The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimal conditions for designing tasks appropriate to the elementary classroom based on the correspondence with the national curriculum, integration among four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), authenticity, and interactivity. For this study, two primary English teachers volunteered to participate in the case study conducted in the spring semester of the 2012 school year. Each class observed was composed of 29 and 30 sixth graders (12-year-old learners). Data were collected through classroom observation and lesson plans. Optimality theory was used to analyze data from the lessons. From the findings, the overall ranking of constraints is Curriculum ${\gg}$ Integration ${\gg}$ Authenticity ${\gg}$ Interactivity. It is also shown that for teacher 'L', the tasks such as 'guessing game', 'photo of me', and 'role play' were appropriate to help students ask questions and give reasons for their choices. As for teacher 'C', the tasks such as 'hand spans', 'transport survey', and 'picture telling' needed to be considered in order to help students understand and write comparative sentences.

Most engineering software tools use typical menu-based user interfaces, and they may not be suitable for learning tools because the solution processes are hidden and students can only see the results. An educational tool for simple beam analyses is developed using a pen-based user interface with a computer so students can write and sketch by hand. The geometry of beam sections is sketched, and a shape matching technique is used to recognize the sketch. Various beam loads are added by sketching gestures or writing singularity functions. Students sketch the distributions of the loadings by sketching the graphs, and they are automatically checked and the system provides aids in grading the graphs. Students receive interactive graphical feedback for better learning experiences while they are working on solving the problems.

A fracture of hand held device, such as radio, TV and CD-RW drive, mainly occurs due to drop situation. For CD-RW drive, the need of high reading/writing speed in conjunction with low price accelerates the fracture of the device. Computer simulation can reduce the period of development and enhance impact characteristic of device. In this study, the detailed finite element model of CD-RW drive was developed to predict the damage under drop conditions. Material property for shock absorbing damper was obtained from tensile test of raw material. A MOONEY-RIVLIN type rubber in LS-DYNA was used as the material model of damper. To assess the reliability of the developed model, drop test at 200G-2msec and 150G-10msec condition was conducted and acceleration at pick-up was compared.

최근 강화된 개인정보 보호법으로 인해 개인의 고객정보 이용 및 약관 동의서와 그에 따른 디지털 자필 서명을 필요로 하는 기업이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 고객에게 자필 서명을 받기 위한 플랫폼은 PC, 맥, 안드로이드, 아이폰 등 다양한 디바이스의 호환을 필요로 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이기종 호환 스크립트인 jQuery를 이용하여 HTML5 가 호환되지 않는 PC기반 IE6 이상의 브라우저부터 안드로이드, iOS 등 터치기반 스마트 디바이스의 최신 브라우저까지 모두 호환되는 자필 서명 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다.

With the development of computer music notation programs, when drawing sheet music, it is often drawn using a computer. However, there are still many use of hand-written notations for educational purposes or to quickly draw sheet music such as listening and dictating. In previous studies, OMR focused on recognizing the printed music sheet made by music notation program. the result of handwritten OMR with camera is poor because different people have different writing methods, and lens distortion. In this study, as a pre-processing process for recognizing handwritten music sheet, we propose a method for recognizing a staff using linear regression and a method for recognizing a bar using CNN. F₁ scores of staff recognition and barline detection are 99.09% and 95.48%, respectively. This methodologies are expected to contribute to improving the accuracy of handwriting.

The effects of therapeutic instrumental music performance (TIMP) using a ukulele were examined in adults with central nervous system damage and impaired hand functions. The participants were three adults with neurological damage who participated in 30-min sessions twice a week over 6 weeks. Changes in hand function was measured by the Box and Block Test (BBT), the 9-Hole Peg Test (9-HPT), and the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test (JTHFT). Following the intervention, all three participants showed increases in the BBT and 9-HPT scores, indicating positive changes in fine motor coordination and dexterity. In terms of the JTHFT, all three participants showed increases in the "writing" and "card flipping" subtask scores, indicating that the intervention was effective in improving more coordinated finger movements. All participants reported the satisfaction with the intervention. They also pointed out that they were motivated to play the ukulele and that following the intervention used their affected hand more frequently in daily activities. These findings suggest that TIMP with a ukulele for patients with central nervous system damage can have positive effects on their functional hand movements and motivate these patients to practice their rehabilitation exercises.

