  • It is now widely recognized that new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been changing the way tv which firms conduct their businesses. Examples are the application of enterprise resources planning (ERP) and business process reengineering (BPR) to increase the efficiency of internal resources management, adoption of Business-to-Business e-commerce (B2B e-com) to integrate supply chain, and invention of new marketing channels such as Business-to-Customer (B2C) e-com. These new ways of conducting businesses are believed to help firms to reduce transaction costs and increase productivity. As a result, new ICTs have played an important role in recent growth of many small firms into multi-functional and multi-product corporations and in their spatial expansion towards internationalization as well. This paper takes Haier in China as a case to study the role of new ICTs in the growth of firms and reveal how the new technologies have facilitated the expansion of Haier into a transnational corporation (TNC) by examining the internationalization process of the firm in relation to its adoption of new ICTs in the period from 1990 to 2002. The study reveals that the adoption of new Ins has helped Haier to integrate its functional units located in dozens of places across the world, which is essential to the internationalization of a firm, and to link closely together its worldwide suppliers and customers to achieve just-in-time (JIT) production and delivery. As such, the authors of the paper argue that, without the facilitation of new ICTS, Haier could not have developed into a TNC in less than ten years. It is now widely recognized that new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been changing the way tv which firms conduct their businesses. • The change of the global environment, especially the development of the communication and transportation and the decrease of the trade barrier promotes the progress of globalization. Under this background, the globalization progress of Chinese electronic firms is also pushed forward, compared with the early firms, which is being quickly shortened. This study has some purposes. First, this tries to investigate the growth process of the Chinese electronics firms, by which reveals the progress of the global competition ability and the background of promoting their rapid globalization. Second, this study estimates and analyzes the implemented process of Haier's globalization strategy, which is the Chinese most representative global Firm. Finally, this article elaborates the globalization of Chinese firms and the apocalypse of the Korean firms and also shows the corresponding projects for them.

  • according to rapid development in current industrial technologies, technology alone is no longer the only competitive factor among the manufacture companies. The value of innovation in product design has increased important attention to more consumers. This paper demonstrates the methodology of design strategy through the case studies of successful washing machine manufacturers on the China's Market. By the so called 4PS comparison of Haier washing machines with those of Siemens and Little Swan, this paper shows the difference of Haier's design strategy with other competitors, and offers a methodology of systematically analyzing strategic design and successfully develops a framework of design strategy.

R & D Networks Structure and Spatial Characteristics of Consumer Electronic Industry in Qingdao, China: The Case Study of Qingdao Haier Group in China (중국 가전산업의 연구개발 네트워크 구조와 공간적 특징 - 청도 하이얼(海爾, Haier) 그룹 사례 연구 -)

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze R&D networks and spatial implications in Qingdao consumer electronics industry agglomeration in China. The characteristics of R&D networks in Qindao consumer electronic industry are as follows. There is a cluster central around large enterprises led by the government and their subcontracting enterprises. However, the degree of collaborative networks in intra-firm, inter-firm, firm-research institutes(including university lab.) is relatively low. Therefore, Large enterprises in Qingdao has stimulated research collaborations with firms and research institutes located in other regions rather than within region. It is likely to show that R&D networks of consumer electronics industry has not been stimulated in Qingdao. Therefore, collaborative R&D networks among firms, research institutes and governments should be stimulated to build regional innovation systems central around consumer electronics industry in Qingdao.

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the impact of national and corporate brand image of Korea on chinese consumers' purchasing Intention, also the impact of China on korean consumers' purchasing Intention. And the second aim of the research is to provide Korean businessmen who are interested in chinese market with information about chinese consumers' purchasing behaviour. Data from 205 chinese and korean consumers were analysed. As the result of analyses, it was found that Korean country image positive affects corporate brand image(samsung) and Chinese country image negative affects corporate brand image(haier) and product image. Korean corporate brand image only affects product image on chinese consumers. The product image affects Korean and Chinese consumer's purchasing intention.

  • Augmenting-reducing evoked potentials(AREP) were studied in 38 college students to explore the topographic distribution between AR slope and personality. The Zuckerman Seeking Scale(SSS) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) assessed personality. There was a significant positive correlation between AR slope and Extraversion-Introversion(E) in the frontocentral area ; the right posterior area showed a significant negative correlation with E. The Thrill and Adventure Seeking(TAS) subscale showed a significant negative correlation with slope in the right posterior temporal area. The average slope map of all subjects revealed a distribution showing more augmenting in frontocentral areas and more reducing in posterior areas.

  • Objectives: Eyeblinking varied depending on individual cognitive abilities or personality traits thought to related to brain mechanisms of sensory modulation. This study explored whether personality traits are related to the rate of eye blinks and how eyeblink and evoked potential augumenting-reducing(EPAR) interact Methods: Forty four students were studied with EPAR topography to explore how eyeblinks, personality and EPAR interact The Zuckerman Sensation Seeking Scale(SSS) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) were used as personality measured by a stimulus response program during EP study. Results: Rate of blink increased as intensity of light increased. The General(GEN), Thrill and Adventure Seeking(TAS), Experience Seeking(ES) and Disinhibition(DS) subscales in SSS and Extraversion-Introversion(E) subscale in EPQ showed significant negative correlations with number of eyeblinks in the hightest intensity of light, whereas Neuroticism(N) subscales in EPQ showed a positive correlation. Correlation between number of eyeblinks with the brightest light and EPAR slope varied topographically. The strongest positive correlation was noted in right posterior temporal area. Conclusion: High sensation seekers blinked significantly fewer times than lower sensation seeker did. Higher personality correlations with eyeblink than with EP may imply that the eyeblink works as a primary filter since it is more directly related to central mechanisms of sensory modulation than EP. The right posterior temporal area may play an important role in modulation of visual stimuli.

  • Along with rapid development, progress of the network technology and digital information technology, human are stepping into the intelligent society of internet. Thereby the quality of living environment and working environment are keep improving. Under the big background of internet era, the timeliness and convenience of smart home system has been improved greatly. While lots of smart products have gradually penetrated into people's daily life. The household appliances are among most popular ones. This paper is intended to compare smart features of household living products among most representative brands in China, Japan and South Korea. The smart features include self-learning, self-adapting, self-coordinating, self-diagnosing, self-inferring, self-organizing, and self adjusting. As result, most smart features of these products showed great similarity. While some features were dominated according to countries such as remote control feature in Korea, energy saving feature in Japan, and one button operation feature in China.
