This work was intended to study the cutting graph and vibratory phenomina of a newly developed mower which may be suitable for mowing agricultural product having large and hard stems like corn and sugar beet. The system consists of cutter-bar having Curvilinear-translation motion, which attached to drag-crank mechanism. The motion of equation developed for experimental vibratory system which equipped with the cutter-bar system was established and the parameters defining the system's vibratory motion were experimentally determined. The optimum balancing weight for the cutter-bar am vibratory characteristics of the cutter-bar for various counterweight were analyzed to provide the design and operational conditions. The results of the study are summarized as follows; (1) The cutting graph by the new cutter-bar system depends upon the magnitude of ratio of forward travel(Vm) to crank speed (R$\omega$); The cutting pitch for Vm/R$\omega$ 1 (whole cycle cutting) and Vm/R$\omega$=2/$\pi$ (a half cycle cutting) are 2$\pi$ Vm and 4R, respectively. (2) The experimental vibratory system had been proved to function adequately so that it can be used in determining the required counterweight to minimize the vibratory motion of cutter-bar. (3) Experimentally determined counterweight to give the least vibratory motion was a little greater than the theoretically determined one. With the optimum counterweight it was possible to reduce up to about 87% of the amplitude without counterweight, which may be considered to be within safe operational region. (4) To avoid the actual operation of the cutter-bar at resonance which occured in low frequency ratio, it was considered that the rotational speed of the crank for a specific design of mower should be determined separately in connection with the desired cutting graph.
In the recent years, environmentally conscious design and manufacturing technologies have attracted considerable attention. The coolants, lubricants, solvents, metallic chips and discarded tools from manufacturing operations will harm our environment and the earth's ecosystem. In the present work, the Tukey method of multiple comparisons is used to select the minimum level of coolant required in a turning process. The amount of coolant is varied in 270 designed experiments and the parameters cutting temperature, surface roughness, and specific cutting energy are carefully evaluated. The effects of coolant mix ratio as well as the amount of coolant on the turning process are studied in the present work. The cutting temperature and surface roughness for different quantity of coolant are investigated by analysis of variance (ANOVA) - test and a multiple comparison method. ANOVA-test results signify that the average tool temperature and surface roughness depend on the amount of coolant. Based on Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) method, one of the multiple comparison methods, the minimum level of coolant is 1.0 L/min with 2% mix ratio in the aspect of controlling tool temperature. F-test concludes that the amount of coolant used does not have any significant effect on specific cutting energy. Finally, Tukey method ascertains that 0.5 L/min with 6% mix ratio is the minimum level of coolant required in turning process without any serious degradation of the surface finish. Considering all aspects of cutting, the minimum coolant required is 1.0 L/min with 6% mix ratio. It is merely half the coolant currently used i.e. 2.0 L/min with 10% mix ratio. Minimal use of coolant not only economically desirable for reducing manufacturing cost but also it imparts fewer hazards to human health. Also, sparing use of coolant will eventually transform the turning process into a more environment-conscious manufacturing process.
This study was carried out to examine the influence of shading and root-cutting on the survival and growth of Pinus koraiensis seedlings. 1, The highest survival percentage of seedlings transplanted to transplanting bed appeared at the plot of 19% in shading. The 50% of the seedlings were survived if half of them were root-cutting. 2. Shoot elongation, root growth and diameter increment were the best at the plot of 100% in relative light intensity. However, those were the best at the plot with 1/4 root cutting. 3. The increase of needle fascicle number and the growth of needle surface area per seedling were the longest at the plot of 63% relative light intensity. Among root cutting treatments the 1/4 cutting plot showed the largest growth of needle areas.
This paper investigates cutting qualities after laser dicing and predicts the problems that can be generated by laser dicing. And through 3 point bending test, die strength is measured and the die strength after laser dicing is compared with the die strength after mechanical sawing. Laser dicing is chiefly considered as an alternative to overcome the defects of mechanical sawing such as chipping on the surface and crack on the back side. Laser micromachining is based on the thermal ablation and evaporation mechanism. As a result of laser dicing experiments, debris on the surface of wafer is observed. To eliminate the debris and protect the surface, an experiment is done using a water soluble coating material and ultrasonic. The consequence is that most of debris is removed. But there are some residues around the cutting line. Unlike mechanical sawing, chipping on the surface and crack on the back side is not observed. The cross section of cutting line by laser dicing is rough as compared with that by mechanical sawing. But micro crack can not be seen. Micro crack reduces die strength. To measure this, 3 point bending test is done. The die strength after laser dicing decreases to a half of the die strength after mechanical sawing. This means that die cracking during package assembly can occur.
Solar energy had become the main energy industry of renewable energy along with hydroelectric power generation. One of the technologies that contributed to the popularization of photovoltaic power and the decrease in the unit price of photovoltaic modules was the large-area solar cell. However, as the area increased, the light receiving area increased and the current value increased accordingly. Since power loss occurs when the current value was large, the number of busbar was increased to increase the current collection rate, and a technology to lower the current value through half-cutting was developed. The bus bar of the solar cell served as a passage through which the generated current was transmitted. This was because when the number of busbar decreases, the moving distance of electrons increased, so the amount of power generation decreases and when it increases, shadows occured. An important aspect of the electrode design was the optimal balance of these busbars and number of fingers. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of the solar cell according to the number of front bus bars of the large-area solar cell were simulated using Griddler 2,5 pro. After selecting the number of busbar with the best characteristics, the difference was compared by varying the number of fingers and a better direction for the number of cutting was presented.
Hoein Hyanggyo is a confucian shrine at Hoein, Boeungun, Chungbuk, Korea. Using tree rings, we dated its lecture hall, Myengryundang which is a two-storied wooden structure with half-gabled and half-hipped roof. The woods of Myengryundang consisted mainly of lard pine (probably, Pinus densiflora). We collected 27 samples (4 columns, 2 beams, 5 purlins, 4 capitals, 8 floor frames/boards and 4 others). The results indicated that the major cutting year was A.D. 1702. This date helped to correct the miswritten Chinese-calender date which was recorded in the document for the framework-raising ceremony.

