공명관식 열음향 냉동기의 최적설계를 위한 수치모사 및 설계인자 분석 (Numerical Simulation and Analysis for Optimum Design of a Thermoacoustic Refrigerator)

  • Basic refrigeration effect and efficiency of a thermoacoustic refrigerator is studied. The refrigerator model for numerical simulation is composed of half wavelength resonator and appropriate stack of plate. Theoretical model for thermoacoustic refrigeration suggested by Swift et. al is adapted for numerical calculation. The model contains arbitrary viscosity effect of the gas filled in the resonator. The wave equation is integrated by using 4-th order Runge-Kutta algorithm to give pressure distribution along the stack of plate. Heat flux and COP are also calculated based on the energy flux equation. By analyzing the numerical simulation results, optimum values of design parameters for thermoacoustic refrigerator are obtained.

  • A superconducting ion-Linac (iLinac), which is supposed to work as the injector in the High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility project, is under development at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. The iLinac is a superconducting heavy ion linear accelerator approximately 100 meters long and contains 96 superconducting cavities in two types of 17 cyromodules. Two types of superconducting resonators (quarter-wave resonators with a frequency of 81.25 MHz and an optimal beta β = v/c = 0.07 called QWR007 and half-wave resonators with a frequency of 162.5 MHz and an optimal beta β = 0.15 called HWR015) have been investigated. The cavity design included extensive multi-parameter electromagnetic simulations and mechanical analysis, and its results are described in details. The fundamental power coupler and cavity dynamic tuner designs are also presented in this article. The prototypes are under manufacturing and expected to be ready in 2023.

열음향파 발생장치의 최적 작동 조건에 대한 실험적 연구 (Study of Optimum Operating Conditions of Thermal Acoustic Generator)

  • 본 연구에서는 열음향 시스템의 음향파 출력에 대한 주요한 기하학적 변수에 대해 다루고 있다. 음향파의 출력은 스택의 위치와 스택의 길이, 입력 파워와 공진기의 길이에 의존한다. 본 실험을 통하여 최고의 실험 조건을 얻을 수 있었다. 실험결과에 의하면 최고 음압레벨은 폐쇄된 부분에서 공진기길이의 1/4 -1/2지점 사이에 스택을 위치시켰을 때, 공진기와 스택의 길이가 길 때, 그리고 입력전압이 증가할 때 나타난다. 또한 주파수의 경우 공진기의 길이가 200mm일 때 437Hz, 100mm일 때 885Hz를 기록하였다. 연구 결과 공진기의 길이가 짧을수록 더 높은 주파수를 얻을 수 있는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • 기체-액체형 분사기를 사용하는 고성능 로켓엔진을 위하여 공명기로서의 분사기의 역할을 연구하였다. 단일 분사기가 장착된 연소기에서의 음향 거동을 상온 선형 음향해석을 통해 조사하였다. 음향감쇠 효과는 분사기 길이에 따른 감쇠인자를 통해 정량화되었다. 계산 결과, 분사기는 음향 감쇠에 있어 큰 역할을 하며, 최적의 분사기 길이는 감쇠시키고자 하는 음향 주파수에 대한 반파장 길이에 해당함을 알 수 있었다. 배플이 장착된 연소기에서, 상온 조건과 실제 연소 상황의 조건을 설정하여 각 조건에 대해서 배플길이에 따른 최적 분사기 길이의 변화를 계산하여 제시하였다.

  • The acoustic optimization of a swirl coaxial jet injector mounted upstream a combustion chamber is investigated to tackle combustion instabilities. The least damped modes are extracted with the help of the dynamic mode decomposition (DMD). The sensitivity of the heat release perturbation to the velocity perturbation for the second longitudinal mode is investigated by combining the Crocco's equation and the inhomogeneous wave equation and computing the flame transfer function (FTF). DMD and FTF results agree in terms of the optimized injector length.

