In this paper presents the design and demonstrate 8 W 3-stage HPA(High Power Amplifier) MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) for Ka-band down link satellite communications payload system at 19.5 GHz ~ 22 GHz frequency band. The HPA MMIC consist of 3-stage GaN HEMT(Hight Electron Mobility Transistors). The gate periphery of $1^{st}$ stage, $2^{nd}$ stage and output stage is determined $8{\times}50{\times}2$ um, $8{\times}50{\times}4$ um and $8{\times}50{\times}8$ um, respectively. The fabricated HPA MMIC shows size $3,400{\times}3,200um^2$, small signal gain over 29.6 dB, input matching -8.2 dB, output matching -9.7 dB, output power 39.1 dBm and PAE 25.3 % by using 0.15 um GaN technology at 20 V supply voltage in 19.5~22 GHz frequency band. Therefore, this HPA MMIC is believed to be adaptable Ka-band satellite communication payloads down link system.
This study was performed the analysis of seven kinds of the hight school chemistry II textbooks based on the 6th curriculum. Particularly, inquiry activity part was analyzed by the three dimension framework which consists of inquiry content dimension, inquiry process dimension and inquiry context dimension. In the analysis of the inquiry content dimension of inquiry activities, the total number of themes in seven kinds of textbook was 212. And the number of inquiry activities in seven kinds of textbook was diverse: A textbook had 28, B textbook 25, C textbook 31, D textbook 35, E textbook 31, F textbook 29 and G textbook 33. As for the avaerage number of inquiry activities of each chapter, chapter I "Material Science" is 3.00(9.91${\%}$), chapter II "Atomic Structure and Periodic Table" 4.57(15.1${\%}$), chapter III "Chemical Bonding and Compound" 6.86(22.6${\%}$), chapter IV "State of Matter and Solution" 7.00(23.1${\%}$), chapter V "Chemical Reaction" 8.86(29.2${\%}$). For the analysis of inquiry process dimension, it follows in the order of 'observation and measuring (66.7${\%}$)', 'Interpreting data and formulating generalizations (26.5${\%}$)', 'seeing a problem and seeking ways to solve it (4.1%)', and 'building, testing and revising the theoretical model (2.7${\%}$)'. As for the analysis of the inquiry context dimension, the scientific context occupied 90.5${\%}$, the individual context 4.3${\%}$, the social context 0.9${\%}$, and the technical context 4.3${\%}$. It shows that the proportion of STS(Science-Technology-Society) related contents in inquiry activities was only 9.5${\%}$.
This study was to analyze the displacement and the magnitude and mode of distribution of the stresses in the lower overdenture, the mucous membrane, the abutment teeth and the mandibular supporting bone when various abutment designs were subjected to different loading schemes. For this study, the two-dimensional finite element method was used. The models of overdenture and mandibe with the canine and the second premolar remaining, were fabricated. In the first design, a 1 mm space was prepared between the denture and the dome abutment with the height of 2 mm(OS). In the second design, a contact between the denture and the occlusal third of the dome abutment with the hight of 2 mm was prepared(OC). In the third design, a 0.5 mm space was prepared between the denture and 8 degree tapered cylindrical abutments with the height of 7 mm(TS). In the fourth design, a contact between the denture and the occlusal two thirds of the conical abutments with the height of 7 mm was prepared(TC). In order to represent the same physiological condition as the fixed areas of the mandible under loading schemes, the eight nodes which lie at the mandibular angle, the coronoid process and the mandibular condyle were assumed to be fixed. Each model was loaded with a magnitude of 10 Kgs on the first molar region (P1) and 7 Kgs on the central incisor region (P2) in a vertical direction. The force of 10 Kgs was then applied distributively from the first premolar to the second molar of each motel in a vertical direction (P3). The results were as follows: 1. The vertical load on the central incisor region(P2) produced the higher displacement and stress concentration than that on the posterior region(P1, P3). 2. The case of space between abutment and denture base produced higher displacement than that of contact, and the case of long abutment produced higher displacement than that of short abutment because of low rigidity of denture base. 3. The magnitude of the torque and vertical force to the abutment teeth and the stress distribution to the denture base was higher in the telescope coping than in the overdenture coping. 4. The vertical load on the central incisor region(P2) produced higher equivalent stress in the mandible than that on the posterior region(P1, P3). 5. The case of space between abutment and denture base produced better stress distribution to the farther abutment from the loading point than that of contact. 6. In case of sound abutment teeth, the type of telescope coping can be used, hilt in case of weak abutment, the type of overdenture coping is considered to be favorable generally.
