Seroprevalence of hepatitis E virus in zoo animal species in Korea

  • Hepatitis E virus (HEV) can infect not only human but also several animals. This study has been conducted to evaluate the comprehensive anti-HEV seroprevalence in zoo animals in Korea. Anti-HEV antibodies were identified in 14 of 64 zoo animal species. HEV antibodies were detected for the first time in Eurasian Lynx, Setland Pony, Fallow Deer, Ezo Sika, Formosa Deer, East Wapitis, Barasingha, Corriedale, American Bison, Guanacos, Reticulated Giraffe, and Saanen. These results indicate that the several zoo animal species were exposed to HEV.

회생제동 전자제어 유압모듈을 이용한 하이브리드 차량의 에너지 회수 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Energy Regeneration Algorithm using Electro-Hydraulic Braking Module for Hybrid Electric Vehicles)

  • In this paper, an energy regeneration algorithm is proposed to make the maximum use of the regenerative braking energy for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) equipped with a continuous variable transmission(CVT). The regenerative algorithm is developed by considering the battery state of charge(SOC), vehicle velocity and motor capacity. The hydraulic module consists of a reducing valve and a power unit to supply the front wheel brake pressure according to the control algorithm. In order to evaluate the performance of the regenerative braking algorithm and the hydraulic module, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) is performed. In the HILS system, the brake system consists of four wheel brakes and the hydraulic module. Dynamic characteristics of the HEV are simulated using an HEV simulator. In the HEV simulator, each element of the HEV powertrain such as internal combustion engine, motor, battery and CVT is modelled using MATLAB/$Simulink^{(R)}$. In the HILS, a driver operates the brake pedal with his or her foot while the vehicle speed is displayed on the monitor in real time. It is found from the HILS that the regenerative braking algorithm and the hydraulic module suggested in this paper provide a satisfactory braking performance in tracking the driving schedule and maintaining the battery state of charge.

  • The HEV (Hybrid Electrical Vehicle) becomes commercialized recently because of high fuel efficiency and low air pollution. The highest output power system except the traction motor is an air conditioner compressor in HEV system. The full or hybrid electric compressor is applied for HEV. The general HEC (Hybrid Electric Compressor) requires the half power motor and drive system of the full electric compressor because the rated output power of motor drive system is designed to charge the minimum cooling capacity at the time of idle stop. Therefore, this hybrid electric is more economical and practical solution. In this paper, we studied about the motor drive system of hybrid electric compressor for HEV. The applied voltage specification is 42 V, an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is designed and applied as the compressor drive motor.

  • Surely fuel economy(F.E.) label is needed to meet consumer's right to know. Korea has developed and adopted F.E. correction equation similar to the feeling, because consumer complain about F.E. label higher than they feel. Recently, through continuous research and development high-efficiency & performance green car like HEV, PHEV and EV are being sold. In this situation, it is needed to know whether the current equation can reflect a part of their improved technic or not. In this paper, to review current equation through test using hybrid vehicles on 5-cycle SOC, correction equation and F.E were discussed. The result show HEV didn't meet the SOC error standard on US06. Also, HEV has bigger F.E. difference between FTP-75 and 5-cycle than conventional vehicles. However, the correction equation that include HEV almost same with current one.

Prevalence of antibodies against hepatitis E virus in wild boars (Sus scrofa) in Korea

  • We determined the nationwide seroprevalence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection in the wild boar population in Korea. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) results showed that 42% of the 528 wild boars that were hunted between 2013 and 2014 were anti-HEV antibody positive. Furthermore, all Korean provinces showed an HEV seroprevalence between 9.8% and 51.1%, suggesting that wild boar HEV infection occurs throughout the country. Importantly, infected wild boar could act as a potential reservoir for HEV and could aid transmission to other animals and humans.

  • This paper deals with the design and modal characteristics analysis of a drive-train for a paralleltype hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The function of the drive-train system (DTS) in the HEV combines or divides the torque and velocity from the internal combustion engine along with the induction motor. The system consists of a compound planetary gear and unit's electromagnetic clutch to provide the operation modes such as Engine Only (EO), Electric Vehicle (EV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) modes. In order to investigate the characteristics of the velocity and torque flow for the system, dynamic models of the HEV with DTS are derived from the prototype DTS. The performance of the derived dynamic models is evaluated by both computer simulations and experiments according to each mode.

  • Motor & generator operation at widely variable speeds is needed in various applications but hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV) stand out today, as quite a few companies are launching this year their mass production of HEVs. The quest for better starter-generators is far from ended, though. The present review paper unfolds a comparative critical evaluation of various starter-generators and their control for HEV. Induction, interior PM synchronous, transverse-flux PM synchronous, switched reluctance, together with claw-pole and biaxial excitation PM synchronous (BEGA) configurations with their control are all considered in system evaluations.

  • 본 논문에서는 HEV UV단자를 자동화 모듈인 씨마트론 다이 디자인을 활용하여 스트립 레이아웃설계를 3D로 하였다. 제품의 스탬핑을 원활하게 하기 위하여 스트립 레이아웃을 33.5도 경사지게 수정하여 광폭 1열 1개 뽑기의 내측캐리어를 단 배열로 블랭크 레이아웃을 최적화하였다. 1개의 금형에서 두개의 단자를 공용으로 양산하기 29개 공정으로 3D 스트립 레이아웃설계를 완성하였다.

  • 최근 에너지/환경의 문제로 HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle)이 대두되고 있는데, HEV를 위한 대표적인 기술로서 제동시 에너지로 발전하여 전기를 회수하는 회생제동이 있다. 회생제동기술은 HEV 뿐만 아니라 건설기기, 하이브리드 버스, 전철, 엘리베이터 등에 폭넓게 활용이 가능하다. 회생제동용 에너지 저장원으로서는 고출력 및 환경특성이 우수한 슈퍼캐패시터가 적합하며, 단일 셀이 아닌 수십 ~ 수백 개의 셀이 모듈로 사용되는 만큼, 모듈화 설계 기술이 필요 하다. 수백 개의 셀을 모듈화하기 위해서 개별 셀의 전압을 모니터링 하는 기술과 충방전 시 밸렌싱 하는 기술, 사용환경에 따라 열 관리 기술이 필요하며, 이들 기능을 수행할 수 있는 통합 시스템을 구비하여 안정성과 성능 향상을 하고자 한다.

하이브리드 차량의 SOC 유지전략 방법 (SOC Sustaining Strategy for HEV through State-machine Control)

  • Considering the world's environmental problem, HEVs are projected as one of the solution. The keys of the HEV cruise control are expanding the use of electric motor and operating the internal combustion engine in the efficient region. This paper presents a new structure of SOC sustaining model where state-machine control is used. The proposed model defines battery charging and discharging as states and SOC of the battery as control variables. In this paper, we introduce various methods in deterministic rule-based control for HEV and describe a new SOC sustaining controller used by state-machine.
