ISCST3을 이용한 돈사의 복합악취 영향 분석 (Impact Analysis of Complex Odor from Pigsty by Using ISCST3)

  • 돈사에서 발생하는 악취로 인한 주변지역 영향을 EPA가 권장하는 ISCST3 모델을 적용하여 악취모델링을 실시하여 복합악취 기준과 비교하고 악취 저감대책을 수립하는데 기초자료로 활용하고자 하였다. 돈사 악취의 영향을 분석하기 위하여 자돈과 성돈에 따라서 평균치와 최소, 최대치로 분류하여 악취 농도를 예측하였다. 양돈장의 혼합 악취의 예측 결과에서 인접 건물들은 허용한계를 초과하나 양돈장으로부터 185m 떨어진 거리에 있는 피해지역에서는 허용한계를 만족하였다. 허용한계에 대한 악취 배출량을 확인하기 위해 관리동에서 누출량을 측정하였으며 누출량 50%, 30%, 10% 기준으로 악취 농도를 예측한 결과는 관리동에서 1hr 기준 최대 발생량이 10.59~52.93, 19.05~31.76, 10.59 $OU/m^3/s/m^2$로 수인한도 10.00 $OU/m^3/s/m^2$를 다소 초과하는 것으로 예측되었으나, 누출량을 10% 미만으로 관리시 수인한도를 만족할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Stress에 의한 대두의 Isoflavonoid 화합물 축적변화 (Changes in the Accumulation of Isoflavonoids in Soybeans by Stress)

  • Soybean mosaic virus에 감수성 품종인 단경콩과 저항성 품종인 팔달콩의 cotyledon에 여러형태로 자극을 처리하였을때 유도되는 isoflavone aglycones(daidzein, genistein)와 이들 배당체들(daidzin, genistin)의 시간별 축적 정도를 조사하였다. UDP-glucose, $MgSO_4$, $HgCl_2$의 처리 및 Botrytis cinerea의 감염에 의하여 두 품종 모두 isoflavone aglycones와 이들 배당체들의 함량이 대조구(water 처리)와 비교하여 증가하였다. 그러나 citrate의 처리에 의해서는 isoflavone aglycones의 함량은 대조구와 큰 차이가 없었으나 isoflavone glucosides의 함량은 크게 증가하였다. UDP-glucose, $MgSO_4$$HgCl_2$의 처리에 의하여 isoflavone aglycones의 함량은 단경콩보다 팔달콩에서 크게 나타났다. 특히 daidzein의 경우, 단경콩보다 팔달콩에서 현저하게 크게 나타났다. 그러나 Botrytis cinerea의 감염에 의해서 daidzein의 최대 축적 양에는 두 품종 사이에 큰 차이가 없으나 최대 축적 시간은 팔달콩이 단경콩보다 빠르게 나타났다. 그리고 그 배당체인 daidzin과 geinstein의 축적은 단경콩보다 팔달콩에서 모든 자극처리에의해 높게 나타났다. UDP-glucose, $MgSO_4$, 및 $HgCl_2$의 처리에 의한 daidzein과 geinstein이 축적되는 양은 단경콩에서는 초기에는(24hr까지)에는 비슷하나, 48hr이후에는 daidzein의 축적이 geinstein의 함량보다 크게 나타났다. 그러나 팔달콩에서는 대체로 전 기간에서 daidzein의 함량이 geinstein의 함량보다 크게 나타났다. 병원균의 감염에 의해서는 두 품종에서 모두 daidzein의 양이 geinstein의 양보다 크게 나타났다.

벤진의 유해 위험성과 작업환경 노출기준 연구 (A Study on the Hazardousness and the TLV in Working Environments of Benzine)