The physicochemical properties of starch isolated from two kinds of waxy barley were investigated. The average diameters of starch granules of Changyoung and Smire were 13.6 and 16.6 microns, respectively, and most of starch granules were round shape. X-ray diffraction patterns of two samples were A-types and amylose contents of two waxy barley starches were 4%, blue values and alkali numbers of Changyoung and Smire were 0.22 and 0.18, 5.2 and 4.0, raising powers of them were 167 and 173, respectively. The optical transmitance of 0.1% suspension of waxy barley starches increased rapidly from $51^{\circ}C\;to\;75^{\circ}C$. Amylogram data on 5% of Changyoung and Smire starch solutions showed the gelatinization temperature of 63 and $62^{\circ}C$, maximum peak hight of 920 and 900 B.U., respectively. Waxy barley starches had higher swelling powers than non waxy barley starch. The starch pastes prepared from waxy barleys retrograded much slower than that of non waxy barley.
Two full scale precast pretensioned dapped ended rectangular beams designed by PCI design handbook for a major domestic live load of market and parking building - 500kgf/㎡ and 1,200kgf/㎡ were investigated experimentally. The bottom length of beams was 60cm which was same to the length of rectangular column in the base of five-story market or parking buildings. The height of dap was web hight plus half of the flange height within the allowable limit of PCI method. Shear tests were performed on four beam ends. Followings were obtained from the experimental study. All of the specimens were fully complied with the PCI design handbook. Two of four specimens which were designed for live load of 1,200kgf/㎡ showed crackings at the re-entrant corner of dap before the full service loadings, and failed by direct shear at the load level much less than their calculated nominal strength. The specimens designed for live load of 1,200kgf/㎡ failed at 772 tonf and 78.36tonf by direct shear crackings. This strength was less than PCI limit of 81.9 tonf and higher than ACI limit of 65.62tonf. Thus, the limit suggested by ACI seems more reasonable in regard of safety in view of this test results. According to load-strain curves, the strain of hanger reinforcement reached almost yield strain. It is recommended to use more inclined hanger reinforcement of improve the strength and serviceability.

This study was performed to identify the effect of fertilizer application and planting method on growth and yield of 'Seolhyang' strawberry during seedling raising. According to the concentration of fertilizer applied, the height of daughter plants was the highest at an EC of $0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. Leaf number and crown diameter were greatest at an EC of $0.6-0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. In the first measurement, root number was highest in non-fertilizer application, while root weight was heaviest in non-fertilizer application and EC $0.4dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. The higher the concentration of fertilizer applied as culture media, the lower the growth rate. Thirty days after planting on the main field, plant height and number of new leaf were highest at an EC of $0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. However, no significant difference was found in leaf length and width and chlorophyll content according to fertilizer application. Marketable yield of 25 g or higher was greatest in EC $0.6dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. In contrast, no significance was found in total marketable yield at an EC of $0.4-0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. Aconsistent pattern was exhibited in the growth of 1-5 harvesting flower clusters according to planting method. The length of leaf and flower cluster was short and chlorophyll content was low, when bed soil was removed 100% in harvesting of the first flower cluster. In all treatment, leaf length was shortened until harvesting of the second and third flower cluster, but rapidly lengthened in harvesting of the third and fourth flower clusters. Moreover, the length of flower cluster had a increasing tendency from harvesting of the third flower cluster. However, chlorophyll content was reduced continuously until harvesting of the fifth flower cluster, and was lowest in harvesting of the fourth flower cluster without removal of bed soil. Total yield was greatest in treatment of crown removal in bed soil between November and May. Late marketable yield between March and May was highest in treatment of 100% bed soil removal, followed by treatment of crown removal. Marketable yield of 25 g or higher was greatest in treatment of crown removal between December and February, while greatest in treatment of 100% bed soil removal between March and May.
