Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) imaging is a method to detect solutes based on the chemical exchange of mobile protons with water. The solute protons exchange with three different patterns, which are fast, slow, and intermediate rates. The CEST contrast can be obtained from the exchangeable protons, which are hydroxyl protons, amine protons, and amide protons. The CEST MR imaging is useful to evaluate tumors, strokes, and other diseases. The purpose of this study is to review the mathematical model for CEST imaging and for measurement of the chemical exchange rate, and to measure the chemical exchange rate using a 3T MRI system on several amino acids. We reviewed the mathematical models for the proton exchange. Several physical models are proposed to demonstrate a two-pool, three-pool, and four-pool models. The CEST signals are also evaluated by taking account of the exchange rate, pH and the saturation efficiency. Although researchers have used most commonly in the calculation of CEST asymmetry, a quantitative analysis is also developed by using Lorentzian fitting. The chemical exchange rate was measured in the phantoms made of asparagine (Asn), glutamate (Glu), ${\gamma}-aminobutyric$ acid (GABA), glycine (Gly), and myoinositol (MI). The experiment was performed at a 3T human MRI system with three different acidity conditions (pH 5.6, 6.2, and 7.4) at a concentration of 50 mM. To identify the chemical exchange rate, the "lsqcurvefit" built-in function in MATLAB was used to fit the pseudo-first exchange rate model. The pseudo-first exchange rate of Asn and Gly was increased with decreasing acidity. In the case of GABA, the largest result was observed at pH 6.2. For Glu, the results at pH 5.6 and 6.2 did not show a significant difference, and the results at pH 7.4 were almost zero. For MI, there was no significant difference at pH 5.6 or 7.4, however, the results at pH 6.2 were smaller than at the other pH values. For the experiment at 3T, we were only able to apply 1 s as the maximum saturation duration due to the limitations of the MRI system. The measurement of the chemical exchange rate was limited in a clinical 3T MRI system because of a hardware limitation.
Radar systems are used in remote sensing mainly as space-borne, airborne and ground-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), scatterometer and Doppler radar. Those systems are composed of expensive equipments and require expertise and professional skills for operation. Because of the limitation in getting experiences of the radar and SAR systems and its operations in ordinary universities and institutions, it is difficult to learn and exercise essential principles of radar hardware which are essential to understand and develop new application fields. To overcome those difficulties, in this paper, we present the construction and experiment of a low-cost educational radar system based on the blueprints of the MIT Cantenna system. The radar system was operated in three modes. Firstly, the velocity of moving cars was measured in Doppler radar mode. Secondly, the range of two moving targets were measured in radar mode with range resolution. Lastly, 2D images were constructed in GB-SAR mode to enhance the azimuth resolution. Additionally, we simulated the SAR raw data to compare Deramp-FFT and ${\omega}-k$ algorithms and to analyze the effect of antenna positional error for SAR focusing. We expect the system can be further developed into a light-weight SAR system onboard a unmanned aerial vehicle by improving the system with higher sampling frequency, I/Q acquisition, and more stable circuit design.
The computer generated hologram (CGH) method is the technology which can generate a hologram by using only a personal computer (PC) commonly used. However, the CGH method requires a huge amount of calculational time for the 3D object with a super multi-light source or a high-definition hologram. Hence, some solutions are obviously necessary for reducing the computational complexity of a CGH algorithm or increasing the computing performance of hardware. In this paper, we propose a method which can generate a digital hologram of the 3D object with a super multi-light source using parallel distributed computing. The traditional methods has the limitation of improving CGH performance by using a single PC. However, the proposed method where a server PC efficiently uses the computing power of client PCs can quickly calculate the CGH method for 3D object with super multi-light source. In the experimental result, we verified that the proposed method can generate the digital hologram with 1,5361,536 resolution size of 3D object with 157,771 light source in 121 ms. In addition, in the proposed method, we verify that the proposed method can reduce generation time of a digital hologram in proportion to the number of client PCs.