It is indispensable for the marine officers who are engaged in the international voyage to make command of maritime English fluently. The Marine Officers Act in Korea which is under ammending in 1989 prescribes the proportion of maritime Englishin English examination is made to be 60% for the 4th and 5th class marine officer-license examination. A concrete syllabus or content of maritime English is not established yet with the exception of a general prescription of minimun knowledge required for certification of marine officers in the IMO/STCW Convention. The authors, who rewrote the maritime English textbook for the course of the fisheries high, schools and the merchant marine high schools, settled the syllabi of nautical English and marine engineering English for the course as follows : 1. The syllabus of nautical English, includes maritime English readings, the IMO English dialogue on port entry, writing of logbooks, night order books, and docking and repair specifications. 2. The syllabus of marine engineering English includes maritime English readings, dialogue on oil supply, writing of engine logbooks and oil record books, standing orders, and docking and repair specifications. The authors propose that the realm of these class marine officer-license examination on maritime English should be limited within in the above mentioned textbook. As maritime English is made to be included in the 4th and 5th marine officer liscence examination since 1989, high schools concerned need to reform the curricula to complete at least 6 units for this subject. On the other hand, the competent authority of this examination must secure questions as much as possible to promote the reliability of them.

There is a limitation of using a small number of input buttons for writing Hangul words on hand-held devices. As a quick and convenient way of implementing Hangul vowels by small number of buttons, we propose a vowel input system in which vowels are fabricated from eight vowels. Our input system supports a fast input speed by making all the diphthong from one or two strokes. It also adopts a multiple input method for diphthong that users can make a diphthong in a user-friendly way of vowel writing formation or pronunciation similarity. Furthermore, we added an error correction functionality for the similar vowels that are caused by vowel harmony rules. When the proposed method is compared to the previous ones, our method outperformed in the input speed and error correction.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the structure and contents of clothing construction field in the middle-school textbook of technology and home economics with curriculum revised in 2007. 10 kinds of textbooks certified by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2010 were selected and home economics field in them was the subject of this study with the external characteristics such as textbook system, instruction area and contents included. This study was content analysis-oriented and descriptive with data calculated by frequency and percentage. The findings are as follows. In 'Reality of Home-Life', food life area showed highest as 34.4% followed by clothing life(28.7%) and dwelling life(28.7%). The portion of present teachers in writing staffs was highest while there was no textbook where professors of each field were included in writing staffs. The contents of costume society, clothes material, clothes management from section 'Choice and Management of Clothes' in the chapter 'Family Life' and clothing construction from the section 'Making and Modifying Clothes' of the chapter 'Reality of Home-Life' were analysed in this study. Clothing construction-related fields were suggested separately by method of measurement, construction theory, drafting theory, drafting an original form, fabric trimming, utilization of the original form, length measure, cloth cutting, hand stitching, how to use a sewing machine, basting and correction, needlework process, completion, and evaluation. The contents of the unit 'Making Shorts' were about clothing construction theory, human body measurement, drafting an original form, process of making shorts and activity/research/experience. The contents of the unit 'Wearing Clothes after Fixing' in clothing construction-related field were about how to fix and recycling.

The essay examines two different editions of Anne Askew's Examinations published in the sixteenth century: John Bale's the First Examination and the Latter Examination and John Foxe's Acts and Monuments, and argues that retelling and rewriting one's experience is the process of storytelling that necessitates the repetition and communication of the experience. The essay looks at the parts the sixteenth-century editors particularly rewrote or retold the original version, and discusses how Askew's story was retold, repeated, and communicated through various storytellers who delivered not only the original text but also the original experience toward larger audience. While attempting to interpret, analyze, and expand on the story she did not tell, or the story she could not tell, Bale and Foxe developed her personal and anecdotal story into a communal narrative to share. Bale wrote a weak woman's martyrology by adding his interpretation and analysis, showing the way for the readers to follow in understanding her enigmatic silence and gestures. On the other hand, Foxe made the story a more dramatic and more seamlessly flowing narrative of the heroic sacrifice of a martyr. Foxe filled the room left by Askew's silence with directly quoted conversations and the graphic that could help explain what was between the lines. Apart from the rewritings of the reformists, the essay focuses on the fact that the editing, rearranging, and reinterpreting process already started with Askew's own writing. Although Askew declares herself an objective recorder of the series of events, her writing is carefully constructed with complex ideological fractures and rhetorical tactics, and her experience is tailored to fit a particular purpose. Along with Bale's and Foxe's rewritings, Askew's story of a reading woman should be also read as an intentional and interpretative storytelling on her own experience.