This study was conducted to select the temperature for hot air drying method, cutting method, and solution that inhibits enzymatic browning in making high quality powder from sweetpotato roots. It was observed that $70^{\circ}C$ was the best temperature for air drying method wherein the dry matter rating, dry matter time, flour yield and chemical component were considered. The proper cutting thickness should be 2.0 mm considering the vitamin C content and sensory evaluation of sweetpotato flour. Also, 1% vitamin C solution inhibited enzymatic browning of sweetpotato.
The ministry of Environment of Korea initiated two follow-up surveys in 2005 and 2006 to investigate environmental effect on children's health. These two cohorts, referred to as the 2005 Cohort and 2006 Cohort, were followed up three times every two years. This data set was referred to as the Children's Health and Environmental Research (CHEER) data set. This paper reproduces the existing research results of Kim et al. (Journal of the Korean Data and Information Science Society, 25, 987-998, 2014) and Lee et al. (The Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, 29, 1295-1310, 2016) and derive a benchmark dose lower limit (BMDL) for blood lead level for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) after pooling two cohort data sets. The different ADHD rating scales were unified by applying the conversion formula proposed by Lee et al. (2016). The random effect model and AR(1) model were built to reflect the longitudinal characteristics and regression to the mean phenomenon. Based on these models the BMDLs for blood lead levels were derived using the BMDL formula and the simulation. We obtained a hight level of BMDLs when we pooled two independent cohort data sets.
The aim of this work was to investigate how the mulberry shoots grew well when the mulberry branches were cut down, in hight, 1/3, $\frac{1}{2}$ and 2/3 of them, respectively, just before the Spring budding. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The rate of un-sprouted buds decreased sharply down as much as half of the control if the mulberry branches were cut off. The treatment, 1/3, was best one of various cut down sizes and the un-sprouted buds concentrated on the lower parts of the branches. 2. Even though the branches were cut down, at first it seemed flat to accelerate the sprouting of buds, but rather to have a tendency to become late. The speed of leaf growth, however, became faster after the sprouting. It took 7~9 days from the beginning of buddings to the 5th full grown leaf, and.7 days for the shortest one in the treatment, 2/3, when compared with 16 days of the control. 3. If the branches were cut down, the growth of the new sprouts was accelerated. For 45 days (on 5th of May to on 10th of June), therefore. the shoots had grown up to 1.6~2.5 times of the control, 34cm long. The shoots of which the branches were cut down at 2/3 of them were longest (83cm). Furthermore. the speed of shoot growth of cut-down branches was faster than that of the control. 4. In the increased rate of the number of the mulberry leaves, there was not significant difference between the control and the treatments. 5. The total amount of shoot growth showed considerably much more in the treatments than in the control. The successing growing shoots of treatment, 2/3 were little in a number but longest per one shoot in mean shoot length. 6. It seems to be much available that we may cut down branches at 2/3 of them in order to get the scions for the cutting as soon as possible.
An experiment was conducted to evaluate shattered industrial polyurethane (PUR) and cellular glass foam (CGF) as growth medium components. Pot chrysanthemum 'Pink Pixie Time 'was cuttured in media containing various volume ratios of PUR, CGF, peatmoss, coir, and perlite. Before plant culture, pH and EC of media were determined. Container capacity (%) was low in perlite and CGF-containing media, but it increased when incorporation ratio of peatmoss or coir was increased. pH was stable between 5.0 and 6.3, but was high in coir-contaning media as compared to other media tested. EC was very high in coir-containing media. Hight at 34 days after planting was the greatest in media containing CGF, and number. of leaves was similar among treatments. Growth in PUR-containinly media was poorer than that in the other media, with some leaf edge burning. Trends in growth measured at 97 days after planting was similar to that measured at 34 days after planting.
