Effects of Interrupted Wetness Periods on Conidial Germination, Germ Tube Elongation and Infection Periods of Botryosphaeria dothidea Causing Apple White Rot

  • Responses of Botryosphaeria dothidea to interrupted wetness periods were investigated under in vivo and in vitro conditions. Conidia of B. dothidea were allowed to germinate on apple fruits under wetting condition at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 hr. They were air-dried for 0, 1, 2 or 4 hr, and then rewetted at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 hr. Following an initial wetness period of 5 hr, 83% of the conidia germinated. The percent conidial germination increased to 96% when wetting was extended continuously another 5 hr. However, no further conidial germination was observed when wetting was interrupted by dry periods of 1, 2 and 4 hr, resulting in 83, 81 and 82%, respectively. The mean length of the germ tubes was $37{\mu}m$ after 5 hr of wetting and elongated to $157{\mu}m$ after 10 hr of continuous wetting. On the other hand, interruption of wetting by a dry period of 1 hr or longer after the 5 hr of initial wetting arrested the germ tube elongation at approximately $42{\mu}m$ long. Prolonged rewetting up to 40 hr did not restore germ tube elongation on slide glasses under substrate treatments. Model simulation using weather data sets revealed that ending infection periods by a dry period of at least 1 hr decreased the daily infection periods, avoiding the overestimation of infection warning. This information can be incorporated into infection models for scheduling fungicide sprays to control apple white rot with fewer fungicide applications.

  • Keeping good, talented people is one of the most significant factors in a company's success. HR analytics is an important area for applying big data analysis techniques to human resources. It provides organizational insight that enables effective management of employees, allowing management to reach their business goals quickly and efficiently. Job satisfaction and employee turnover analysis are the keys to HR analytics. Job review web services have been becoming popular. Because people exchange information about job satisfaction and turnover through these web services, useful information about HR Analytics is accumulated on the job review web sites. In this paper, we identified factors of employee retention by analyzing a Job Satisfaction/Retention group, and the factors of employee turnover by analyzing a Job Unsatisfaction/Turnover group. In order to do this, we first classified employees according to whether their self-reported job satisfaction or turnover was true. We collected and analyzed data from Jobplanet, a popular job review site. Through dominance analysis and LDA topic modeling, we found major factors, topics, and keywords of the classified groups by IT, service, and manufacturing domains. Our approach is a novel model to apply the analysis of reviews and text mining to the HR domain, and it will be practically helpful for setting new strategies that improve job satisfaction.

Proposal for AI Video Interview Using Image Data Analysis

  • In this paper, the necessity of AI video interview arises when conducting an interview for acquisition of excellent talent in a non-face-to-face situation due to similar situations such as Covid-19. As a matter to be supplemented in general AI interviews, it is difficult to evaluate the reliability and qualitative factors. In addition, the AI interview is conducted not in a two-way Q&A, rather in a one-sided Q&A process. This paper intends to fuse the advantages of existing AI interviews and video interviews. When conducting an interview using AI image analysis technology, it supplements subjective information that evaluates interview management and provides quantitative analysis data and HR expert data. In this paper, image-based multi-modal AI image analysis technology, bioanalysis-based HR analysis technology, and web RTC-based P2P image communication technology are applied. The goal of applying this technology is to propose a method in which biological analysis results (gaze, posture, voice, gesture, landmark) and HR information (opinions or features based on user propensity) can be processed on a single screen to select the right person for the hire.

Expression Profiles of Loneliness-associated Genes for Survival Prediction in Cancer Patients

  • Influence of loneliness on human survival has been established epidemiologically, but genomic research remains undeveloped. We identified 34 loneliness-associated genes which were statistically significant for high-lonely and low-lonely individuals. With the univariate Cox proportional hazards regression model, we obtained corresponding regression coefficients for loneliness-associated genes fo individual cancer patients. Furthermore, risk scores could be generated with the combination of gene expression level multiplied by corresponding regression coefficients of loneliness-associated genes. We verified that high-risk score cancer patients had shorter mean survival time than their low-risk score counterparts. Then we validated the loneliness-associated gene signature in three independent brain cancer cohorts with Kaplan-Meier survival curves (n=77, 85 and 191), significantly separable by log-rank test with hazard ratios (HR) >1 and p-values <0.0001 (HR=2.94, 3.82, and 1.78). Moreover, we validated the loneliness-associated gene signature in bone cancer (HR=5.10, p-value=4.69e-3), lung cancer (HR=2.86, p-value=4.71e-5), ovarian cancer (HR=1.97, p-value=3.11e-5), and leukemia (HR=2.06, p-value=1.79e-4) cohorts. The last lymphoma cohort proved to have an HR=3.50, p-value=1.15e-7. Loneliness-associated genes had good survival prediction for cancer patients, especially bone cancer patients. Our study provided the first indication that expression of loneliness-associated genes are related to survival time of cancer patients.

