의 항전이 효과 기전에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보았다. 인돌은 전립선암 세포중식을 농도 의존적으로 억제하였으며 인돌에 의한 세포 사멸의 영향과 관계없이 MMP-2, -9의 활성과 전사수준 및 단백질 발현을 억제하였다. 역으로 MMP활성 억제 물질인 TIMP-1,-2의 발현이 인돌 첨가에 의해 증가하였다. $NF{-\kappa}B$의 upstream에 존재하는 MAPK signaling 유전자인 ERK1/2, p38, JNK 발현이 인돌처리로 인산화를 억제하였다. 그리고 전립선암 세포 PC3 침윤성이 인돌 처리 시 유의적으로 감소하였다. 결론적으로 인돌은 PC3 인체 전립선암 세포의 전이 과정을 MAPK phthway를 통한 MMP 활성과 발현 억제, TIMP 발현 증가로 암 세포 전이 억제를 하는 것 으로 나타나 암 전이 억제 식품으로 가능성을 제시한다.

임신기간 중 철 섭취가 모체와 제대 혈청의 미량 무기질 농도에 미치는 영향 (Iron Intake During Pregnancy on Serum Concentrations of Trace Minerals in Mothers and Neonates)

  • It is a common clinical practice to recommend taking iron supplements for pregnant women during gestation. Although it is required to ensure adequate iron stores during pregnancy, there has been some debate over the interference effects of excessive iron load, because it is possible to compete in the transport in the intestine and placenta and in binding to serum proteins of other trace minerals. In this study, maternal and neonatal serum concentrations of Fe, Zn, Cu, Se, Cr, Mn, and Co were assessed along with maternal Fe intakes. A total of 124 pregnant women and their term neonates participated voluntarily in this research. The women were divided into one of the three groups {high Fe intake (HFI), median Fe intake (MFI), and low Fe intake (LFI)} by their total Fe intakes and one of the two groups (Anemic and Normal) by their Fe nutritional status. All the data were compared among the three groups and between the two groups also. Total Fe intakes of HFI, MFI, and LFI groups were 140.8 ${\pm}$ 76.1, 68.0 ${\pm}$ 11.2, and 30.2 ${\pm}$ 8.6 mg/day, respectively. Those of Anemic and Normal groups were 90.1 ${\pm}$ 74.8 and 86.6 ${\pm}$ 46.8 mg/day, respectively. Maternal Hb concentration and Hct were not significantly different among HFI, MFI, and LFI groups but those were significantly different between Anemic and Normal groups. However, neonatal Hb concentration was not significantly different among HFI, MFI, and LFI groups and between Anemic and Normal groups either. Maternal serum Fe concentrations of the three groups, HFI, MFI, and LFI, were similar but that of Anemic group was significantly lower compared to Normal group. However, there was no significant difference in neonatal serum Fe concentrations among the three groups and between the two groups either. Serum concentrations of the other trace minerals in both mothers and neonates were not significantly different among HFI, MFI, and LFI groups and between Anemic and Normal groups. In addition, in the maternal serum, Fe concentration was positively correlated to Zn and Se concentration, respectively. As for the neonatal serum, Fe concentration showed a positive correlation to Zn, Cu, Mn, Se, and Co concentration, respectively. No trace mineral concentration was found to correlate negatively to Fe concentration in both maternal and neonatal serum, The results in this study indicate that Fe intakes of pregnant women, even if it is considerably above the level of estimated average requirement (EAR), may not affect serum Fe concentration in both mothers and neonates. In addition it might not influence adversely on the availability of other trace minerals including Zn and Cu in both mothers and neonates.

Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate에 의한 흰쥐 간세포 미세구조와 metallothionein 발현에 미치는 영향 (Ultrastructure and Metallothionein Expression in Rat Liver Treated with Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate)

  • 본 연구에서는 내분비계 장애물질으로 알려져 있고, 플라스틱 제품의 가소제로 사용되고 있는 di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)가 흰쥐의 간세포 미세구조와 간조직내 metallothionein (MT)의 발현 양상에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. DEHP는 흰쥐 간세포의 미세구조와 MT 발현에 영향을 주었다. 실험군의 경우 조면소포체가 발달하고, 미토콘드리아가 증가하며 리소솜 혹은 퍼옥시좀들이 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 한편, MT 발현의 변화를 면역세포 화학적 방법과 western Blot을 수행한 결과 저농도 투여군에서는 약 1.5배, 고농도 투여군에서는 약 2배 가량 증가하는 결과를 나타냈다. 결론적으로 DEHP는 흰쥐 간세포의 구조와 기능에 영향을 주는 것으로 판단되며, 이러한 세포내 스트레스가 MT 발현 증가 현상과 연관이 있을 것으로 판단된다.

