High risk-human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) is known to be a major cause of cervical cancer, and coinfection of sexually transmitted pathogen (STP) has been reported to cause persistent HPV infection. However, the relationship between HPV and STP coinfection remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to analyze the coinfection rate with STP in high-risk human papillomavirus infected women in Busan and to collect basic data for the prevention of cervical lesions. This study was carried out in 355 women who had concurrent HPV and STP screening at Busan local hospital between January 2016 and December 2017. HPV and STP coinfection was found in 187 (52.7%) out of 355 cases. HR-HPV and STP coinfection was 82.9% higher than LR-HPV and STP coinfections 17.1%. In HR-HPV infection, Ureaplasma species was the most common pathogen (47.1%), followed by C. trachomatis (21.9%) and Mycoplasma species (12.3%). In the analysis of HR-HPV genotype according to STP, HPV 16 (12.0%) was the most frequent, followed by HPV 58 (11.6%), HPV 39 (11.1%) and HPV 52 (10.2%), but HPV 18 showed a low coinfection rate of 1.3%. According to the results of age, HR-HPV and STP coinfection rate was the highest at 41.9% among women aged 18 to 29. HR-HPV and Ureaplasma species showed the highest coinfection rates at all ages, followed by C. trachomatis and Mycoplasma species. Further studies with more samples will be needed to determine if the coinfection of HR-HPV and STPs is involved in the development of cervical tumors through histologic changes.
Background and Purpose: Previous studies have suggested a decreased cancer risk among patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). There remains a lack of data on the specific types of cancer and risk factors for developing cancer in AD. We evaluated the association between AD and cancer risk, and we examined specific types of cancer. Methods: A population-based longitudinal study was conducted using the National Health Insurance Service-Senior cohort for 2002-2013. A total of 4,408 AD patients were included in the study, as were 19,150 matched controls. Potential associations between the risk of cancer and AD were analyzed using Cox proportional hazard regressions. Results: Cancer developed in 12.3% of the AD group patients and in 18.5% of control group subjects. AD was associated with a reduced risk of cancer (hazard ratio [HR], 0.70; 95% confidence intervals, 0.64-0.78). The risk of head and neck cancers was significantly reduced (HR, 0.49), as were risks for cancers of the digestive tract, including stomach cancer (HR, 0.42), colorectal cancer (HR, 0.61), liver and biliary tract cancers (HR, 0.68), and pancreatic cancer (HR, 0.55). Lung and prostate cancer risks were also significantly lower for the AD group (HR, 0.52 and HR, 0.72, respectively). Conclusions: Our results showed an inverse association between AD and cancer. Further research involving a large number of patients in a hospital based-study is needed to address the biological associations between cancer development and dementia, including AD.
In the era of disruptive change, a data-driven approach is vital to Human Resource Management (HRM) of any leading organization, for it is used to gain a competitive advantage. HR analytics (HRA) has emerged as innovative technologies since advanced analytics, i.e., predictive or prescriptive analytics, were widely used in the High Performing Organizations (HPOs). Therefore, many organizations elevate themselves to become HPOs through Data Science on the "people side." This paper proposes a systematic literature review using the Literature Weighted Scoring (LWS) to develop a conceptual framework based on three adoption theories, which are the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE), Diffusion of Innovation (DOI), and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The results show that a total of 13 theory-derived factors are determined as influential factors affecting HRA adoption, and the top three factors are "Quantitative Self-Efficacy," "Top Management Support," and "Data Availability." The conceptual framework with hypotheses is proposed to provide a foundation for further studies on organizational HRA adoption.
