Until recently, only perfluorinated ionomer membrane such as Nation and Aciflex practically could be successfully used in water splitting. However, these membrane are limited by high cost and loss of membrane performance such as proton conductivity at elevated temperature above 80$^{\circ}C$. The sulfonated aromatic polymers such as PEEK and PSf, polyimides, and polybenzimidazoles are expected to have lower production cost as well as satisfactory chemical and electrochemical properties. HPAs and sulfonated polymers could have a significant influence on water electrolysis performance at elevated temperatures above 80$^{\circ}C$, but these phenomena have received relatively little attention until now. Therefore, it would be desirable to investigate the interrelation between the HPA and sulfonated polymer, such as SPEEK. The SPEEK membrane were prepared by the sulfonation of PEEK, and HPA was blended with SPEEK to increase the mechanical strength and electrochemical characteristics. As a results, electrochemical characteristics such as proton conductivity and ion exchange capacity were improved with the addion of 0.5 g HPA. And the properties of polymer electrolyte, SPEEK/HPA were better than Nation membrane at elevated temperature above 80$^{\circ}C$.
$HpaG_{Xooc}$, from rice pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola, is a member of the harpin group of proteins, eliciting hypersensitive cell death in non-host plants, inducing disease and insect resistance in plants, and enhancing plant growth. To express and secret the $HpaG_{Xooc}$ protein in Bacillus subtilis, we constructed a recombinant expression vector pM43HF with stronger promoter P43 and signal peptide element nprB. The SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis demonstrated the expression of the protein $HpaG_{Xooc}$ in B. subtilis. The ELISA analysis determined the optimum condition for $HpaG_{Xooc}$ expression in B. subtilis WBHF. The biological function analysis indicated that the protein $HpaG_{Xooc}$ from B. subtilis WBHF elicits hypersensitive response(HR) and enhances the growth of tobacco. The results of RT-PCR analysis revealed that $HpaG_{Xooc}$ induces expression of the pathogenesis-related genes PR-1a and PR-1b in plant defense response.
Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae causing bacterial leaf blight disease in rice produces and secretes Hpa1 protein that belongs to harpin protein family. Previously it was reported that Hpa1 induced defense responses when it was produced in tobacco. In this study, we expressed hpa1 gene in rice and Arabidopsis to examine the effects of Hpa1 expression on disease resistance to both fungal and bacterial pathogens. Expression of hpa1 gene in rice enhanced disease resistance to both X. oryzae pv. oryzae and Magnaporthe grisea. Interestingly, individual transgenic rice plants could be divided into four groups, depending on responses to both pathogens. hpa1 expression in Arabidopsis also enhanced disease resistance to both Botrytis cineria and Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris. To examine genes that are up-regulated in the transgenic rice plants after inoculation with X. oryzae pv. oryzae, known defense-related genes were assessed, and also microarray analysis with the Rice 5 K DNA chip was performed. Interestingly, expression of OsACS1 gene, which was found as the gene that showed the highest induction, was induced earlier and stronger than that in the wild type plant. These results indicate that hpa1 expression in the diverse plant species, including monocot and dicot, can enhance disease resistance to both fungal and bacterial plant pathogens.

An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is a special case of multicarrier transmission, where a single data stream is transmitted over a number of lower-rate subcarriers. One of the main reasons to use OFDM is to increase robustness against frequency-selective fading or narrowband interference. However, in the radio systems the distortion introduced by high power amplifiers (HPA's) such as traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) considered in this paper, is also critical. Since the signal amplitude of the OFDM system is Rayleigh-distributed, the performance of the OFDM system is significantly degraded by the nonlinearity of the HPA in the OFDM transmitter. In this paper, we propose a simplicial canonical piecewise-linear (SCPWL) model based digital predistorter to compensate for nonlinear distortion introduced by an HPA in an OFDM system. Computer simulation is carried on an OFDM system under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels with 16-QAM and 64-QAM modulation schemes and modulator/demodulator implemented with 1024-point FFT/IFFT. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed predistorter achieves significant performance improvement by effectively compensating for the nonlinearity introduced by the HPA.
Esterification of methacrylic acid with ethylene glycol was carried out over Heteropolyacids [HPA: $H_4SiW_{12}O_{40}$ (STA) and $H_3PW_{12}O_{40}$ (PTA)] supported on ZSM-5. For comparison, the same reaction was carried out over unsupported HPA, $H_2SO_4$, $BF_3$ and PTSA. Among the catalysts studied, HPA showed better activity compared to $H_2SO_4$, $BF_3$ and PTSA. Catalytic activity was compared with HPA supported ZSM-5 catalysts. Typical results indicated that 30 wt% PTA supported on ZSM-5 showed nearly the same activity as that of bulk PTA. It was found that the reaction follows first order kinetics with respect to methacrylic acid. The reaction products were identified by $^1H$-NMR and FT-IR.

