Cation-deficient 페로브스카이트 세라믹스의 유전 특성과 발진기 응용 (Dielectric Properties of Cation-deficient Perovskite Ceramics and Oscillator Application)

  • In this study, dielectric properties of the ${Mg_5}{B_4}{O_{15}}$ (B=Ta, Nb) cation-deficient perovskite ceramics and its oscillator application are investigated. The cation-deficient perovskite ceramics are prepared through the solid-state route. According to the XRD pattern, ${Mg_4}{Ta_2}{O_9}$ and $Mg{Ta_2}{O_6}$ phase existed in calcined and sintered ${Mg_5}{Ta_4}{O_15}$ powder. Also ${Mg_5}{Ta_4}{O_{15}}$ phase added with increasing sintering temperature. In the case of calcined and sintered ${Mg_5}{Nb_4}{O_{15}}$ powder, single phase of ${Mg_5}{Nb_4}{O_{15}}$ is appeared. In the case of the ${Mg_5}{Ta_4}{O_{15}}$ and ${Mg_5}{Nb_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics sintered at $1450^{\circ}C$ for 5h, the dielectric constant, quality factor, and temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency (TCRF) were 8.2, 259,473 GHz, $-10.91ppm/^{\circ}C$ and 14, 37,350 GHz, $-52.3\;ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively. Simulated DR with ${Mg_5}{Ta_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics had the operating frequency of 10.99 GHz and S(2,1) of -29.795 dB. Size of manufactured oscillator was $56{\times}48{\times}34\;mm^3 and operated at 11.93 GHz. Power output and second harmonic of oscillator were +13.61 dBm and -23.81 dBc at 23.85 GHz, respectively.

  • 고체-고체 접촉계면의 특성을 평가하기 위하여 초음파 수직 입사에 의한 반사 투과법이 주로 이용되어왔다. 하지만 수직입사방법은 용접부 검사와 같은 현장적용에 한계가 있는 단점이 있다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위한 방법으로 초음파 경사입사법이 대안이 될 수 있다. 그러나 경사입사법의 경우, 초음파의 모드변환이 발생하고 수신신호는 접촉면의 수직 계면강성뿐만 아니라 수평 계면강성의 영향을 받으므로 이를 고려한 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 경사입사에 따른 접촉계면에서의 초음파 반사와 투과특성에 대한 이론적 모델을 제안하였다. 그리고 경사입사에 대한 초음파 반사율 및 2 차 고조파 측정실험 결과 이론적 예측과 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 결과적으로 경사입사법은 접촉계면 특성평가를 위한 효과적인 기법이라 할 수 있다.

청각장애인을 위한 사운드 이벤트 검출 기반 홈 모니터링 시스템 (Home monitoring system based on sound event detection for the hard-of-hearing)

  • 본 논문에서는 청각장애인을 위해 양방향 게이트 순환 신경망을 이용한 사운드 이벤트 검출 기반의 홈 모니터링 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 우선적으로 효과적인 사운드 이벤트 검출을 위해 패킷손실 은닉을 이용하여 무선 센서 네트워크로 인해 손실된 신호를 복원하고, 멀티채널 상호 상관관계 계수를 이용하여 신뢰할 수 있는 채널을 선택한다. 선택된 채널의 사운드는 이벤트 검출을 위해 두 개의 오디오 채널을 사용하는 양방향 게이트 순환신경망에 적용된다. 검출된 사운드 이벤트는 텍스트로 변환되며, 이와 함께 하모닉/퍼커시브 음원 분리 방식을 통해 햅틱 신호로 변환되어 청각장애인에게 제공된다. 실험결과는 제안한 사운드 검출기반의 성능이 기존 방식보다 더 우수하다는 것과 음원 분리 방식을 통해 사운드를 세밀한 햅틱 신호로 표현할 수 있음을 보인다.