유도훈련이 경호전공 비만대학생들의 신체구성, 혈중지질 및 면역력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Judo Training on Body Composition, Blood lipids and Immunity of Security Majoring Obese University Students)

  • 경호전공 대학생들은 경호대상자의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위해 경호무도를 익히고 습득하고 있다. 또한 경호무도는 경호원의 건강한 몸과 정신을 향상시키고 유지하는데 도움이 되고 있다. 하지만 현재 대학에서 경호를 전공하는 학생 중 경호무도훈련 참여시간 부족과 과도한 음식섭취로 인해 비만해 지는 경우가 늘고 있는 실정이며, 이는 본인의 건강상태뿐만 아니라 추후 경호업무에도 좋지 않은 영향을 초래할 수 있을 것이다. 경호무도 종목 중 유도는 신체구성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 근력과 순발력은 향상시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 경호전공 비만남자대학생을 대상으로 10주간의 유도훈련이 신체구성, 혈중지질 및 면역력에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 유도훈련은 체지방 감소로 인해 비만을 방지하고 중성지방과 콜레스테롤을 감소시켜 동맥경화성 질환을 예방할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 면역기능에 있어 인체 세균 감염에 대한 방어기능과 염증반응, 외부항원 대항에 긍정적으로 작용할 것으로 생각된다. 이는 경호원의 비만을 방지할 뿐만아니라 건강한 삶을 유지하여 경호업무 능률을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

비글견에서 치태와 치석, 치은 염증의 조사 (Investigation of Dental Plaque, Calculus and Gingival Inflammation in Beagle Dogs)

  • This study was performed to investigate of dental plaque, calculus and gingival inflammation in Beagle dogs. Forty adults Beagle dogs (28 male and 12 female) were used in this study. The dogs weighed 9.5 kg and were in good oral and systemic health as determined by physical examination, and all dogs had full and normal dentition. The dogs were given a commercial pellet feed during 2 years period. For all examination procedures, the dogs were premedicated with a subcutaneous injection of atropine sulfate (0.04 mg/kg). Anesthesia was induced and maintained by intravenous administration of ketamine (8 mg/kg) and xylazine (2 mg/kg). Dental plaque, calculus and gingival inflammation were assessed by Logan and Boyce clinical plaque index. Calculi covering the maxillary carnassial and first molar teeth were extensive and were accompanied by severe gingival inflammation and pocket formation. Calculi, accompanied by gingival inflammation, were clearly evident on buccal surfaces of other teeth. Calculi didn't showed on the lingual surfaces, but linguogingival inflammation formed in premolar teeth. Although the general pattern was clear, there was considerable variation among dogs in the rate of deposition of calculus and extend of gingival inflammation. This investigation suggest that feeding of the commercial dry food without dental hygiene increase plaque accumulation and may be a contributing factor in calculi formation and periodontal disease.

Cisplatin의 신장독성에 대한 영지추출물 복합제제의 보호효과 (Protective effect of Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+ on nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin in rats)