Up to date, a lot of bus protocol and bus architecture are released though most of them are based on the shared bus architecture and inherit the limitation of performance. SNP (SoC Network Protocol), and hence, SNA (SoC Network Architecture) which are high performance on-chip-bus protocol and architecture, respectively, have been proposed to solve the problems of the conventional shared bus. We refine the SNA specification and improve the performance and functionality. The performance of the SNA is improved by supporting simultaneous routing for bus request of multiple masters. The internal routing logic is also improved so that the gate count is decreased. The proposed SNA employs XSNP (extended SNP) that supports almost perfect compatibility with AMBA AHB protocol without performance degradation. The hardware complexity of the improved SNA is not increased much by optimizing the current routing logic. The improved SNA works for IPs with the original SNP at its best performance. In addition, it can also replace the AMBA AHB or interconnect matrix of a system, and it guarantees simultaneous multiple channels. That is, the existing AMBA system can show much improved performance by replacing the AHB or the interconnect matrix with the SNA. Thanks to the small number of interconnection wires, the SNA can be used for the off-chip bus system, too. We verify the performance and function of the proposed SNA and XSNP simulation and emulation.
The vergence control method is presented for a parallel-axls stereo camera (PASC) using a signal processing technique such as shift, (rotation), and scaling. The PASC is considered as the simplest one of binocular stereo cameras. However, its major limitation lies in the controllability of vergence since its left and right imaging sensors of CCDs are fixed. On the other hand, a horizontal-moving-axis stereo camera (HMASC) with movable imaging sensors is able to control the vergence by moving its CCDs horizontally. In spite of its vergence controllability, there is a major drawback in the implementation because of complicated mechanical structure and the additional cost. To overcome the vergence control problem of the PASC, an operational principle of the HMASC is applied to the PASC. To be specific, without any additional hardware the vergence control problem of the PASC is solved with the signal processing technique. Assuming the virtual displacement between CCD's, a disappearing part of acquired images is removed and the original image site is recovered via interpolation. Experimental results show that the vergence control between stereo images captured by the PASC it possible with an acceptable degradation of the image quality defending on the virtual displacement of CCDs.
With the breakthrough development of computing environment, the design phases have been changed a lot nowadays. In the case of prior phases of transportation design such as cars and forklift-trucks design, designers have depended on surveys and 2D line drawings for fixing a product layout and extracting ergonomic data. In this method, designers don't meet only the problem of reliability of measuring data but also, the problems of unknown situation of operators' fatigue and comfort in work situation. In these methods, it has much less creditability to have a 2D human model to check the real world motion due to the limitation of the 3 Dimension. Even though with a 2D human model, perfect layout is determined, it is still difficult to measure about comfort and fatigue for a user because it measuring an analysing method is static. The development of computer hardware and software have not only changed the flow in the social-wide range but also immerged design into Virtual Environment. In conventional design method, visualization and data transferring have been the main issues but, in virtual environment, determining of design layout and analysing ergonomic data with sophisticated feeling about comfort and fatigue are possible by using 3D virtual human. In this study, the general characteristics of virtual environment was discussed and the possibility of digital process of design was treated. For these studies, layout design for forklift-trucks was tested. Eventually, the merits of each design phase applied virtual environment are discussed.