Analytical and experimental investigation of stepped piezoelectric energy harvester

  • Conventional Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (CPEH) have been extensively studied for maximizing their electrical output through material selection, geometric and structural optimization, and adoption of efficient interface circuits. In this paper, the performance of Stepped Piezoelectric Energy Harvester (SPEH) under harmonic base excitation is studied analytically, numerically and experimentally. The motivation is to compare the energy harvesting performance of CPEH and SPEHs with the same characteristics (resonant frequency). The results of this study challenge the notion of achieving higher voltage and power output through incorporation of geometric discontinuities such as step sections in the harvester beams. A CPEH consists of substrate material with a patch of piezoelectric material bonded over it and a tip mass at the free end to tune the resonant frequency. A SPEH is designed by introducing a step section near the root of substrate beam to induce higher dynamic strain for maximizing the electrical output. The incorporation of step section reduces the stiffness and consequently, a lower tip mass is used with SPEH to match the resonant frequency to that of CPEH. Moreover, the electromechanical coupling coefficient, forcing function and damping are significantly influenced because of the inclusion of step section, which consequently affects harvester's output. Three different configurations of SPEHs characterized by the same resonant frequency as that of CPEH are designed and analyzed using linear electromechanical model and their performances are compared. The variation of strain on the harvester beams is obtained using finite element analysis. The prototypes of CPEH and SPEHs are fabricated and experimentally tested. It is shown that the power output from SPEHs is lower than the CPEH. When the prototypes with resonant frequencies in the range of 56-56.5 Hz are tested at 1 m/s2, three SPEHs generate power output of 482 μW, 424 μW and 228 μW when compared with 674 μW from CPEH. It is concluded that the advantage of increasing dynamic strain using step section is negated by increase in damping and decrease in forcing function. However, SPEHs show slightly better performance in terms of specific power and thus making them suitable for practical scenarios where the ratio of power to system mass is critical.

Effects of fission product doping on the structure, electronic structure, mechanical and thermodynamic properties of uranium monocarbide: A first-principles study

  • A first-principle approach within the framework of density functional theory was employed to study the effect of vacancy defects and fission products (FPs) doping on the mechanical, electronic, and thermodynamic properties of uranium monocarbide (UC). Firstly, the calculated vacancy formation energies confirm that the C vacancy is more stable than the U vacancy. The solution energies indicate that FPs prefer to occupying in U site rather than in C site. Zr, Mo, Th, and Pu atoms tend to directly replace U atom and dissolve into the UC lattice. Besides, the results of the mechanical properties show that U vacancy reduces the compressive and deformation resistance of UC while C vacancy has little effect. The doping of all FPs except He has a repairing effect on the mechanical properties of U1-xC. In addition, significant modifications are observed in the phonon dispersion curves and partial phonon density of states (PhDOS) of UC1-x, ZrxU1-xC, MoxU1-xC, and RhxU1-xC, including narrow frequency gaps and overlapping phonon modes, which increase the phonon scattering and lead to deterioration of thermal expansion coefficient (αV) and heat capacity (Cp) of UC predicted by the quasi harmonic approximation (QHA) method.

Thermodynamical bending analysis of P-FG sandwich plates resting on nonlinear visco-Pasternak's elastic foundations

  • In this research, the study of the thermoelastic flexural analysis of silicon carbide/Aluminum graded (FG) sandwich 2D uniform structure (plate) under harmonic sinusoidal temperature load over time is presented. The plate is modeled using a simple two dimensional integral shear deformation plate theory. The current formulation contains an integral terms whose aim is to reduce a number of variables compared to others similar solutions and therefore minimize the computation time. The transverse shear stresses vary according to parabolic distribution and vanish at the free surfaces of the structure without any use of correction factors. The external load is applied on the upper face and varying in the thickness of the plates. The structure is supposed to be composed of "three layers" and resting on nonlinear visco-Pasternak's-foundations. The governing equations of the system are deduced and solved via Hamilton's principle and general solution. The computed results are compared with those existing in the literature to validate the current formulation. The impacts of the parameters (material index, temperature exponent, geometry ratio, time, top/bottom temperature ratio, elastic foundation type, and damping coefficient) on the dynamic flexural response are studied.