  • In this paper, the effect of Ganopoly(extracts of Ganoderma lucidum) and Ganopoly/C+(70% Ganopoly + 30% chitosan) on cisplastin-induced nephrotoxicity was investigated in Sprague-Dawley rats. A single dose of cisplastin(5 ㎎/㎏) kg) was administered intraperitoneally after pretreatment of saline, Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+ for 7 days. The nephrotoxicity and renal function were manifestated by the changes of body weight, blood pressure, biochemical changes and solute in urine and plasma. After the treatment of CDDP(cis-dichlorodiamineplatinum), a significant elevation of kidney weight, serum urea, cretinine, urine volume for 24 hours, urine magnesium, and a severe or significant decrease in body weight, blood pressure, creatinine clearance, urine osmolarity, serum albumin, etc. The nephrotoxicity was further confirmed by a significant decrease in glutathione S-transferase(GSH) in urine and kidney homogenate, GSH, glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and catalase in kidney tissue. And also the lipid peroxidation was significantly increased in kidney homogenate. These signs of nephrotoxicity was ameliorated by the pretreatment and consecutive administration of Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+ for 14 days after the Lp. injection of CDDP on 7th day after pretreatment of Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+. The amelioration of nephrotoxicity was evidenced by significant reduction in serum urea and creatinine concentration, and improvement of other index of renal function. And The activity of antioxidant enzymes were partially recovered in kidney tissue of rats treated by CDDP and the administration of Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+. These results indicate the cispastin induced nephrotoxicity is due to an impairment of tubular reabsorption systems enhanced by necrosis of proximal tubule, and the Ganopoly and Ganopoly/C+ has a partial protective effect on nephrotoxicity induced by CDDP. The polysacchride of Ganoderma lucidum may improve the therapeutic index of nephrotoxicity induced by CDDP. However, it is needed to elucidate the mechanism for confirming the therapeutic effect.

Human Infections with Spirometra decipiens Plerocercoids Identified by Morphologic and Genetic Analyses in Korea

  • Tapeworms of the genus Spirometra are pseudophyllidean cestodes endemic in Korea. At present, it is unclear which Spirometra species are responsible for causing human infections, and little information is available on the epidemiological profiles of Spirometra species infecting humans in Korea. Between 1979 and 2009, a total of 50 spargana from human patients and 2 adult specimens obtained from experimentally infected carnivorous animals were analyzed according to genetic and taxonomic criteria and classified as Spirometra erinaceieuropaei or Spirometra decipiens depending on the morphology. Morphologically, S. erinaceieuropaei and S. decipiens are different in that the spirally coiled uterus in S. erinaceieuropaei has 5-7 complete coils, while in S. decipiens it has only 4.5 coils. In addition, there is a 9.3% (146/1,566) sequence different between S. erinaceieuropaei and S. decipiens in the cox1 gene. Partial cox1 sequences (390 bp) from 35 Korean isolates showed 99.4% (388/390) similarity with the reference sequence of S. erinaceieuropaei from Korea (G1724; GenBank KJ599680) and an additional 15 Korean isolates revealed 99.2% (387/390) similarity with the reference sequences of S. decipiens from Korea (G1657; GenBank KJ599679). Based on morphologic and molecular databases, the estimated population ratio of S. erinaceieuropaei to S. decipiens was 35: 15. Our results indicate that both S. erinaceieuropaei and S. decipiens found in Korea infect humans, with S. erinaceieuropaei being 2 times more prevalent than S. decipiens. This study is the first to report human sparganosis caused by S. decipiens in humans in Korea.

의사를 대상으로한 비만양상과 그 관련요인에 관한 연구 (A study on obesity pattern and related factors of the doctors)

  • The author surveyed overall obesity indicies and factors concerned with obesity such as dietary intake, physical activity, stress and life style with the subject of doctors. The number of subjects was total 508 with 396 men and 112 women. They were subgrouped into surgical part, medical part and service and basic part by speciality. And also subgrouped into intern and resident, pay doctor, and practitioner by working type. The results were as follows. 1) Obesity indices: BMI of total doctor was $23.1{\pm}2.8$, and WHR was $0.87{\pm}0.08$ and overweight prevalence(BMI>25.0) was 23.6%. It was within normal limit but slightly over the Korean standard. The degree of obesity indices of subgroups by speciality was 'surgical part > medical part > service and basic part', and by working type was 'practitioner > pay doctor > intern and resident'. 2) Dietary intake and Physical activity: Average dietary intake was $2148{\pm}451kcal/day$. The degree of dietary intake by speciality was 'surgical part > medical part > service and basic part'. By working type it was 'practitioner > pay doctor > intern and resident'. Average physical activity was $29{\pm}5$ METs/day. The degree of physical activity also showed similiar pattern. But there was no significant difference among each groups. 3) Comparision between over-weight and non-over-weight group: The items that showed significant difference between two groups were dietary intake, skip breakfast, regular exercise, smoking, heavy drinking, chronic disease etc.
