ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase) 검사성적과 E형 간염항체 양성률간의 관련성 (The Correlation between ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase) Value and Prevalence of Anti-HEV)

  • In order to elucidate the prevalence of anti-HEV, anti-HCV and HBsAg in ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase)-elevated patient group and healthy person control group, we examined anti-HEV, anti-HCV and HBsAg in 92 persons, respectively. The prevalence of anti-HEV in ALT-elevated patient group (4.3%) was not significantly higher than that (2.2%) of healthy person control group(P>0.05). While in healthy person control group the prevalence of anti-HEV in female (2.4%) was higher than that (2.0%) in male, and in ALT-elevated group male (4.8%) was higher than female (3.3%), there were no significances. The positive rate of anti-HEV was not significantly increased with age between healthy person control and ALT-elevated patient group. The odds ratio's of HEV, HCV and HBV with ALT-elevated patient group were 2.05 (95% CI: 0.31-16.54), 8.67 (95% CI: 1.06-188.63) and 7.23 (95% CI: 2.47-22.71), respectively, but had no significance. It was turned out that HCV and HBV were significantly correlated with ALT-elevated patient group, but HEV had no significance with it in this paper.

Identification of Hepatitis E Virus in Bovine and Porcine Raw Livers

  • Several animal species including pigs are directly involved in the zoonotic transmission of the hepatitis E virus (HEV) to humans. This study was conducted to detect HEV in bovine and porcine raw livers by nested reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Zoonotic HEV strains were identified in 1.0 and 3.0% of the tested bovine and porcine livers, respectively. HEV-4 was detected in the bovine livers, but both HEV-3 and HEV-4 were identified in the porcine livers. These results indicate that zoonotic transmission of HEV may occur via consumption of raw or undercooked livers of pigs and cattle.

  • Recently, not only common types of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) such as series or parallel but many other types of HEVs including 4WD hybrid electric vehicle have been developed and released. In this study, analysis of fuel economy and driving performance for 2WD and 4WD HEV are conducted using backward simulation based on dynamic programming. To analyze the characteristics of 4WD HEV, tire slip model based on vehicle dynamics was applied to the backward simulation program. As a result, 2WD HEV shows better fuel economy than 4WD HEV because of relatively simple configuration. However, in a severe road condition, 4WD HEV shows better driving performance that 2WD HEV had about 6% of impossible time to follow the driving cycle though the 4WD HEV had no impossible time.

부산지역에서 분리된 엔테로바이러스의 유행양상 분석 및 유전자형 연구 (Genetic Characterization for Human Enterovirus Isolated from Busan Region in Korea)

  • 부산지역에서 2007년부터 2009년까지 3년 동안 임상적으로 HEV 의심 환자 검체 총 2,743건(대변 1,503건, 뇌척수액 1,213건, 인후도찰물 27건)의 검체 중 240건(8.7%)에서 HEV가 검출되었다. 연도별로는 2007년에는 HEV 감염의심 환자 검체 1,001건에서 86건(8.6%)에서 HEV가 분리되었고, 2008년의 경우 979건 중 85건(8.7%), 2009년 763건 중 69건(9.0%)이 분리되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 검체 2,743건 중 1,315건이 6월부터 9월까지 4개월간 의뢰되어 전체 의뢰건수의 48.0%를 차지하였다. HEV는 5월부터 분리율이 증가하기 시작해서 6월(15.5%), 7월(15.8%), 8월(15.3%)에 높게 나타나 HEV 분리가 하절기에 집중되어 나타난 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 검사건수 별 양성률은 남자 9.5%, 여자 8.7%로 성별에 따른 분리율의 차이를 찾기는 어려웠으며, 대부분 10세 이하의 연령에서 바이러스가 분리되었다. 분리된 HEV 분리주들에 대하여 VP1 region sequencing을 통하여 HEV의 유전형을 확인하여 HEV-A와 HEV-B 두 종류의 유전자형이 부산지역에서 유행하였음을 확인하였다. HEV-A의 부산지역 분리주 31주를 이용하여 상동성 비교분석을 실시한 결과 분리주 31주 사이에 21.8~100%의 상동성을 보였으며, HEV-B의 부산지역 분리주 41주를 이용하여 상동성 비교분석을 실시한 결과 분리주 41주 사이에 56.0~100%의 상동성 보여 최근 3년간 부산지역에 분리된 HEV 혈청형들 사이에 상동성의 차이를 보이는 결과를 확인 할 수 있었으며, 이를 볼 때 부산지역에서 유행하는 HEV 내에 상당한 정도의 유전자 변이를 추정해 볼 수 있었다.

