This paper presents materials and processing technique to manufacture low viscous strain-hardening cementitious composite which is suitable for structures requiring low viscosity of materials. The micromechanics and fracture mechanics tools coupled with processing techniques were adopted to achieve low viscosity of composites as well as high tensile strain capacity. Optimal volume and length of fibers and interfacial properties between fibers and matrix for composites with tensile strength of 2~3MPa were determined on the basis of the micromechanical analysis and the steady-state cracking theory. Then six mixtures were determined and the experiment was carried out to evaluate the viscosity and uniaxial tensile performance of those. From the test results, it is verified that the strain-hardening cementitious composite with low viscosity suitable for grouting applications in fresh state as well as high ductility over 1.5% in hardened state can be feasible.
Recently, in other.view of underwater concrete construction, special admixture agent of concrete
has been developed for antiwashout of concrete under water with easy carrying out method
in some foreign nations. They had successful cases in experiment and construction and it trend
to use in many cases with many scales. However, in domestic, there was rare record in carrying
out.
In this paper, reference for successful results of experiment and construction about
antiwashout underwater concrete, as variable add of special admixture agent and other agents.
We have carried out property tests of fresh and hardened concrete, certified the properties and
made the antiwashout underwater concrete have enough strength to endure with ea.sy construction.
And we have decided the optimal mix proportion for antiwashout underwater concrete
under standard state.

The synthetic fibers such as polypropylene(PP) and polyvilyl-alcohol(PVA) fiber are poised as a low cost alternative for reinforcement in structural applications. It has been reported that synthetic fiber in cement composites can control restrained tensile stresses and cracks and increase toughness, resistance to impact, corrosion, fatigue and durability. High performance fiber reinforced cementitious composite(HPFRCCs) shows ultra high ductile behavior in the hardened state, because of the fiber bridging properties. Therefore, a variety of experiments have being performed to access the performance of HPFRCCs recently. The research emphasis is on the flexural behavior of HPFRCCs made in synthetic fibers, and how this affects the composite property, and ultimately its strain-hardening performance. Three-point bending tests on HPFECCs are carried out. As the result of the bending tests, HPFRCCs showed high flexural strength and ductility. HPFRCCs made in PVA or Hybrid fiber were, also, superior to PP of singleness. On the other hand, effect of sand volume fraction on HPFRCCs made in PP was insignificant.

Typical high-performance concrete (HPC) mixtures are characterized by low water-cementitious material ratios, high cement contents, and the incorporation of admixtures. In spite of its superior properties in the hardened state, HPC suffers from many practical difficulties such as its sensitivity to early-age cracking (which is associated with self-desiccation and autogenous shrinkage). In this context, conventional curing procedures are not sufficiently effective to address these limitations. In order to overcome this issue, two strategies, which are based on the use of internal reservoirs of water, have been recently developed. One of these strategies is based on the use of lightweight aggregates (LWA), while the other is based on the use of superabsorbent polymers (SAP). This paper studies and compares the efficiency of the LWA and SAP approaches. Moreover, some of the theoretical aspects that should be taken into account to optimize their application for internal curing of HPC are also discussed. Two fine LWA's and one SAP are studied in terms of autogenous deformation and compressive strength. Increasing the amounts of LWAor SAP can lead to a reduction of the autogenous deformation and compressive strength (especially when adding large amounts). By selecting appropriate materials and controlling their amount, size, and porosity, highly efficient internal water curing can be ensured.
Concrete is the most widely used building material all over the world, because of its many technical and economic qualities. This pressure on the concrete resource causes an intensive exploitation of the quarries of aggregates, which results in a exhaustion of these and environmental problems. That is why recycling and valorization of materials are considered as future solutions, to fill the deficit between production and consumption and to protect the environment. This study is part of the valorization process of local materials, which aims to reuse marble waste as fine aggregate (excess loads of marble waste exposed to bad weather conditions) available in the marble quarry of Fil-fila (Skikda, East of Algeria) in the manufacture of self-compacting concretes. It consists of introducing the marble waste as sand into the self-compacting concrete formulation, with variable percentages (25%, 50%, 75% and 100%) and to study the development of its properties both in fresh state (air content, density, slump flow, V-funnel, L-box and sieve stability) as well as the hardened one (compressive strength and flexural strength). The results obtained showed us that marble wastes can be used as sand in the manufacture of self compacting concretes.
Geopolymer concrete is environmentally friendly and could be considered as a construction material to promote the sustainable development. In this paper fly ash based geopolymer concretes with different percentages of alccofine were made by mixing sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate as an alkaline activator and cured at ambient as well as heat environment in an electric oven at $90^{\circ}C$. Effects of various parameters such as the percentage of alccofine, curing temperature, a period of curing, fly ash content, was studied on compressive strength as well as workability of geopolymer concrete. The study concludes that the presence of alccofine improves the properties of geopolymer concrete during a fresh and hardened state of concrete. Geopolymer concrete in the presence of alccofine can be used for the general purpose of concrete as required compressive strength can be achieved even at ambient temperature. The 28 days compressive strength of 73 MPa, when cured at 90-degree Celsius, confirmed that it is also very suitable for precast concrete components.

