실학적(實學的) 의미(意味)에서 본 구암(龜岩) 허 준(許 浚)의 업적(業績) (Gu Am Huh Jun's Achievement in an Aspect of Practical Science)

  • Practical science means open and objective attitude as a new scholarly tone which gets out of Confucianism tradition and its closeness. It is concerned about practical aspect and its thought prevailed from the mid-16th century to the mid-19th century in feudal system. It is, also, the attitude seeking truth based on the facts, which is removed from the falsehood in politics, economics and social life. It is regarded as a social revolution which governs tile country economically and is utilized to stabilize and enrich a human living life. The new academic tradition appeared in the process of development of modernization proclaimed it to be utilized in modern-oriented independency. Modern historians have greatly studied the knowledge of early philosophy, while Korean oriental medicine has developed, basing on the cultivation of the mind, virtue, and benevolence through Han Bak-Keun(who showed much interest in realistic, economic and social system) and Jung Yak-Youg(who compiled all available data into one book). From Ko-Ryo dynasty to the mid-Yi dynasty Korean oriental medicine scholars struggled to develop oriental medicine in an attitude searching truth based on the facts. Among them Huh Jun's achievements and the content of his writings suggest any things with a view of practical science. These are neglected by most scholars so far, but I have surveyed as follows : 1) the revolution in oriental medical science system 2) the standardization of pharmacy appliance 3) the popularization of medicine supplies 4) cooperation of industry and academy in medical science field From the above I concluded as follows : practical science in Korean medical science began from Ko-Ryo dynasty and compiled in Ku Am Huh Jun in the period of King Sun-Jo of Li dynasty. With this repect, the pioneer in practical science in Korea is Ku Am Huh Jun. To search tile pioneer in practical science rightly we should study the history of Korean medical science.

조선후기(朝鮮後期) 충청도(忠淸道) 전의현(全義縣) 관아건축(官衙建築)의 배치구성(配置構成)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Site Layout of ChungChong-Do Chonui-hyon Government Office in the Late Chosen Dynasty)

  • This study is to analyze site layout traditional government office building focused on Chonui-hyon(全義縣) in Chungchong province with Chungchong-do regional maps(忠淸道地方地圖) and Eupjis(邑誌, topography) being compiled in the late Chosun dynasty. The conclusion of analysis can be summarized as follows; 1. Chonui-hyon(全義縣) in Chosun dynasty is gone with a planning principle of the capital city(Han-Seong, 漢城) with disposing Sa-Ji-Dan(社稷壇) and Gaek-Sa(客舍), which are placed to the left and right of Eupchi(邑治), and it is followed in the wake of the spatial structure of Chosun dynasty palace with disposing Dong-Heon(東軒) in front, Nae-A(內衙) at the back of it, or from side to side, also by the Dong-Heon of the center, with organizing each facility around it. 2. Dong-Heon and Gaek-Sa of Chonui-hyon is passed through three step gate, Mun-Ru(門樓), Woi-Sammun(外三門), Nae-Sammun(內三門), from Hong-Salmon(紅門), and are shown hierarchy by haying been placed at the end of approach axis. 3. Dong-Heon can be disposed by Feng-Shui(風水) which have influence on the southeast direction with Jin-San(鎭山) and An-Dae(案對), on the other hand, Gaek-Sa can be disposed by symbolic of the authority of a king. 4. Site layout by function of provincial government office is provided into four ferrite, Dong-Heon, Gaek-Sa, Nae-A, practical business territory, and eve territory is organized by official institution on a social position to radiation, by the compositive axis to be made Woi-Sammun Nae-Sammun Dong-Heon Nae-A 5. Approach process of Chnui-hyon government office is three door system similar to Kam-Young(監營) in a different way two door system in most provincial government office, also approach axis is formed by bending.

