The Analysis of Reflect Level according to Reflect Journal in HW Design Learning based on Online Simulation (온라인 시뮬레이션 기반 HW설계 학습에서 성찰일지 내용에 따른 성찰수준 분석)

  • In this study, for the purpose of reflection level analysis of high school students in HW design learning which is based on online simulation, we carried out 5 lessons of HW learning and analyzed there reflection levels for 5 individual time of reflection content. The reflection level analysis results for each time of learning shows that the reflection level of the $3^{rd}$ time learning of D-Flip Flop is the highest score with 1.23. The correlation analysis result between the reflection contents presents that high positive correlation between learning content and task resolving method(r=.781, p<.01), and negative design correlation between task resolving method and alternative resolving method. The HW learning satisfaction survey result shows 4.2, and most of the participant students provided opinions that the HW design learning is required and current learning contents is a bit difficult to follow. We could recognize HW design learning is required to have composition of curriculum with basic and advanced contents, and on-off lines combined.

Design of an Effective Deep Learning-Based Non-Profiling Side-Channel Analysis Model (효과적인 딥러닝 기반 비프로파일링 부채널 분석 모델 설계방안)

  • Recently, a deep learning-based non-profiling side-channel analysis was proposed. The deep learning-based non-profiling analysis is a technique that trains a neural network model for all guessed keys and then finds the correct secret key through the difference in the training metrics. As the performance of non-profiling analysis varies greatly depending on the neural network training model design, a correct model design criterion is required. This paper describes the two types of loss functions and eight labeling methods used in the training model design. It predicts the analysis performance of each labeling method in terms of non-profiling analysis and power consumption model. Considering the characteristics of non-profiling analysis and the HW (Hamming Weight) power consumption model is assumed, we predict that the learning model applying the HW label without One-hot encoding and the Correlation Optimization (CO) loss will have the best analysis performance. And we performed actual analysis on three data sets that are Subbytes operation part of AES-128 1 round. We verified our prediction by non-profiling analyzing two data sets with a total 16 of MLP-based model, which we describe.

Design of Efficient Edge Computing based on Learning Factors Sharing with Cloud in a Smart Factory Domain (스마트 팩토리 환경에서 클라우드와 학습된 요소 공유 방법 기반의 효율적 엣지 컴퓨팅 설계)

  • In recent years, an IoT is dramatically developing according to the enhancement of AI, the increase of connected devices, and the high-performance cloud systems. Huge data produced by many devices and sensors is expanding the scope of services, such as an intelligent diagnostics, a recommendation service, as well as a smart monitoring service. The studies of edge computing are limited as a role of small server system with high quality HW resources. However, there are specialized requirements in a smart factory domain needed edge computing. The edges are needed to pre-process containing tiny filtering, pre-formatting, as well as merging of group contexts and manage the regional rules. So, in this paper, we extract the features and requirements in a scope of efficiency and robustness. Our edge offers to decrease a network resource consumption and update rules and learning models. Moreover, we propose architecture of edge computing based on learning factors sharing with a cloud system in a smart factory.

User Centered Interface Design of Web-based Attention Testing Tools: Inhibition of Return(IOR) and Graphic UI (웹 기반 주의력 검사의 사용자 인터페이스 설계: 회귀억제 과제와 그래픽 UI를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to validate a web-based neuropsychological testing tool developed by Kwak(2007) and to suggest solutions to potential problems that can deteriorate its validity. When it targets a wider range of subjects, a web-based neuropsychological testing tool is challenged by high drop-out rates, lack of motivation, lack of interactivity with the experimenter, fear of computer, etc. As a possible solution to these threats, this study aims to redesign the user interface of a web-based attention testing tool through three phases of study. In Study 1, an extensive analysis of Kwak's(2007) attention testing tool was conducted to identify potential usability problems. The Heuristic Walkthrough(HW) method was used by three usability experts to review various design features. As a result, many problems were found throughout the tool. The findings concluded that the design of instructions, user information survey forms, task screen, results screen, etc. did not conform to the needs of users and their tasks. In Study 2, 11 guidelines for the design of web-based attention testing tools were established based on the findings from Study 1. The guidelines were used to optimize the design and organization of the tool so that it fits to the user and task needs. The resulting new design alternative was then implemented as a working prototype using the JAVA programming language. In Study 3, a comparative study was conducted to demonstrate the excellence of the new design of attention testing tool(named graphic style tool) over the existing design(named text style tool). A total of 60 subjects participated in user testing sessions where their error frequency, error patterns, and subjective satisfaction were measured through performance observation and questionnaires. Through the task performance measurement, a number of user errors in various types were observed in the existing text style tool. The questionnaire results were also in support of the new graphic style tool, users rated the new graphic style tool higher than the existing text style tool in terms of overall satisfaction, screen design, terms and system information, ease of learning, and system performance.