Rice Husk Ash (RHA) geopolymer paste activated by sodium aluminate were characterized by X-ray diffractogram (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersion X-Ray analysis (EDAX)and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Five series of RHA geopolymer specimens were prepared by varying the Si/Al ratio as 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5. The paper focuses on the correlation of microstructure with hardened state parameters like bulk density, apparent porosity, sorptivity, water absorption and compressive strength. XRD analysis peaks indicates quartz, cristobalite and gibbsite for raw RHA and new peaks corresponding to Zeolite A in geopolymer specimens. In general, SEM micrographs show interconnected pores and loosely packed geopolymer matrix except for specimens made with Si/Al of 2.0 which exhibited comparatively better matrix. Incorporation of Al from sodium aluminate were confirmed with the stretching and bending vibration of Si-O-Si and O-Si-O observations from the FTIR analysis of geopolymer specimen. The dense microstructure of SA2.0 correlate into better performance in terms of 28 days maximum compressive strength of 16.96 MPa and minimum for porosity, absorption and sorptivity among the specimens. However, due to the higher water demand to make the paste workable, the value of porosity, absorption and sorptivity were reportedly higher as compared with other geopolymer systems. Correlation regression equations were proposed to validate the interrelation between physical parameters and mechanical strength. RHA geopolymer shows comparatively lower compressive strength as compared to Fly ash geopolymer.
The recovery of waste proves a solution with two impacts: the environmental impact by the reduction of pollution and the gain of the occupied space by this waste, and the economic impact by the use of these lasts in the building and in the area of public works. The present research consists in recovering a waste marble (thrown powder exposed to the different meteorological phenomena) generated by the quarry marble of Fil-fila, located at the east side of Skikda in the north-east of Algeria, and add it, as sand in the composition of sand concrete. To carry out this research, we analyzed the evolution brought by the substitution of ordinary sand by marble waste sand, with 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% on the properties in the fresh state (density, workability and air content) and in the cured state (compressive strength, tensile strength, surface hardness and sound velocity). For durability we tested water absorption by immersion and chloride penetration. The results obtained are compared with control samples of 0% of substitution rate. In order to have a good filling of the voids in the granular skeleton; we added a quantity of limestone recycled fines from the quarries and for a good workability a super-plasticizing additive. The results showed that the partial substitution modified both the fresh and the hardened characteristics of the tested concretes, the durability parameters also improved.

This study investigated fundamental properties of lightweight foamed concrete using cement kiln dust (CKD) and both fly ash(FA) and stability agent. Test results showed that concrete incorporating more amounts of admixture decreased slump flow and it caused increase of superplasiticizer in order to secure the fluidity performance. In addition concrete adding stability agent showed stable flow state, resisting segregation of materials and decreasing bleeding capacity. Sinking depth of concrete incorporating 20% of CKD and adding 0.002% of stability agent was indicated at 0mm. For the properties of hardened concrete. compressive strength of concrete incorporating CKD declined due to a lower appearance density, compared with other specimens. The difference of that was not very significant and the value of ail specimen was higher than KS range. Moreover strength of concrete incorporating CKD was even higher at curing temperature $5^{\circ}C$. Tensile strength ratio of concrete incorporating CKD was indicated between 0.50 to 0.59, which is higher value than control concrete. Heat conductivity of concrete incorporating FA was under the KS range while concrete incorporating 20% of CKD was satisfied in KS. Concrete adding stability agent improved insulation performance due to the lower heat conductivity. In conclusion, it is possible that concrete incorporating 20% of CKD and adding 0.002% of stability agent can secure high quality of lightweight foamed concrete.
This study is on the properties of inorganic porous calcium silicate material made from silica powder through the autoclaving curing, the results of this study should be utilized fundamental data for the development of noise reduction porous solid material using siliceous byproduct generated by various manufacture process. For the manufacture of autoclave curing specimen, various calcareous materials used and siliceous materials used silica powder. In this study, properties in density and compressive strength according to the change of W/B and C/S ratio, microscopy for the shape of pore, SEM and XRD for the examination of hydrate after autoclave curing are carried out respectively. The test results shown that the more slurry density decrease, the more W/B increase at the fresh state, this tendency shown similar to in hardened state. Among the specimens of C/S ratio, the compressive strength of C/S ratio of 0.85 gave the highest the compressive strength. In the results of XRD, tobermorite generated by autoclaving curing was created all of specimens regardless of C/S ratio. To ascertain pore structure, we compared with existing porous calcium silicate product(ALC, organic sound absorbing porous material). The results of microscope observation, pore structure of specimen of this study was similar to that of existing inorganic sound absorbing foam concrete. therefore, we could conformed a possibility of sound absorbing porous solid material on the basis of the results.