To detect thunderstorms occurring in Korea, National Meteorological Satellite Center (NMSC) also introduced the rapid-development thunderstorm (RDT) algorithm developed by EUMETSAT. At NMCS, the H-RDT (HR) based on the Himawari-8 satellite and the K-RDT (KR) which combines the GK2A convection initiation output with the RDT were developed. In this study, we optimized the KR (KU) to improve the detection level of thunderstorms occurring in Korea. For this, we used all available data, such as GK2A/AMI, RADAR, lightning, and numerical model data from the recent two years (2019-2020). The machine learning of logistic regression and stepwise variable selection was used to optimize the KU algorithms. For considering the developing stages and duration time of thunderstorms, and data availability of GK2A/AMI, a total of 72 types of detection algorithms were developed. The level of detection of the KR, HR, and KU was evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively using lightning and RADAR data. Visual inspection using the lightning and RADAR data showed that all three algorithms detect thunderstorms that occurred in Korea well. However, the level of detection differs according to the lightning frequency and day/night, and the higher the frequency of lightning, the higher the detection level is. And the level of detection is generally higher at night than day. The quantitative verification of KU using lightning (RADAR) data showed that POD and FAR are 0.70 (0.34) and 0.57 (0.04), respectively. The verification results showed that the detection level of KU is slightly better than that of KR and HR.

Background: A diabetic foot is the most common cause of non-traumatic lower extremity amputations (LEA). The study seeks to assess the risk factors of amputation in patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). Methods: The study was conducted on 351 patients with DFUs from January 2010 to December 2018. Their demographic characteristics, disease history, laboratory data, ankle-brachial index, Wagner classification, osteomyelitis, sarcopenia index, and ulcer sizes were considered as variables to predict outcome. A chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to test the relationship of the data gathered. Additionally, the subjects were divided into two groups based on their amputation surgery. Results: Out of the 351 subjects, 170 required LEA. The mean age of the subjects was 61 years and the mean duration of diabetes was 15 years; there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of these averages. Osteomyelitis (hazard ratio [HR], 6.164; 95% confidence interval [CI], 3.561-10.671), lesion on percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (HR, 2.494; 95% CI, 1.087-5.721), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR; HR, 0.99; 95% CI, 0.981-0.999), ulcer size (HR, 1.247; 95% CI, 1.107-1.405), and forefoot ulcer location (HR, 2.475; 95% CI, 0.224-0.73) were associated with risk of amputation. Conclusion: Osteomyelitis, peripheral artery disease, chronic kidney disease, ulcer size, and forefoot ulcer location were risk factors for amputation in diabetic foot patients. Further investigation would contribute to the establishment of a diabetic foot risk stratification system for Koreans, allowing for optimal individualized treatment.
Purpose: This study investigated the preemptive analgesic effects of Morphine and Ketorolac on postoperative pain, cortisol, $O_2$ saturation and heart rate for the first 24 hr after abdominal surgery. Methods: Data collection was performed from April 1 to September 30, 2006. Forty patients undergoing a gastrectomy under general anesthesia were randomly allocated to the experimental or control group. The experimental group (20 patients) was administered Morphine and Ketorolac approximately 1 hr prior to skin incision, but the control group (20 patients) was administered Morphine and Ketorolac at peritoneum closure through a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pump. Postoperative pain, blood pressure, heart rate, cortisol, $O_2$ saturation, frequency of the PCA button pressed and doses of additional analgesics were observed through post operative 24 hr. Collected data was analyzed using t-test, $X^2$ test, repeated measures ANOVA, and Bonferroni methods. Results: Postoperative pain, cortisol, the frequency of PCA button pressed, and dose of additional analgesics of the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group. There were no statistical differences in blood pressure, heart rate and $O_2$ saturation between the experimental group and control group. Conclusions: We concluded that administration of morphine and ketorolac at 1 hr prior to skin incision resulted in decreasing postoperative pain, but it didn't affect blood pressure, heart rate or $O_2$ saturation for 24 hr after abdominal surgery.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to find effects of early oral water intake on thirsty feeling, nausea, and vomiting after ambulatory surgery. Method : Sixty patients who received PET(Pressure Equalizing Tube) insertion surgery under general anesthesia were conveniently sampled and divided into two groups. Experimental group was instructed to drink water after two hours and control group was directed to intake water after three hours postoperatively. Data were collected from May 1, 2002 to August 31, 2002 at ambulatory surgery center of Asan Medical Center. The thirsty feeling, nausea and vomiting score between experimental and control group were compared at the time of recovery, recovering consciousness, 2hr, 3hr, right before discharge and/or 24hr(telephone interview) postoperatively. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 8.0 statistic program. Result : Result of this study are as follows. 1) There was a statistically significant difference(t=-10.31, p=0.00) in the occurrence of thirsty feeling at the 3hr postoperatively between experimental and control groups. 2) There was a statistically significant difference($x^2=6.66$, p=0.02) in the incidence of nausea during the 2hr postoperatively between experimental and control groups. 3) There was no difference($x^2=0.35$, p=0.55) between groups in vomiting scores. Conclusion : It was generally known that the delay of oral water intake decreases post operative complications. But, this study shows that early oral water intake decreases discomfort of thirsty and there was no adverse effects on the occurrence of postoperative nausea and vomiting.