We analyzed image factors to determine the characteristic factors that need for intelligent replenishment system of the auto film processor. We processed the serial 300 sheets of radiographic films of chest phantom without replenishment of developing and fixation replenisher. We took the digital data by using film digitizer which scaned the films and automatically summed up the pixel values of the films. We analyzed characteristic curves, average gradients and relative speeds of individual film using densitometer and step densitometry. We also evaluated the pH of developer, fixer, and washer fluid with digital pH meter. Fixer residual rate and washing effect were measured by densitometer using the reagent methods. There was no significant reduction of the digital density numbers of the serial films without replenishment of developer and fixer. The average gradients were gradually decreased by 0.02 and relative speeds were also gradually decreased by 6.96% relative to initial standard step-densitometric measurement. The pHs of developer and fixer were reflected the inactivation of each fluid. The fixer residual rates and washing effects after processing each 25 sheets of films were in the normal range. We suggest that the digital data are not reliable due to limitation of the hardware and software of the film digitizer. We conclude that average gradient and relative speed which mean the film's contrast and sensitivity respectively are reliable factors for determining the need for the replenishment of the auto film processor. We need more study of simpler equations and programming for more intelligent replenishment system of the auto film processor.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how the debates on learning and learning outcomes in global education agendas have changed and to understand the discourses and issues about learning under the agendas, and finally based on the understanding, to know what is the implication we should take in international education development cooperation in Korea. To do this, this study critically analyzed 1) what is the main features and directions, and 2) the method and limitation in handling learning concept on three major global education forums which are Jomtien global education forum in 1990, Dakar in 2000, and Incheon in 2015. Major finding shows that there are little learning concept discussed in Jomtien and Dakar forums and in SDGs education agenda, learning is vaguely defined and discussed and there are problems of too much focus on learning outcomes itself and absence of study on proper assessment system. Major lessons and implications for international education development cooperation could be stated that postcolonial perspectives and learner centered approaches is required in developing countries's education ecology. And continuous support for sustainable development for learners' capacity should be underlined. We needs to focus on developing software not hardware from the first of educational ODA. Finally, it is needed to embed within pedagogical approaches.

Purpose: This study was based on the Korean Foot and Ankle Society (KFAS) member survey and aimed to report the current trends in the management of syndesmotic injuries over the last few decades. Materials and Methods: A web-based questionnaire containing 36 questions was sent to all KFAS members in September 2021. The questions were mainly related to the preferred techniques and clinical experiences in the treatment of patients with syndesmotic injuries. Answers with a prevalence ≥50% of respondents were considered a tendency. Results: Seventy-six (13.8%) of the 550 members responded to the survey. The results showed that the most preferred method to diagnose a syndesmotic injury was magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Intraoperatively, the external rotation stress test and the Cotton test were most frequently used to confirm syndesmotic diastasis. The reduction was usually done by a reduction clamp. One 3.5-mm screw was used most frequently over three cortices at 2~4 cm above the ankle joint. The preferred ankle position during fixation was 0° dorsiflexion. Removal of the syndesmotic screw was routinely done by most surgeons, mainly because of the limitation of movement and risk of screw breakage. Factors that affect suture button selection included non-rigid fixation which enables adequate fixation, early weight-bearing, and an infrequent need to remove the hardware. Inadequate reduction was considered the main factor that affects poor prognosis. Conclusion: This study proposes updated information about the current trends in the management of syndesmotic injuries in Korea. Consensuses in both the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to patients with syndesmotic injury were identified in this survey study. This study may raise the awareness of the various possible approaches toward the injury and should be used to further establish a standard protocol for the management of syndesmotic injuries.
In this paper, we studied projection mapping, which is being utilized as a digital canvas beyond space and time for theme parks, mega events, and exhibition performances. Since the existing projection technology used for fixed objects has the limitation that it is difficult to map moving objects in terms of utilization, it is urgent to develop a technology that can track and map moving objects and a real-time dynamic projection mapping system based on dynamically moving objects so that it can respond to various markets such as performances, exhibitions, and theme parks. In this paper, we propose a system that can track real-time objects in real time and eliminate the delay phenomenon by developing hardware and performing high-speed image processing. Specifically, we develop a real-time object image analysis and projection focusing control unit, an integrated operating system for a real-time object tracking system, and an image processing library for projection mapping. This research is expected to have a wide range of applications in the technology-intensive industry that utilizes real-time vision machine-based detection technology, as well as in the industry where cutting-edge science and technology are converged and produced.