In this paper, to develop a smart CAD/CAM system for systematically performing from the 3-D solid shape design of products to the CNC cutting operation of products by a machining center, a B-Rep solid modeler is realized based on the half edge data structure. Because the B-Rep solid modeler has the various capabilities related to the solid definition functions such as the creation operation of primitives and the translational and rotational sweep operation, the solid manipulation functions such as the split operation and the Boolean set operation, and the solid inversion function for effectively using the data structure, the 3-D solid shape of products can be easily designed and constructed. Also, besides the automatic generation of CNC code, the B-Rep solid modeler can be used as a powerful tool for realizing the automatic generation of finite elements, the interfer- ence check between solids, the structural design of machine tools and robots and so on.

This paper proposed correction tone density eq. and dot area eq. for perdict tone reproduction when dot gain is constant, and these are based on Yule & Nielson`s tone density equation. The experimental results show that proposed coreaction tone density eq. and dot area eq. are useful and valid for perdict tone reproduction of a half-tone image.

Forest in the our country is in the age that needs positive operation in order to foster economical forest. Multiple operations for making valuable forest should be conducted steadily and timely from afforestation to harvesting. In order to execute these kinds of forest operations, the construction of skid trail network that can be effectively used as a pathway for forestry machine and working space is necessary. To investigate facility effect of skid trail network, we executed the location of skid trail network through centroid method by GIS for 50ha of harvesting workplace in mechanized model forest located in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province. As a result of this research, skid trail density in this area changed from 79m/ha with current method to 42m/ha with improved method. It appeared that skid trail density with improved method is nearly half of current method even though the cutting area is the same as the current cutting area. Also, skidding distance changed from 117m with current method to 57m with improved method. It appears that skidding distance with improved method is nearly half of current method even though cutting area was enlarged in adjacent tending cutting area.