  • Of many volatile organic detergents for metals, benzine(CAS No. 8030-30-6), of which the toxicity has not yet been proven, has been used as an alternative of the halide compounds in the consideration of toxic effects, global warming and the destruction of ozone layer. In order to evaluate the effects of the benzine on human body by investigating the subchronic inhalation toxicity, to obtain the basic data for establishing the criteria of exposure in working environments and to classify the hazardousness in compliance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act by evaluating the hazardousness, repeated inhalation exposure test was carried with SD rats. The rats were grouped by 10 females and males each. The repetitive inhalation exposures were carried out at 4 levels of concentration of 0 ppm, 60 ppm, 300 ppm, and 1,500 ppm, for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 13 weeks. The results are described hereunder. 1. No death of the animals of the exposed and controlled groups in the test period. Not any specific clinical symptoms, change in feed intake quantity, abnormality in eye test, or change in activity were observed. 2. In the 300 ppm and 1,500 ppm groups, weight reduction in the female groups and weight increase of liver and kidney in the male groups compared with control group were observed with statistical significance(p<0.05). 3. In the blood test, the HCT increased in the male 300 ppm group and the number of hematocyte increased, MCV and MCH decreased in the male 1,500 ppm group. In the female 1,500 ppm group, the HB decreased and the distribution width of the hematocyte particle size increased. In the blood biochemistry test, the TP in the male 1,500 ppm group and the LDH in the female 1,500 ppm group were increased with statistical significance(p<0.05). 4. Under the test conditions of the present study with SD rats, the NOEL was evaluated to be from 60 ppm to 300 ppm for both male and female groups. By extrapolation, the NOEL for human who work 8 hours a day was evaluated to be from 128 ppm to 640 ppm 5. Since the NOEL evaluated in this study do not exceed 60ppm(0.184 mg/L) the test material does not belong to the classification of the hazardous substance "NOEL${\leq}$0.5mg/L/6hr/90day(rat), for continuous inhalation of 6hours a day for 90 days" nor to the basic hazardous chemical substance class 1(0.2 mg/L/6hr/90day(rat) defined by the GHS which is a criteria of classification and identification of chemical compounds. However, considering the boiling point($30-204^{\circ}C$), flashing point($-40^{\circ}C$), vapor pressure(40 mmHg), and the inflammable range(1.0 - 6.0 %), sufficient care should be taken for handling in the safety aspects including fire or explosion.

EFFECTS OF RED GINSENG ON PLATELET FUNCTION AND LIPID METABOLISM OR OVERWEIGHTED NONINSULIN-DEPENDENT

  • Backgrounds Diabetes mellitus is associated with accelerated atherosc lerosis and predispose to specific microvascular problems. This study was performed to evaluate the usefulness of red ginseng as adjunctive therapeutic agent of NIDDM especially in preventing chronic diabetic complications. Materials and Methods We treated 50 patients with NIDDM for 5 month with 2 regimens: 1)oralhypoglycemic drug therapy only(the control group), 2)oral hypoglycemic group). The patients were recruited at Korea university hospital from June, 1992 to October, 1992 and the following inclusion criteria were used: l)age above 35 years 2)initial body weight within or above ideal body weight 3)fasting blood glucose level greater than 140mg/dl 4)no previous history of diabetes mellitus or no history of blood glucose control for recent 3 months of more. The patients were seen every 2 weeks for remaining 3 months. At every visit FBS and PP2hr blood glucose were measured with blood pressure and body weight. Lipid profiles were checked every 4 weeks and platelet function test was perfomed with aggregometer after administration of ADP, epineprine and collagen every 4 weeks. Free fatty acid were also analyzed every 8 weeks and glycosylated hemoglobin was measured every 12 weeks. Results The results were as follows: 1. The mean values for fasting and PP2hr blood glucose decreased significantly in the control group than in the ginseng group. 2. The weight gain was less in the ginseng group than in the control group. The levels of systolic blood pressure decreased' significantly in the ginseng group than in the control group. 3. There was no significant differences of lipid profiles in both groups. 4. The platelet hyperaggregation was improved more significantly in the ginseng group than in the control group. Conclusions In patients with NIDDM who were recieving oral hypoglycemic drug therapy, the addition of red ginseng improved platelet function and blood pressure, but induced less weight gain. The data suggests that red ginseng may be useful as a therapeutic adjunct especially in preventing chronic complications of NIDDM.

Risk Analysis of the Long-Term Outcomes of the Surgical Closure of Secundum Atrial Septal Defects

  • Background: Closure of a secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) is possible through surgical intervention or device placement. During surgical intervention, concomitant pathologies are corrected. The present study was conducted to investigate the outcomes of surgical ASD closure, to determine the risk factors of mortality, and establish the effects of concomitant disease correction. Methods: Between October 1989 and October 2009, 693 adults underwent surgery for secundum ASD. Their mean age was $40.9{\pm}13.1years$, and 199 (28.7%) were male. Preoperatively, atrial fibrillation was noted in 39 patients (5.6%) and significant tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in 137 patients (19.8%). The mean follow-up duration was $12.4{\pm}4.7years$. Results: There was no 30-day mortality. The 1-, 5-, 10-, and 20-year survival rates were 99.4%, 96.8%, 94.5%, and 81.6%, respectively. In multivariate analysis, significant preoperative TR (hazard ratio [HR], 1.95; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.09 to 3.16; p=0.023) and preoperative age (HR, 1.04; 95% CI, 1.01 to 1.06; p=0.001) were independent risk factors for late mortality. The TR grade significantly decreased after ASD closure with tricuspid repair. However, in patients with more than mild TR, repair was not associated with improved long-term survival (p=0.518). Conclusion: Surgical ASD closure is safe. Significant preoperative TR and age showed a strong negative correlation with survival. Our data showed that tricuspid valve repair improved the TR grade effectively. However, no effect on long-term survival was found. Therefore, early surgery before the development of significant TR mat be beneficial for improving postoperative survival.