분석기간의 길이에 따른 동해안 비조석성분의 통계적 특성변화 분석 (Analysis on Statistical Characteristic Changes due to the Analysis Periods of Non-Tidal Components Data in the East Coast of Korea)

  • 동해안 검조소 조위자료를 이용하여 비조석 성분을 추출하고, 추출된 비조석 성분을 이용하여 통계적인 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 분석대상 검조소는 속초, 묵호, 후포, 포항, 울산, 울릉도이며, 분석기간을 1년부터 가용한 자료기간까지 증가시켜 가며 비조석 성분의 분산 및 왜곡도 계수의 통계정보(최대값, 최소값, 평균, 표준편차) 변차를 분석하였다. 또한, 분석기간에 따른 통계정보의 변화범위를 분석한 결과, ${\pm}5%$ 범위의 분산 신뢰구간을 확보하기 위하여 필요한 분석기간은 전체적으로 12년 이상 정도로 파악되었으며, ${\pm}0.1$ 범위의 왜곡도 계수 신뢰구간 확보에 필요한 분석기간은 울릉도의 6년 이상을 제외하고는 모두 12년 이상으로 파악되었다. 한편, 자기상관함수 및 스펙트럼 분석을 수행한 결과, 절대적인 변화량에 차이는 있으나 변화경향은 모든 지점이 매년 유사한 것으로 파악되었다.

열차의 주행속도와 차체연직가속도의 상관관계를 고려한 철도교량의 진동사용성 처짐 한계 (Deflection Limit based on Vibration Serviceability of Railway Bridges Considering the Correlation between Train Speed and Vertical Acceleration on Coach)

  • 철도교량을 주행하는 열차의 진동사용성 확보를 위해 Eurocode, 신간선기준, 호남고속철도 설계지침 등에서는 교량의 처짐과 차체연직가속도로 진동사용성 기준을 제시하고 있다. 호남고속철도 설계지침 경우 Eurocode를 인용하였기 때문에 향후 열차의 주행속도와 경간길이의 향상 및 확장에 맞추어 철도교량의 진동사용성 기준을 보완함에 있어 철도선진국들에 비해 상대적으로 뒤처질 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 고속철도교량 기술의 국외의존도를 줄이고 기술경쟁력을 확보하기 위하여 주행속도의 증가와 열차-교량 진동전달특성 등을 고려할 수 있는 철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐을 제시하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 매개변수 연구와 열차-교량 상호작용해석을 수행하여 주행속도의 증가에 따른 차체연직가속도와 교량변위의 상관관계를 파악하였으며 주행속도의 증가와 더불어 차체연직가속도가 증가하는 경향을 확인하고 가속도증폭계수를 제안하였다. 그리고 교량의 처짐형상과 진동을 정현파와 조화운동으로 가정하고 진동전달함수와 가속도증폭계수를 이용하여 고속철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐을 수식으로 전개하였다.

유사도 알고리즘을 활용한 시맨틱 프로세스 검색방안 (Semantic Process Retrieval with Similarity Algorithms)