  • From all possible chinese medical literatures, I studied the history of chinese pediatrics by dividing into Chunqiu Zhanguo, QinHan dynasties, LiangJin, SuiTang five dynasties, Song Dynasty, Jin and Yuan dynasties, Ming Qing dynasties. The conclusions are summarized as followings 1. The mentions related with pediatrics existed already in Yan ruins turtle shell letters, and 〈Yellow Emperor's classic of internal medicine> in Chunqiu Zhanguo time formed the system of medicine, established the theoretical foundation. 2. Chang Ji established the system of diagnosis and treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and signs in , and later pediatricians commonly applied his prescriptions to the febrile diseases. 3. The period from LiangJin to SuiTang, Pediatrics was established as special department then in , Chao Yuanfang stated the etiology, pathogenesis, symptomatology of pediatric diseases. 4. In Song dynasty. pediatric 4 major, symptoms that had been mentioned from SuiTang dynasties, were clearly established, pediatrical special books were published, and written by Qian Yi who is considered as the founder of chinese pediatrics, established the foundation of pediatrical division formation in distinction from adult fields. 5. In Jin and Yuan dynasties, four eminent physicians established the actual relationship between the theories and practical applications and insisted various and creative theories based on the classical medicine, for example, the theory that fire and heat in the body was the main cause of diseases of Liu Wansu purgation theory of Zhang Congzheng, qi regulating theory of Liu Gao, ministerial fire theory and the theory that yang is ever in excess while Yin is ever deficient of Zhu Zhenheng, etc, and they applied those theories to pediatrical various sides. 6, In Ming Qing dynasties, pediatrical specialists and pediatrical publications had increased, eg, father and son Xue Kai Xue Ji, Wan Quan, Lu Bai-si, etc in Ming dynasty, Ye Gui, Chen Fuzheng, Xia Ding, etc in Qing dynasty were famous as pediatricians. Specially, the doctrine of epidemic febrile diseases at that time showed prominent effects to children's epidemic febrile diseases.

  • As compared with acupuncture, The moxibustion occurred differently in the background of formation and also disagreed in the process of development. From the Jin(晉) dynasty to the Song(宋) dynasty, The school that attached importance to moxibustion had occupied superority by far and had schemed the development of moxibustion. But after the Song(宋) dynasty, The school that attached importance to acupuncture rose. Therefore, The school that attached importance to moxibustion, even if the power decreased, still had kept in existence and had achieved the development of moxibustion. Especially, Among the chinese physicians that recognized "Moxibustion can cure all disease, so don't discuss the weakness the firmness the chills the fever and cauterize the skin" till the Song(宋) dynasty, Ge Hong(葛洪) put in order the basic theory for moxibustion in (A handbook of prescriptions for emergencies). Wang Tao(王燾) only respected the moxibustion and said "Moxibustion has a strange effect, then all acupuncture herb-med(medical decoction) herb-ex are unattainable to it" in volume 14 (Medical secrets of an official). 조선 전기 독서당의 건축 양식적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Architectural Style of Dogsedang in early period of Chosun Dynasty)

  • The purpose of this study is to clearify the architectural pattern of the Dogsedang(讀書堂) and it's characteristics of the Place which based on the historical background of the Saga-reagingsystem(陽假讀書制度) in the early Chosun Dynasty. The Saga-reaging(賜暇讀書) was given vacation to read books for young scholars who serve in a Royal institution chartered an academic society that we call the Giphyunjeun(集賢默). Due to the consciousness of preference about the old Documment on the history of Chosun Dynasty such as, whangchoshillok(朝蘇王朝實錄) and giligie(地理誌) and so on, I could find a clue that would lead to the solution of the problem. So to speak the division into periods about historical background of the Saga-reagingsystem(賜暇讀書制度) is analysed by questionnaire of scholars who is in. By the analysis, there were two types of the Saga-reagingsystem(賜暇讀書制度) and three places in the Dogsedang(讀書堂). Vacation to read books at the single schalor's home is we called jaegadogse(在家讀書), reading area at the temple in the deep mountain district is the Sansadogse(山寺讀書). The first place reading area at the temple in the deep mountain district was the temple of Jinkwan(律寬寺), the second place was the temple of Jangyue(藏義寺) the third was the temple of youngsan(龍山寺) so called the Namhodang(南湖堂). There is a certain difference of viewpoint with each site. These results show that the site of the Dogsedang(讀書堂) has deep consideration in relation with picturesque scenery.