Motor Control of a Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle during Mode Change without an Integrated Starter Generator

  • In this paper, a motor control algorithm for performing a mode change without an integrated starter generator (ISG) is suggested for the automatic transmission-based hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). Dynamic models of the HEV powertrains such as engine, motor, and mode clutch are derived for the transient state during the mode change, and the HEV performance simulator is developed. Using the HEV performance bench tester, the characteristics of the mode clutch torque are measured and the motor torque required for the mode clutch synchronization is determined. Based on the dynamic models and the mode clutch torque, a motor torque control algorithm is presented for mode changes, and motor control without the ISG is investigated and compared with the existing ISG control.

  • Motor & generator operation at widely variable speeds is needed in various applications but hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV) stand out today, as quite a few companies are launching this year their mass production of HEVs. The quest for better starter-generators is far from ended, though. The present review paper unfolds a comparative critical evaluation of various starter-generators and their control for HEV. Induction, interior PM synchronous, transverse-flux PM synchronous, switched reluctance, together with claw-pole and biaxial excitation PM synchronous (BEGA) configurations with their control are all considered in system evaluations.

  • With aggravation of environmental contamination and energy resource exhaustion, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) that can be economically operated with low fuel consumption are receiving greater attention. For performance improvement of such HEV, the development of efficient transmission can be seen as one of core technologies such as performance of components and driving strategy. Dual clutch transmission (DCT) is actively studied as a transmission type for HEV due to its advantages of having excellent power transmission efficiency based on manual transmission characteristic, resolving the problem of power interruption, and realizing driving convenience of automatic transmission (AT). In this paper, one diesel HEV equipped with 6-Speed DCT, modelled using MATLAB/Simulink, and a performance simulator developed for this vehicle are introduced. Driving simulation with driving cycles such as FTP75 and NYCC was performed using the developed performance simulator, and the simulated results regarding state of charge and fuel economy, when AT and DCT are applied to this diesel hybrid vehicle respectively, are compared. This performance simulator can be utilized to develop a control algorithm for improving the fuel economy of HEV with DCT.

  • Considering the world's environmental problem, HEVs are projected as one of the solution. The keys of the HEV cruise control are expanding the use of electric motor and operating the internal combustion engine in the efficient region. This paper presents a new structure of SOC sustaining model where state-machine control is used. The proposed model defines battery charging and discharging as states and SOC of the battery as control variables. In this paper, we introduce various methods in deterministic rule-based control for HEV and describe a new SOC sustaining controller used by state-machine.

Prevalence of antibodies against hepatitis E virus in wild boars (Sus scrofa) in Korea

  • We determined the nationwide seroprevalence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection in the wild boar population in Korea. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) results showed that 42% of the 528 wild boars that were hunted between 2013 and 2014 were anti-HEV antibody positive. Furthermore, all Korean provinces showed an HEV seroprevalence between 9.8% and 51.1%, suggesting that wild boar HEV infection occurs throughout the country. Importantly, infected wild boar could act as a potential reservoir for HEV and could aid transmission to other animals and humans.

  • Background: Endemic circulation of human-specific hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotypes 1 and 2 may occult the importance of sporadic zoonotic HEV transmissions in Africa. Increasing numbers of studies reporting anti-HEV antibodies in cattle and the discovery of infectious HEV in cow milk has raised public health concern, but cattle exposure has seldom been investigated in Africa. Objectives: This study aimed at investigating the role of cows in the epidemiology of HEV in Burkina Faso and farmers habits in terms of dairy product consumption as a prerequisite to estimate the risk of transmission to humans. Methods: Sera from 475 cattle and 192 pigs were screened for the presence of anti-HEV antibodies while HEV RNA in swine stools was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Data on mixed farming, dairy product consumption and selling habits were gathered through questionnaires. Results: The overall seroprevalence in cattle was 5.1% and herd seroprevalence reached 32.4% (11/34). Herd seropositivity was not associated with husbandry practice or presence of rabbits on the farms. However, herd seropositivity was associated with on-site presence of pigs, 80.7% of which had anti-HEV antibodies. The majority of farmers reported to preferentially consume raw milk based dairy products. Conclusions: Concomitant presence of pigs on cattle farms constitutes a risk factor for HEV exposure of cattle. However, the risk of HEV infections associated with raw cow dairy product consumption is currently considered as low.