카르바마제핀 서방형 제제간의 생물학적 동등성 비교 (The Bioequivalence of Two Carbamazepine Controlled Release Formulations)

  • Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant drug that has been shown to be as effective as phenytoin or phenobarbital in treatment of grand mal and complex partial seizures and is also approved as the drug of choice for treatment of the pain associated with trigerminal neuralgia. And the therapeutic or toxic effects of carbamazepine are better related to plasma concentration than to dosage, which can be attributed to interindividual variability in the pharmacokinetics. A slow rate of carbamazepine dissolution in the gastrointestinal tract is believed to be the cause of its relatively slow and erratic rate of absorption. For these reasons pharmacokinetic evaluation of newly formulated carbamazepine is neccessary. In this study, the bioequivalence in carbamazepine between the $TegretoI^{TM}$ CR tablet (Geigy Co.) and $Carmazepine^{TM}$ CR tablet (Myung In Co.) was evaluated. 12 normal volunteers (age $21\~27$ years old) was divided into two groups, and a randomized cross-over study was employed. The pharmacokinetic parameters ($C_{max},\;T_{max}$ and AUC) obtained of oral administration of each formulatim of carbamazepine 400 mg were evaluated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters. $C_{max}\;is\;8.26{\pm}3.1{\mu}g/ml\;(C.V.\;37.3\%)\;in\;TegretoI^{TM}\;and\;9.39\{pm}2.9{\mu}g/ml\;(C.V.\;30.5\%)$ in $Carmazepine^{TM},\;T_{max}\;is\;28.0{\pm}5.9\;hrs(C.V.\;21.1\%)$ in $Tegretol^{TM}\;and\;24.0{\pm}7.2\;hrs(C.V.\;30.2\%)$ in $Carmazepine^{TM}$ and AUC is $786.4{\pm}360.5{\mu}g{\cdot}hr/ml\;(C.V.\;45.8\%)$ in $TegretoI^{TM}\;and\;792.8{\pm}228.6{\mu}g{\cdot}hr/ml\;(C.V.\;28.8\%)$ in $Carmazepine^{TM}$, respectively. As the result of the data, two formulations are bioequvalent, and the lower C.V. of $Carmazepine^{TM}$ in every individual can be merit.

시험시공을 통한 암석의 강도특성과 RBM의 순관입률과의 관계 (The Relationship between Rock Strength Characteristics and Net Penetration Rate of RBM by Pilot Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 RBM공법을 이용하여 역암지반 내 연장 98m, 직경 3.05m의 수직구를 시험시공 하였다. 시험시공 결과를 토대로 설계 단계에서의 예상 관입률을 산정하기 위하여, 시추조사 및 실내실험 결과들과 RBM 가동인자들과의 상관성을 비교ㆍ검토하였다. 연구결과, 평균 순관입률은 2.233mm/rev으로 분석되어 국내외 TBM 시공실적의 평균 관입률에 비해 낮게 나타났고, 평균 굴진율도 TBM의 경우에 비해 다소 적은 0.382m/hr로 분석되었다. RBM 가동 설계인자와 순관입률과의 관계에서는 암석의 강도특성(일축압축강도, 인장강도, 반발경도 등)들이 증가할수록 순관입률이 증가하는 것으로 분석되었고, TBM에 관한 기존의 연구결과와 반대의 경향을 보이고 있다. 합경도와 순관입률과의 관계는 Pe=0.0039$\times$H$_T$ + 2.07로서 합경도가 증가할수록 순관입률이 증가하고 있다. 이상과 같은 경향은 일반적으로 경암반에 시공되는 TBM의 연구결과와 반대의 경향을 보이고 있는데, Barton이 제시한 Q$_TBM$에 의한 예상 관입률의 경향에서도 볼 수 있듯이 본 연구의 연암 및 풍화암 지반에 대해서는 정상적인 결과인 것으로 판단된다.

