A dispersion map was proposed to improve the compensation effect of a distorted WDM (wavelength division multiplexed) channel in a dispersion-managed link coupled with optical phase conjugation. The dispersion map is an origin-symmetric structure around the optical phase conjugator in the middle of the transmission path. In addition, the dispersion map has a form in which a constant dispersion accumulation pattern is repeated regularly. Through simulation, we confirmed that the application of the origin-symmetric dispersion map with a repetitively shaped configuration was more effective in compensating for the distorted WDM channel than in the dispersion-managed link with a conventional dispersion map. In addition, we confirmed that the compensation effect could be increased when the cumulative dispersion distribution of the origin-symmetric distribution map had a positive value in the first half section and a negative value in the second half section. Further, we observed that as the number of repeated dispersion accumulation patterns increased, the residual dispersion per span should also be increased.

A gradient matrix method in conjunction with the transmission-reflection method to determine the complex permittivity and permeability of a microwave material is presented. This method does not incur the phase ambiguity due to an improper sample length, and is applicable to the measurement of low-loss materials of a half wavelength. A gradient matrix for a coaxial cable sample is derived, and the results are illustrated.

Diffraction patterns of the copolarized and the crosspolarized total electric fields by a spherical air cavity in a dielectric medium are analyzed in the forward near-field region when the wavelength of the incident plane wave is comparable to one half of the cavity radius. It is shown that double nulls and dips of the copolarized and the crosspolarized total electric fields exist in the measurement plane tansverse to the propagating direction of the incident field, and their dependences on the frequency, the distance of the measurement plane, and the measurement angle are analyzed.

This paper presents a CPW patch antenna with $\lambda/2$ CPW transmission lines. Through the full-wave simulation and the equations of gap capacitance, the dimensions of the CPW transmission lines and resonance circuit components are extracted. Using extracted dimensions, we designed and implemented CPW patch antennas in the range of frequency of 5GHz.

A design procedure for microstrip bandpass filters using step impedance resonators (SIR's) and tapped input/output to a conventional parallel coupled line bandpass filter is presented. The filter configuration consisting of both half-wavelength and SIR's suppreses to spurious resonance response near the second harmonics, while tapping techniques offer benefit in situations where the impractical. The measured frequency responses of the designed filter are in close agreement with the computed responses.

A new pathlength deviation detection technique which is composed of michelson interferometer is described and verified experimentally. The technique uses a sub-threshold biased visible laser diode of 20$\mu$m coherence length as a low-coherent light source. And for zeroth-order fringe(which is the largest among fringes) identification we used a piezoelectric transducer with a large modulation smplitude, which enables without the need of constant velocity scanning, to distinguish reflection surfaces separated by more than 10$\mu$m with a resolution of less than half-wavelength.

We consider electromagnetic field radiation properties of a current filament placed at the origin of a cylindrical frequency selective surface (CFSS). The CFSS consists of free standing metal strips with two-dimensional periodicity. The analysis is based on a cylindrical Floquet mode wave expansion technique. We observed that near the half wavelength resonance frequencies, there exist some specific frequencies at which the surface becomes totally transparent.

Exactly aclculated antenna factors are requeired for determining EMI levels in an actual radiated emission test. In this paper, the antenna factors of short dipole antennas above the ground plane are calculated theoretically for the antenna with Roberts balun specified ANSI C63.5 regulation. Also treated is a half-wavelength dipole antenna with Roberts balun to compare the antenna factors with those of resonant dipole antenna. In formulationof antenna factors the antenna is treated as the boundary value problem of Maxwells equations and is analyzed by the Galerkins method of moments. The balun is treated using circuit theory based on power transmission mismatch.

본 연구는 마비성 독소 표준물질의 안정적인 공급을 위해 친환경적이고 경제성이 우수한 발광다이오드 광원의 파장을 이용하여, PST의 원인종 Alexandrium catenella와 A. pacificum의 독 함량을 증대시킬 수 있는 가능성을 살펴보았다. 파장별 광량과 생장속도의 관계를 보면, 반포화상수(Ks)는 두 종 모두 적색파장에서 가장 높게 나타났고, 청색파장에서 가장 낮았다. 빛 파장에 따른 독함량의 경우, 적색 파장이 A. catenalla은 최고 약 8배 그리고 A. pacificum은 약 3.4배 다른 파장보다 높았다. 그리고 광량에 대한 친화성을 나타내는 Ks와 독농도와 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 세포당 독농도 증가를 위한 배양법은 초기에 세포수량의 확보 및 빠른 생장속도를 유도하기 위해서 청색파장을, 대수생장기 후기에는 적색파장을 주사하여, 세포내 독함유량을 증가시킬 수 있는 2단계 배양법을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
