  • The Zopheridae Solier consisting of members from three previous families, Zopherinae Solier, Monommatinae Blanchard and Colydiinae Erichson, is considered the taxonomically most challenging group, and comprises more than 1,700 described species worldwide. The members of Zopheridae represent diverse morphological variations, and are difficult to separate morphologically from other tenebrionoid families. Two Zopheridae genera, Colobicus Latreille and Lasconotus Erichson, are identified for the first time in Korea, and two wood-boring species, C. hirtus (Rossi) and L. niponicus (Lewis), are newly reported in the Korean fauna. A key to the genera of Korean Zopheridae, and diagnoses, habitus photographs, and illustrations of diagnostic characters of the two species are provided.

  • A taxonomic study of two omaliine genera Acruliopsis Zerche and Omalium Gravenhorst in Korea is presented. Two species (Acruliopsis ussuriensis Zerche and Omalium japonicum Sharp) are reported for the first time in Korea. Diagnoses of those two genera with redescriptions of the species are presented. Acruliopsis ussuriensis is distinguished by more or less short elytra, a pair of conspicuous processes on male sternite VII and emargination of outer lateral margin of paramere at base. Omalium japonicum is distinguished by brown elytra and structure of aedeagus with swollen median lobe and expanded paramere. Habitus photographs and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.

  • The field-cricket $Turanogryllus$ $eous$ Bey-Bienko, 1956 and its genus $Turanogryllus$ Tarbinsky, 1940 were recorded for the first time from Chungcheongbuk-do province in Korea to carry out the project 'The sound guides to Korean animals.' Depending on the discovery of the cricket, its distributional ranges are more widened towards East Asia to the Korean peninsula from China mainland, the $Turanogryllus$ was 10th to known Gryllinae genera in Korea. Description, photos of habitus, figure of male genitalia, oscillogram and spectrogram for the calling sound are provided for aid identification. • The family Trogossitidae Latreille occurs worldwide, including some Pacific islands. The family contains about 50 genera and 600 described species, and the group was recently classified by Kolibáč into three subfamilies, Lophocaterinae, Peltinae and Trogossitinae. Among the lophocaterine genera, a genus Ancyrona Reitter includes 62 species in most parts of the world except the Nearctic region, and is divided into five informal species groups by Kolibáč. In this study, the genus Ancyrona and its a single species, A. diversa (Pic), is newly reported in the Korean fauna. A diagnosis, habitus photographs, and illustrations of female diagnostic characters are provided, with a key to Palaearctic species of the genus Ancyrona.
