  • In this paper, we propose a real-time face detection/tracking methodology with Haar wavelets and skin color. The proposed method boosts face detection and face tracking performance by combining skin color and Haar wavelets in an efficient way. The proposed method resolves the problem such as rotation and occlusion due to the characteristic of the condensation algorithm based on sampling despite it uses same features in both detection and tracking. In particular, it can be applied to a variety of applications such as face recognition and facial expression recognition which need an exact position and size of face since it not only keeps track of the position of a face, but also covers the size variation. Our test results show that our method performs well even in a complex background, a scene with varying face orientation and so on.

  • In this paper, we propose a Cascade Classifier face detection method using the Haar-like feature, which is complemented by the Flood Fill algorithm for lossy areas due to illumination and shadow in YCbCr color space extraction. The Cascade Classifier using Haar-like features can generate noise and loss regions due to lighting, shadow, etc. because skin color extraction using existing YCbCr color space in image only uses threshold value. In order to solve this problem, noise is removed by erosion and expansion calculation, and the loss region is estimated by using the Flood Fill algorithm to estimate the loss region. A threshold value of the YCbCr color space was further allowed for the estimated area. For the remaining loss area, the color was filled in as the average value of the additional allowed areas among the areas estimated above. We extracted faces using Haar-like Cascade Classifier. The accuracy of the proposed method is improved by about 4% and the detection rate of the proposed method is improved by about 2% than that of the Haar-like Cascade Classifier by using only the YCbCr color space.

  • Ear detection in an image processing is the one of the important area in biometrics. In this paper we propose a human ear detection algorithm with side face images. First, we search a face candidate area in an input image by using skin-color model and try to find an ear area based on Haar-like feature. Then, to verity whether it is the ear area or not, we use the template which is excellent object classification compare to recognize the characters in the plate. In this experiment, the proposed method showed that the processing speed is improved by 60% than previous works and the detection success rate is 92%.

  • This paper addresses a method of estimating roughly the human pose by comparing Haar-wavelet value which is learned in face detection technology using AdaBoost algorithm. We also presents its application to face recognition. The learned weak classifier is used to a Haar-wavelet robust to each pose's feature by comparing the coefficients during the process of face detection. The Mahalanobis distance is used to measure the matching degree in Haar-wavelet selection. When a facial image is detected using the selected Haar-wavelet, the pose is estimated. The proposed pose estimation can be used to improve face recognition speed. Experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method for pose estimation.

  • Recently, place that you need to check wearing mask and body temperature to prevent the proliferation of COVID-19 increased. But these things often measured by man manually or by machine one by one, result may be different by measuring ways, so it wastes workforce. Also, the machine generally just measures the highest temperature of the face, criteria for fever can't be trusted too. A bottleneck may occur due to crowding of people at the entrance, and because most of the measurement sites are at one entrance, it is inconvenient to track the movement of COVID-19 Confirmed cases. Thus, in this study, we intend to propose a method for suppressing the spread of infection by automatically classifying and displaying in real time using camera, thermal camera, Haar Cascade, and result selection algorithm.

  • It is shown that for a general Haar shift operator, and a weight in the $A_2$ weight class, we establish the weighted norm estimate which linearly depends on $A_2$-characteristic $[w]_{A_2}$. Although the result is now well known, we introduce the new method, which is called the iterated Bellman function method, to provide the estimate.

  • A hybrid version of the Hadamard and center Line Symmetric Haar Transform called H-CLSH is defined and developed. Efficient algorithms for fast computation of the H-CLSH and its inverse are developed. The H-CLSH is applied to digital signal and image processing and its utility and image processing and its utility and effectiveness are compared with Hadamard-Haar discrete transforms on the basis of some standard performance criteria.

  • A multiresolution time-domain analysis scheme is derived for the analysis of microwave structures by using Haar wavelets to discretize the Maxwell's curl equation. This technique requires less computational effort than the conventional FDTD method because larger space grid can be used in the simulations. To validate this scheme, several 2-D·3-D microwave structures are simulated and the results are compared with those of the conventional FDTD scheme.

  • Numerical methods for solving the state feedback control problem of linear time invariant system are presented in this paper. The methods are based on Haar wavelet approximation. The properties of Haar wavelet are first presented. The operational matrix of integration and its inverse matrix are then utilized to reduce the state feedback control problem to the solution of algebraic matrix equations. The proposed methods reduce the computation time remarkably. Finally a numerical example is illustrated to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed methods.