  • As a part of R&D work for the high intensity proton linac of China Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System project, a superconducting half-wave cavity with a frequency of 162.5 MHz and an optimal beta of 0.15 (HWR015) has been developed at Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. In this paper, the design and test results will be described in detail. We introduced a new stiffening strategy for the HWR cavity, the simulation results show that the cavity has much lower frequency sensitivity coefficient (df/dp), Lorentz force detuning coefficient (KL), and can achieve more stable mechanical properties. The performance of the HWR cavity operated in cryostat will be also reported.

Role of Am Piezoelectric Crystal Orientation in Solidly Mounted Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators

  • To investigate the effect of AIN c-axis orientation on the resonance performance of film bulk acoustic wave resonators, solidly mounted resonators with crybtallographically different AIN piezoelectric films were prepared by changing only the bottom electrode surface conditions. As increasing the degree of c-axis texturing, the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient ($\kappa$$\_$eff/)$^2$ in resonators increased gradually. The least 4 degree of full width at half maximum in an AIN(002) rocking curve, which corresponds to $\kappa$$^2$$\_$eff/ of above 5%, was measured to be necessary for band pass filter applications in wireless communication system. The longitudinal acoustic wave velocity of AIN films varied with the degree of c-axis texturing. The velocity of highly c-axis textured AIN film was extracted to be about 10200 n/s by mathematical analysis using Matlab.

유연성 기판을 사용한 광대역 메타 흡수체 (A Broad-Band Metamaterial Absorber Using Flexible Substrate)

  • 본 논문에서는 유연성 기판을 이용한 새로운 광대역 메타물질 구조의 흡수체를 제안하였다. 제안된 메타 물질 구조의 단위 셀은 유연성 있는 폴리이미드 기판 위의 동일 평면상에 놓여진 ELC 공진기와 cut-wire 구조로 이루어졌으며, 설계 주파수 대역 밖에서 레이더 단면적(RCS) 값을 감소시키기 위하여 제안된 구조의 금속 패턴 층은 입사 전자파의 진행 방향과 평행하게 놓았다. 총 $33{\times}45$개의 단위 셀들의 배열로 이루어진 흡수체 시작품을 제작하고, 측정한 결과, 주파수 9.06 및 15.0 GHz에서 각각 92 % 및 93 % 이상의 최대 흡수율과 75 %의 full-width at half-maximum 대역폭을 나타내었다. 제안된 금속 접지 판이 없는 메타물질 구조는 마이크로파 주파수대 광대역 흡수체로 곡면 구조에도 응용이 가능하다.

Cool-down test of HWR cryomodule for RAON

  • The heavy ion accelerator that will be built in Daejeon utilizes four types of superconducting cavities. Cryomodules holding the superconducting cavities in them supply thermal insulation for cavities operating in 4.3 K or 2.1 K. A Prototype of cryomodule which holds two HWR (Half Wave Resonator) cavities was fabricated and tested. Since the operating temperature of the HWR is 2.1 K, the superfluid helium was generated with warm vacuum pumping system. The cyromodule was successfully cooled down below lambda point temperature of helium and any detectable leak was not observed during the test. The static thermal load at 4.2 K was measured. The result and the experience for the cool-down below lambda point of helium are reported in this paper.

  • Low temperature test for half-wave resonator (HWR) cryomodule is performed at the superfluid helium temperature of 2 K. The effective temperature is defined for non-uniform temperature distribution. Helium leak detection techniques are introduced for cryogenic system. Experimental set up is shown to make the low temperature test for the HWR cryomodule. The cooldown procedure of the HWR cryomodule is shown from room temperature to 2 K. The cryomodules is precooled with liquid nitrogen and then liquid helium is supplied to the helium reservoirs and cavities. The pressure of cavity and chamber are monitored as a function of time. The vacuum pressure of the cryomodule is not increased at 2 K, which shows leak-tight in the superfluid helium environment. Static heat load is also measured for the cryomodule at 2.5 K.
