  • In recent years, research about Natural User Interface (NUI) has become focused because NUI system can give natural feelings for users in virtual reality. Most important thing in NUI system is how to communicate with the computer system. There are many things to interact with users such as speech, hand gestures, body actions. Among them, hand gesture is suitable for the purpose of NUI because people often use a relatively high frequency in daily life and hand gesture have meaning only by itself. This hand gestures called multi-cultural hand gesture and we proposed the method to recognize this kind of hand gestures. Proposed method is composed of Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) used for hand shape recognition and Histogram of Oriented Displacements (HOD) used for hand center point trajectory recognition.

  • Highly oriented diamond (HOD) films in polycrystalline can be grown on the (100) silicon substrate by microwave plasma CVD. Bias enhanced nucleation (BEN) method was adopted for highly oriented diamond deposition with high nucleation density and uniformity. The substrate was biased up to -250[Vdc] and bias time required for forming a diamond film was varied up to 25 minutes. Diamond was deposited by using $\textrm{CH}_4$/CO and $H_2$ mixture gases by microwave plasma CVD. Nucleation density and degree of orientation of the diamond films were studied by SEM. Thermal conductivity of the diamond films was ∼5.27[W/cm.K] measured by $3\omega$ method.

  • The genus Burkholderia consists of extremely versatile bacteria that occupy diverse niches and are commonly encountered in the rhizosphere of crop plants. In this study, we characterized three plant growth promoting strains assigned as Burkholderia sp. using biochemical and molecular characterization. The Burkholderia spp. strains CBMB40, CBPB-HIM, and CBPB-HOD were characterized using biochemical tests, BIOLOG carbon substrate utilization, fatty acid methyl ester analysis, analysis of recA gene sequences, and DNA-DNA hybridization. The results from these studies indicated that the strains CBMB40, CBPB-HIM, and CBPB-HOD can be assigned under Burkholderia vietnamiensis, Burkholderia ubonensis, and Burkholderia pyrrocinia, respectively.

  • This is a review of the theory and practical uses of the $Hom{\grave{e}}s$' systematic variations in the fertilizer experiments. General characteristics of the method are as follows : 1 ) It could be recommended as a reasonable met hod for fertilizer experiments in order to improve the weak points in the conventional methods. 2 ) This met hod is a determination of the total amount of nutrients and the relative proportion of each nutrient in the total. 3 ) Concerning of the high yields of crops this met hod should be adapted for the systematic fertilization. 4 ) This is an usable method not only for the macro- but also micro elements investigations.

  • We develop a series of N-body data challenges, functional to the final analysis of the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) Data Release 16 (DR16) galaxy sample, primarily based on high-fidelity catalogs constructed from the Outer Rim simulation. We generate synthetic galaxy mocks by populating Outer Rim halos with a variety of halo occupation distribution (HOD) schemes of increasing complexity, spanning different redshift intervals. We then assess the performance of three complementary redshift space distortion (RSD) models in configuration and Fourier space, adopted for the analysis of the complete DR16 eBOSS sample of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs). We find that all the methods are mutually consistent, with comparable systematic errors on the Alcock-Paczynski parameters and the growth of structure, and robust to different HOD prescriptions - thus validating the robustness of the models and the pipelines used for the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and full shape clustering analysis. Our study is relevant for the final eBOSS DR16 'consensus cosmology', as the systematic error budget is informed by testing the results of analyses against these high-resolution mocks. In addition, it is also useful for future large-volume surveys, since similar mock-making techniques and systematic corrections can be readily extended to model for instance the DESI galaxy sample.

  • In this study, a new multimedia data converter is proposed. Also the PC interfacing met hod using the parallel port of is suggested. The image compression/decompression is based on the JPEG algorithm, which is widely used for an effective compression in the image processing industry. The suggested interfacing method is based on the IEEE1284 and IEEE1284.3 protocol, which is a standard in the PC's parallel port interface.

  • Organic mercurial fungicides, for seed treatments and dust formulations, has been increasingly used by farmers. Evaluation of the purity of organic mercurial fungicides has been performed by precipitation method at this laboratory. There are several methods for the an alyses of organic mercuric formulation, among which are (1) Precipitation met hod, (2) Volatilization method, (3) Volumetric method, and (4) Dithizon method. These methods, however, show some deffects in specificity (differentiation of organic form) and quantitativity. Polarography applied for the estimation of phenyl mercuric acetate was found to be simple, rapid and accurate. Tile fundamental method of polarography arid accuracy of analysis are discussed statistically and a satisfactory results was obtained.

  • Background: Considering the kinetic chain of the lower extremity, a pronated foot position (PFP) can affect malalignment of the lower extremity, such as a dynamic knee valgus (DKV). Although the DKV during several single-leg movement tests has been investigated, no studies have compared the differences in DKV during a single-leg step down (SLSD) between subjects with and without PFP. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the DKV during SLSD between subjects with and without PFP. Methods: Twelve subjects with PFP (9 men, 3 women) and 15 subjects without PFP (12 men, 3 women) participated in this study. To calculate the DKV, frontal plane projection angle (FPPA), knee-in distance (KID), and hip-out distance (HOD) during SLSD were analyzed by two-dimensional video analysis software (Kinovea). Results: The FPPA was significantly lower in PFP group, compared with control group (166.4° ± 7.5° and 174.5° ± 5.5°, p < 0.05). Also, the KID was significantly greater in PFP group, compared with control group (12.7 ± 3.9 cm and 7.3 ± 2.4 cm, p < 0.05). However, the HOD not significantly differed between two groups (12.7 ± 1.7 cm and 11.4 ± 2.5 cm, p > 0.05). Conclusion: The PFP is associated with lower FPPA and greater KID. When assess the DKV during SLSD, the PFP should be considered as a crucial factor for occurrence of DKV.

  • Even for the same structure, the analysis results as well as design values might have differences depending on the selected analysis model. Therefore it is desirable to determin model considering the required accuracy of the analysis results, the given time restried economy. " Standard Specification for Roadway Bridges" Division V, Seismic Design prove "Single Mode Spectral Analysis Method" as the basic analysis method for the earthquake design of roadway bridges classified as "regular". In this study a 5 span steel box girl selected which satisfies the regularity and the applicability of the provided analysis simplified model in checked. For the comparision of the analysis results, "Multi-Mode Spect Method" is used with a detailed model.hod" is used with a detailed model.odel.