  • 본고는 촉한(蜀漢)의 무장(武將)에서 출발하여 신(神)으로 추앙받고 있는 관우의 생명력을 역대 왕조의 정치적 측면에서 찾았다. 관우는 위진남북조(魏晉南北朝) 시대에는 일개 장군으로 묘사되었지만, 수당(隋唐) 시대를 거치며 무성왕묘(武成王廟) 종사(從祀)를 통해 국가 사전(祀典)에 편입되었고, 다시 송원(宋元)시대에는 '후(侯)'에서 '공(公)'으로, 다시 '공(公)'에서 '왕(王)'으로 신분의 급상승을 이루었다. 관우 신격화가 절정에 이른 명청(明淸) 시대에 이르면, '왕(王)'을 넘어 '제(帝)'로 등극하면서 삼계(三界)를 통섭하는 최고의 권능을 부여받게 된다. 그는 백성에서부터 사대부에 이르기까지 생활신앙과 도덕 정신에 영향을 미쳤고, 결국은 정신적 수호신(守護神)으로 존재할 수 있었다. 역사상 통치자가 관우(關羽)에게 내린 봉호(封號)는 다양했지만, 그 속에는 국가의 재난 해소와 봉건통치의 유지와 보호라는 정치적 필요성이 깔려 있었다.

  • To analyze tablewares and table flowers in wedding ceremonies of king and royal prince (1866, 1906) of Chosun dynasty, the author studied the historic book-Gare Dogam Euigwae, in which wedding feast dishes for king and prince in Chosun Dynasty were described. The results obtained from the study were as follows. 1. Tablewares used for wedding ceremony in the year of 1866, 1096 were same as that of from the year 1744 till 1819. 2. For wedding feast dishes for the prince, black lacquered table was used, for the crown prince's wedding feast red lacquered table and for the Emperor's wedding feast yellow lacquered table were used. 3. Table flowers used for wedding ceremony in the year of 1866, 1906 were same as that of from the year 1744 till 1819.

  • This study was designed to establish Korean food culture by analizing in sets of Jinyounuigue, Jinchanuigue, and Jinjarkuigue which were the records of royal party procedures in Yi-dynasty. Korean rice cakes were classified into 13 groups in this study; mesirudock 15, chasirudock 12, hapbyung 1, hybyung 1, japkwabyung 1, joak 7, danja 4, sansam 3, jeoungbyung 1, hybyung 1, japkwabyung 1, joak 7, danja 4, sansam 3, jeoungbyung 1, julbyung 5, gapibyung 1, hwajun 1, sanbyung 1 etc. all of 53 different kinds of Korean rice cakes. Food materials were highly milled rice, milled glutinous rice, small red beans, soybeans, chestnuts, jujube, pinenuts, jinkgonut, powder of shingamcho, manna lichen, laver, cinnamon, starch, mugwore, honey, sesamoil, pepper, wine, natural red color, natural yellow color etc.

아시아속의 한국어장문화(韓國魚醬文化)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Study of Eh-jang (Korean Fermented Aquatic Products) Culture in Asia)

  • Eh-jang (fermented aquatic products) of Asia can be classified 4 groups, those are Chot-kal (salted fish guts), Chot-kal Paste, Eh-ganjang (fish sauce) and Shic-hae (lactic acid fermented fish products). The native place of Eh-jang and rice culture is almost same and Eh-jang had been spread out all the area of Asia along with rice culture. Korea has variety of Chot-gal and consumes much Chot-gal that Korea is the culture area of both soybean sauce and Chot-gal. Eh-ganjang had been edible all area of Korea during Chosun Dynasty, but it remains only Southern part of Korea. Korean Chot-gal paste is produced as a form of Kon-chang-yi-chot. Korean Shic-hae had been edible all area of Korea during Chosun Dynasty, but remains at the east coast and some area of Hwang-hae Do and Kyung-sang-nam-do.

조선조(朝鮮朝)의 궁중음식건기(宮中飮食件記)에 관한 고찰(考察) (Study on the Food Menu in the Royal Palace of Chosun Dynasty)

  • Among the 160 documentes on Food menu in the Royal palace of Chosun Dynasty, 137 are cherished by the Academy of Korean study (old Chang Su Gack) and 23 by privates. We can find the other 2 documentes in biliography but they do not exist now. Most of them were written in Korean in the period between 1863 and 1937. Through them, we can learn how to set a meal table for people who served on wedding feast, the birth of Royal family and the national events, and several small feasts and ancestrial rites of Royal palace. And the food menu in them are based on Korean food.