In order to provide basic references for the design of heating on simple silkworm rearing house, the actual change of heating load coefficient by progress of adult silkworm rearing day from the reared in silkworm rearing house, the heating load coefficient by types of silkworm rearing houses and the heating requirement and the maximum heating load by types of silkworm rearing houses were determined. The results obtained from the study were as follows : 1. The average heating load coefficients of NS, OS and CC type simple silkworm rearing houses were $24.1KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, $19.8KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, and $10.8KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, respectively. 2. The change of heating load coefficient by progress of silkworm rearing day after reared into simple silkworm rearing house could be expressed as Fig. 4. 3. Heating degree-hour for adult silkworm rearing in Suweon district was calculated as $951.6^{\circ}C-hr$ for spring season and $610.5^{\circ}C-hr$ for autumn season. 4. Yearly heating requirement of the NS type was estimated twice more than that of the CC type. Thus, some kinds of reinforced thermal adiabatic facilities is desirable for NS type. 5. The time for maximum heating load was turned out at the 4th instar during the spring season and after the mounting during the autumn season. 6. This study was performed in Suweon district. However, the estimated and analyzed data could be adapted to the major silkworm rearing district if their meteorology data were adjusted.
Purpose - In a difficult time for a firm, it seems impossible to change circumstances by a firm. Nevertheless, the firm must do whatever it can do by however it can do. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of HRM practice on organizational effectiveness with the status quo of the firm as a moderator. Based on the result of this study, the managerial implication could be suggested as a contextual response to each status quo of the firm in improving and managing organizational effectiveness by HRM practice. Research design, data, and methodology - This study measured organizational effectiveness with employee satisfaction and organizational commitment. HRM practice includes two HR management areas, HR system, and HR attitude. HR system includes education & training and additional wage welfare. HR attitude includes employee stress and empowerment. As for the status quo of the firm, this study considered three construct; firm feature, strategic feature, environment change feature. This study analyzed 397 employees of 24 company data from the 7th HCCP of KRIVET. Result - Hypothesis 1 through Hypothesis 3 were partially supported. The results of this study suggest that to increase organizational effectiveness(job satisfaction and organizational commitment), employee stress and education & training participation need to be managed. And circumstance of an organization as given the Status Quo of the firm needs to be managed differently like firm size, environment change in demand, and technology. Conclusion - This study suggests best-practice implications based on the result between HRM practice and organizational effectiveness. And also suggest differentiation in management to increase the best-fit in management.
Objectives: Previous studies have shown that participation in social activities (SA) can prevent cognitive decline (CD) and that living arrangements (LA) can affect cognitive function. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of SA and LA on CD, as well as their interactions, using longitudinal data. Methods: Data were used from the 2006-2018 Korean Longitudinal Study for Aging, which followed 10 254 adults older than 45 years over a 12-year period. CD was defined as a ≥4-point score decrease in the Mini-Mental Status Exam over 2 years. We developed an extended Cox proportional hazards model for time-dependent covariates to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) of CD in 4 groups: (1) socially active and living with others, (2) socially active and living alone, (3) socially inactive and living with others (SILO), and (4) socially inactive and living alone (SILA). The model was stratified by gender and adjusted for important confounders. Results: The HR of CD was significantly higher in the SILO group in men (HR,1.36; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.08 to 1.78) and in the SILA group in women (HR, 1.72; 95% CI, 1.08 to 2.75). However, the interaction term for gender was not significant. Conclusions: Among socially inactive elderly adults, the HR of CD was elevated in men who lived with others and in women who lived alone, although the interaction term for gender was not significant. Socially inactive men who live with others and socially inactive women who live alone are particularly encouraged to participate in SA to prevent CD.
