  • Two copepod species of Leptocaris belonging to the family Darcythompsoniidae are recorded from sandy mud sediments of salt marshes in South Korea: L. brevicornis (van Douwe, 1905) and L. trisetosus pacificus n. ssp. The genus Leptocaris is newly known from Korea. Leptocaris trisetosus pacificus differs from the nominate subspecies in exhibiting a sexual dimorphism in setal armature of leg 3, that is, bearing an additional seta on the second endopodal segment of leg 3 in male and an allopatric geographical distribution. This paper deals with the description and systematic accounts of them with detailed illustrations.

  • Both sexes of a new species of Miraciidae belonging to the genus Amonardia Lang, 1948 are described. All materials collected from the cultivated brown alga, Undaria pinnatifida of Gijang, Korea. So far only one species, A. normani (Brady, 1872) from the algal bed at Jindo Island was recorded in Korea. The new species can easily be distinguished from its congeners by the combination of characters as follows: (1) shape of first antennular segment in female, (2) setal formular of mandible and maxillule, (3) setae of female sixth leg in female, and (4) shape of P2 endopod and exopod of fifth leg in male.

  • Benthic harpacticoids were collected from the East Sea of Korea. Specimen were identified as members of the genus Robertgurneya Apostolov & Marinov, 1988 based on the following characteristics: the fourth segment of antennule with aesthetasc, antenna with three-segmented exopod, shape of mandible, and P1-P4 armature formula. Robertgurneya donghaensis sp. nov. is morphologically most closely related to R. simulans (Norman & Scott T., 1905) and R. similis similis (Scott A., 1896). However, R. donghaensis is characterized by the rostrum with a pointed tip, caudal rami about as board as the length of its inner edge, the first segment of the P1 endopod much longer than entire exopod, and the P5 exopod with five setae in male. The genus Robertgurneya is reported from Korean waters for the first time.