  • One of the roles of the Semantic Web services is to execute dynamic intra-organizational services including the integration and interoperation of business processes. Since different organizations design their processes differently, the retrieval of similar semantic business processes is necessary in order to support inter-organizational collaborations. Most approaches for finding services that have certain features and support certain business processes have relied on some type of logical reasoning and exact matching. This paper presents our approach of using imprecise matching for expanding results from an exact matching engine to query the OWL(Web Ontology Language) MIT Process Handbook. MIT Process Handbook is an electronic repository of best-practice business processes. The Handbook is intended to help people: (1) redesigning organizational processes, (2) inventing new processes, and (3) sharing ideas about organizational practices. In order to use the MIT Process Handbook for process retrieval experiments, we had to export it into an OWL-based format. We model the Process Handbook meta-model in OWL and export the processes in the Handbook as instances of the meta-model. Next, we need to find a sizable number of queries and their corresponding correct answers in the Process Handbook. Many previous studies devised artificial dataset composed of randomly generated numbers without real meaning and used subjective ratings for correct answers and similarity values between processes. To generate a semantic-preserving test data set, we create 20 variants for each target process that are syntactically different but semantically equivalent using mutation operators. These variants represent the correct answers of the target process. We devise diverse similarity algorithms based on values of process attributes and structures of business processes. We use simple similarity algorithms for text retrieval such as TF-IDF and Levenshtein edit distance to devise our approaches, and utilize tree edit distance measure because semantic processes are appeared to have a graph structure. Also, we design similarity algorithms considering similarity of process structure such as part process, goal, and exception. Since we can identify relationships between semantic process and its subcomponents, this information can be utilized for calculating similarities between processes. Dice's coefficient and Jaccard similarity measures are utilized to calculate portion of overlaps between processes in diverse ways. We perform retrieval experiments to compare the performance of the devised similarity algorithms. We measure the retrieval performance in terms of precision, recall and F measure? the harmonic mean of precision and recall. The tree edit distance shows the poorest performance in terms of all measures. TF-IDF and the method incorporating TF-IDF measure and Levenshtein edit distance show better performances than other devised methods. These two measures are focused on similarity between name and descriptions of process. In addition, we calculate rank correlation coefficient, Kendall's tau b, between the number of process mutations and ranking of similarity values among the mutation sets. In this experiment, similarity measures based on process structure, such as Dice's, Jaccard, and derivatives of these measures, show greater coefficient than measures based on values of process attributes. However, the Lev-TFIDF-JaccardAll measure considering process structure and attributes' values together shows reasonably better performances in these two experiments. For retrieving semantic process, we can think that it's better to consider diverse aspects of process similarity such as process structure and values of process attributes. We generate semantic process data and its dataset for retrieval experiment from MIT Process Handbook repository. We suggest imprecise query algorithms that expand retrieval results from exact matching engine such as SPARQL, and compare the retrieval performances of the similarity algorithms. For the limitations and future work, we need to perform experiments with other dataset from other domain. And, since there are many similarity values from diverse measures, we may find better ways to identify relevant processes by applying these values simultaneously.

옥사디아졸 결합의 유기 발색단이 도입된 이차비선형 광학 이미드 고분자 (Second Order Nonlinear Optical Polyimides Containing Organic Chromophores with an Oxadiazole Segment)

  • 2차 비선형 광학 소재는 광 도파로 응용을 위해 조화파 파장영역에서 낮은 광 진행 손실을 가져야 한다. 이를 위하여 분자에 전자 당김 작용기로 니트로기, 시안기 및 알킬슬폰기가 각각 도입된 세 가지의 쌍극자형 발색단 물질이 합성되었다. 시안기 및 슬폰기를 갖는 발색단의 자외-가시 흡수 스펙트럼은 니트로기를 갖는 발색단에 비해 단파장으로 이동하였다. 또한, 크로모포 분자에 옥사디아졸 연결기를 도입한 결과 광흡수 스펙트럼이 단파장으로 이동하는 유사한 특성을 관찰하였다. 이러한 단파장으로 이동하는 특성은 2차 조화파의 낮은 광손실을 유도할 것이다. 합성된 크로모포는 이미드 고분자에 곁사슬기 형태로 도입하였다. 합성된 고분자의 비선형 광학 성질은 $1.55{\mu}m$ 파장 영역에서 전기광학계수를 측정하고 변환을 통하여 결정하였다. 시차열량 분석계와 열중량 분석계를 이용하여 이들 고분자의 물성 측정을 진행한 결과 $185^{\circ}C$ 이상의 높은 유리전이 온도와 $300^{\circ}C$까지 열적으로 안정함을 보였다.