In this paper, we propose and design a SSD(Simultaneous Single band Duplex) system using 5G(Generation) candidate modulations. Especially, we consider HPA(High Power Amplifier) nonlinearity in the proposed system. And then, we evaluate and analyze performance of the proposed system. As simulation results, performance of SSD-OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), SSD-FMC (Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier), and SSD-FBMC(Filter Bank Multi-Carrier) is severely degraded by HPA nonlinearity. However, performance of SSD-OFDM, SSD-UFMC, and SSD-FBMC is similar in the same condition. That is, OFDM, UFMC, and FBMC have a similar PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) characteristic. Finally, we can confirm that the proposed SSD system can not cancel(SI) self-interference effectively by strong HPA nonlinearity. That is, Reducing PAPR is important in order to avoid effect of HPA nonlinearity in the proposed SSD system.

HPA is one of the most essential device in wireless communication systems. However, because of nonlinear characteristic of HPA transmit signal is distorted with both amplitude and phase, this distortion leads to deepening adjacent channel interference. So a technique to change the nonlinear characteristic with linear characteristic is needed. In this paper, Among all techniques, we adopts a polynomial pre-distortion technique. Pre-distorted signal by pre-distorter has opposite characteristic with HPA. In result, the signal passed through pre-distorter and HPA has linear characteristic. But the accuracy of opposite characteristic of HPA is decreased at near portion of saturation point. So we improve the accuracy of opposite characteristic of HPA by using PAPR reduction method. In this paper, an adaptive polynomial pre-distortion technique is introduced to counterbalance the nonlinear characteristic of the transmit power amplifier, and a PAPR reduction method is introduced to increase efficiency of polynomial pre-distorter.

Recently, many studies using reinforcement learning-based autoscaling have been performed to make autoscaling policies that are adaptive to changes in the environment and meet specific purposes. However, training the reinforcement learning-based Horizontal Pod Autoscaler(HPA) policy in a real environment requires a lot of money and time. And it is not practical to retrain the reinforcement learning-based HPA policy from scratch every time in a real environment. In this paper, we implement a reinforcement learning-based HPA in Kubernetes, and propose a transfer leanring technique using a queuing model-based simulation to accelerate the training of a reinforcement learning-based HPA policy. Pre-training using simulation enabled training the policy through simulation experience without consuming time and resources in the real environment, and by using the transfer learning technique, the cost was reduced by about 42.6% compared to the case without transfer learning technique.

The High Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) could be a severe Problem in OFDM performance since it causes the significant distortion to the transmitting signal through a nonlinear device such as High Power Amplifier (HPA). In this paper, the performance of Peak cancellation method according to the HPA characteristic is comparatively analyzed with the clipping and windowing methods. The BER performances and the out-band power spectrums are demonstrated in detail.
The DNA methylated by Hpa II methylase was not cleaved by Sma, I, Ava I and Nae I endonucleases. This experimental data could be interpreted as strong evidences that Sma I, Ava I and Nae I methylases which yet to be isolated would methylate on the inmost cytosine nucleotide within their hexameric recognition sequences. The facts that Sma I, Ava I and Nae I endonucleases can not cleave the DNA methylated by Hpa II methylase are the valuable informations for protecting DNAs upon cleavage reactions by Sma I, Ava I and NAe I endonucleases especially for cDNA insertion experiments into vector DNAs using Sma I, Ava I and Nae I oligonucleotide linkers. In the case of Xma I endonuclease, partially cleaved DNA fragments were observed although the reaction rate was greatly decreased. This result implies that the methylation site of Xma I methylase which yet to be isolated would not be the same as that of Hpa II methylase in Xma I sequence.