  • HR-WPAN은 디바이스들과 망을 중재하는 역할을 하는 PNC가 피코넷을 형성함으로써 통신을 하게된다. PNC는 디바이스들 중에서 선발이 되며 PNC가 피코넷을 이탈하거나 더 능력이 우수한 디바이스가 피코넷에 참여할 때 PNC 핸드오버 과정을 통하여 신규 PNC로 역할이 이양된다. WPAN 권고안에서는 현재 피코넷의 운영상태를 고려하지 않고 디바이스들의 능력에만 기초하여 핸드오버를 수행한다. 신규 PNC는 기존의 PNC가 관리하던 디바이스들을 최대한 수용하여야 피코넷에 끼치는 효과를 최소화할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 자식 피코넷을 고려하여 PNC 선택방법을 제안하여 기존의 PNC가 관리하던 디바이스들을 최대한 수용할 수 있게 하였다.

Analysis of Hydrograph by Dam Breach Shapes (댐 파괴형상에 따른 수문곡선 해석)

  • In this study is analysis which dams breach shapes are effect on peak discharge of dam-failure. The dam breach shapes and failure time are important peak discharge when dam failure. When dam failure times are 1hr, 2hr and 3hr condition for the ECRD and 0.1hr and 0.2hr for the CG and CFRD that breach shapes changed base length $B_b=1Hd,\;B_b=2Hd\;and\;B_b=3Hd$. As the results from DAMBRK(Dam Break model) peak discharge are increase base widths lengthen. As failure time is longer then peak discharge is decrease. So peak discharge is increase more short of dam failure time. Also peak discharge is increase become larger dam breach shapes.

Learning-based Super-resolution for Text Images (글자 영상을 위한 학습기반 초고해상도 기법)

  • The proposed algorithm consists of two stages: the learning and synthesis stages. At the learning stage, we first collect various high-resolution (HR)-low-resolution (LR) text image pairs, and quantize the LR images, and extract HR-LR block pairs. Based on quantized LR blocks, the LR-HR block pairs are clustered into a pre-determined number of classes. For each class, an optimal 2D-FIR filter is computed, and it is stored into a dictionary with the corresponding LR block for indexing. At the synthesis stage, each quantized LR block in an input LR image is compared with every LR block in the dictionary, and the FIR filter of the best-matched LR block is selected. Finally, a HR block is synthesized with the chosen filter, and a final HR image is produced. Also, in order to cope with noisy environment, we generate multiple dictionaries according to noise level at the learning stage. So, the dictionary corresponding to the noise level of the input image is chosen, and a final HR image is produced using the selected dictionary. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the previous works for noisy images as well as noise-free images.

The Effect of the Storage Duration and Temperature of EDTA Specimen for CBC and WBC Differential Count in SE-9000 Automated Cell Counter (SE-9000 자동 혈구계산기에서 EDTA 검체의 보관기간 및 온도가 CBC 및 백혈구 감별계산에 미치는 영향)

  • Although various automated CBC analyzers with different WBC analytical principles were consequently introduced to clinical laboratory, the specific information concerning the suitability or unsuitability of aging samples is scarce. For this reason, we studied the effect of storage duration and temperature on CBC parameter in SE-9000 (SYSMEX Medical Electronics Co., Ltd., Kobe, Japan), automated CBC analyzer. We tested 32 K3-EDTA specimens with SE-9000 during 72 hours. Specimens were kept at room temperature (RT) and refrigerated and were analyzed at 0 hr, 4 hr, 8 hr, 24 hr, 48 hr and 72 hr after the collection of the specimens. The percentage changes from initial value for each parameters were calculated. Among the CBC parameters, hemoglobin, red blood cell count, mean corpuscular hemoglobin and platelets were stable for the study period at both temperatures. The mean corpuscular volume (MCV), hematocrit (Hct) and red cell distribution (RDW) increased and the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) decreased over time at room temperature. These parameters were stable when refrigerated. The leukocyte count was stable during 72hr at RT and when refrigerated. At room temperature, the relative percentages of neutrophils tend to increase, whereas those of lymphocyte and monocytes tend to decrease after 48 hours. When refrigerated, those of neutrophils and monocytes tend to increase, whereas those of lymphocytes tend to decreased over time. CBC parameters of refrigerated specimen were reliable for 72 hr for the exception of differential count from 24 hr but many CBC parameters, such as MCV, Hct, MCHC, RDW and differential count of leukocyte of blood stored at room temperature for 24 hr were unreliable.

  • 기존 e-HR 시스템의 현황을 파악하여 $HRM^1$$HRD^2$의 구조적 분리에 따른 문제점을 파악하고 그에 따른 바람직한 e-HR시스템의 구조를 제시한다. 또, 커뮤니티$(CoP^3)$ 모델을 적용하여 시스템의 데이터를 일방적인 관리자 제공 방식에서 탈피하며 보다 신빙성 있는 자료를 제공할 수 있도록 한다. 궁극적으로 개인적인 필요를 충족시켜 주는 e-HRD 시스템을 구축 할 수 있는지 부분적인 모듈을 개발 해본다.