Association between Lymphovascular Invasion and Recurrence in Patients with pT1N+ or pT2-3N0 Gastric Cancer: a Multi-institutional Dataset Analysis

  • Purpose: Patients with pathological stage T1N+ or T2-3N0 gastric cancer may experience disease recurrence following curative gastrectomy. However, the current Japanese Gastric Cancer Treatment Guidelines do not recommend postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for such patients. This study aimed to identify the prognostic factors for patients with pT1N+ or pT2-3N0 gastric cancer using a multi-institutional dataset. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data obtained from 401 patients with pT1N+ or pT2-3N0 gastric cancer who underwent curative gastrectomy at 9 institutions between 2010 and 2014. Results: Of the 401 patients assessed, 24 (6.0%) experienced postoperative disease recurrence. Multivariate analysis revealed that age ≥70 years (hazard ratio [HR], 2.62; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.09-7.23; P=0.030) and lymphatic and/or venous invasion (lymphovascular invasion (LVI): HR, 7.88; 95% CI, 1.66-140.9; P=0.005) were independent prognostic factors for poor recurrence-free survival. There was no significant association between LVI and the site of initial recurrence. Conclusions: LVI is an indicator of poor prognosis in patients with pT1N+ or pT2-3N0 gastric cancer.

A New Inflammatory Prognostic Index, Based on C-reactive Protein, the Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio and Serum Albumin is Useful for Predicting Prognosis in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cases

  • Purpose: We aimed to establish an inflammatory prognostic index (IPI) in early and advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients based on hematologic and biochemical parameters and to analyze its predictive value for NSCLC survival. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of 685 patients with early and advanced NSCLC diagnosed between 2009 and 2014 was conducted with collection of clinical, and laboratory data. The IPI was calculated as C-reactive protein ${\times}$ NLR (neutrophil/ lymphocyte ratio)/serum albumin. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to assess the prognostic value of relevant factors. Results: The optimal cut-off value of IPI for overall survival (OS) stratification was determined to be 15. Totals of 334 (48.8%) and 351 (51.2%) patients were assigned to high and low IPI groups, respectively. Compared with low IPI, high IPI was associated with older age, greater tumor size, high lymph node involvement, distant metastases, advanced stage and poor performance status. Median OS was worse in the high IPI group (low vs high, 8.0 vs 34.0 months; HR, 3.5; p<0.001). Progression free survival values of the patients who had high vs low IPI were determined 6 months (95% CI:5.3-6.6) and 14 months (95% CI:12.1-15.8), respectively (HR; 2.4, P<0.001). On multivariate analysis, stage, performance status, lactate dehydrogenase and IPI were independent prognostic factors for OS. Subgroup analysis showed IPI was generally a significant prognostic factor in all clinical variables. Conclusion: The described IPI may be an inexpensive, easily accessible and independent prognostic index for NSCLC patients, useful for clinical practice.

코발트-60 선원 대체용 고선량률 Ir-192 선원의 조직선량특성 (Characteristics of Tissue Dose of High Dose Rate Ir-192 Source Substitution for Co-60 Brachytherapy Source)

  • 코발트-60 근접조사선원을 대체할 Ir-l92 선원주변의 2차원적 선량분포를 얻기 위하여, 조사선량률과, 조직감쇠계수를 구하였다. 조직감쇠계수는 선원에서 20 cm 지점까지 실험식을 구하였다. ?보기 방사능은 조사선량상수를 사용하여 결정하였으며, 2.5mm 직경에 두께 2.5 mm 의 선원은 조직선량을 정하기 위해 선원을 4401 개로 분할하여 선원 자체의 흡수효과와 ?슐벽의 차폐 효과와 조직감쇠계수를 적용하였다. 조직감쇠계수는 4차식을 사용하여 1% 오차범위내에서 실험값을 얻을 수 있었으며, Meisberger 상수는 선원에서 많이 떨어질수록 오차가 커서, 10 cm 위치서 7%, 20 cm 에서 33%의 오차를 발견할 수 있었으나, 겉보기방사능과 선원모양 및 크기가 달라 다른 결과를 가져올 수 있다고 본다. 발표된 Ir-192 선원의 에너지스펙트럼을 이용한 선량률상수는 절삭에너지 10 keV인 경우 4.69 R$cm^2$/mCi-hr을 얻었으며 Air Kerma는 0.973 을 구하였다. 이 실험에서 고안 선원의 분할선원에 의한 선원자체흡수와 ?슐벽에 의한 감쇠는 실선원의 54.6%가 겉보기방사능으로 나타남을 알 수 있었으며, 선량계획에 이용하기 위해 단위 ?보기 방사능에 대한 2차원적 선량표를 준비함으로써 기하학적선량과 선량 비등방성을 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 하였다.
