The occurrence of detrimental substances in the paper machine leads to reduced economic performance of paper mills through reduced capacities due to increased paper breaks and cleaning times. In this article the latest generation of BASF's laser optical pitch particle counter is employed in the examination of a paper mill operating two paper machines and using a mixture of thermo-mechanical pulp and recycled fibres. The potential of the new instrument to differentiate between particles on the basis of size and chemical composition is discussed. In addition, direct evidence of the periodic and locational variation of detrimental substances in the paper machine is given. Finally, an example of the application of BASF's laser optical pitch particle counter in the selection of a suitable fixative system for a complex furnish is presented.

곡면 복원이나 곡면 복원과 질은 관련이 있는 노말 추정을 하는 대부분의 방법은 결정론적인 알고리즘을 사용한다. 결정론적 알고리즘은 속도가 빠르고, 오차가 크지 않은 입력에 대해서는 좋은 질의 곡면 복원을 할 수 있다. 그러나 결정론적 방법의 특성상 이상치나 노이즈를 가진 데이터에 대해서는 안정된 복원 결과를 얻을 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 앙상블이라고 불리는 통계적인 방법을 사용해서 곡면 복원과 노말 추정을 하는 기존의 알고리즘을 개선한다. 앙상블 기법은 먼저 입력 점 집합을 무작위로 샘플링해서 점 집합의 부분집합을 만든다. 그리고 나서 만들어진 부분 집합에 독립적으로 결정론적인 알고리즘을 적용하여 결과를 얻어낸다. 마지막으로, 각각의 서로 다른 결과를 결합하여 더 우수한 최종결과를 얻어낸다. 널리 쓰이는 노말 추정 기법[11]과 Multi-level Partitions of Unity implicit [18]를 사용해서 앙상블이 효과적으로 노이즈가 많은 데이터를 처리할 수 있는 것을 보여준다.

In this paper, we show that if T is a hyponormal operator on a non-separable Hilbert space H, then $Re\;{\omega}^0_{\alpha}(T)\;{\subset}\;{\omega}^0_{\alpha}(Re\;T)$, where ${\omega}^0_{\alpha}(T)$ is the weighted Weyl spectrum of weight a with ${\alpha}\;with\;{\aleph}_0{\leq}{\alpha}{\leq}h:=dim\;H$. We also give some conditions under which the product of two ${\alpha}-Weyl$ operators is ${\alpha}-Weyl$ and its converse implication holds, too. Finally, we show that the weighted Weyl spectrum of a hyponormal operator satisfies the spectral mapping theorem for analytic functions under certain conditions.

Absorption of fat-soluble vi tamin, retinol occurs mainly in the proximal part of small intestine. But its intestinal transport mechanism isn't yet clear. The aim of the present study was to investigate on the mechanism of absorption of retinol by determining a concentration-dependent kinetic of retinol absorption in rats. The study was carried out by applying in vivo technique in which vitamin solution was infused to intestinal lumen and at the same time thoracic duct and choledochus duct were canulated to collect samples. The investigations showed that retinol is absorbed in the small intestine by a saturable, carrier-mediated transport system, i.e. wi thout signi ficant differences between the proximal and distal halves of the small intestine. The transport of retinol taken up by the enterocytes occured via different mechanisms: while the main vitamin A transport via the thoracic duct was saturated by limiting transport factors such as retinol-CRBP-II-complex formation and retinol esterification with increasing substrate concentrations, the transport of retinol metabolite product via the portal vein was proportional to the substrate concentration.ration.

This paper describes the main features of an unconventional tester for high power semiconductor devices. Two application ranges are highlighted. The tester is used for the extraction of GTO parameters and their verification by measurements. The second field comprises the determination of the radial and azimuthal current density distribution of a GTO tablet. The results are compared with the carrier lifetime distribution.

The intense noise generated by military aircraft hans a significant impact on ground crews and their families on airbase. For minimizing the impact of the aircraft noise on the airport, appropriate indoor noise standard is required. This paper studied to establish the indoor noise standard on the military airport. The aircraft noise was measured and analyzed the frequence characteristics. the remodeling of office for the noise mitigation was enforced to verify the appropriate internal noise standard and to select the method of reinforcement. The noise standard was classified three categories according to the dwelling, office and usage of building with flight train facilities and banishment in military airfield.

Results from laboratory experiments indicate that induction of phase II enzymes by dietary constituents leads to inactivation of genotoxins. In animal studies glutathione S-transferase (GST) induction was paralleled by a reduction of chemically induced tumours. However data on induction of phase II enzymes in humans is scarce. Therefore we carried out intervention studies in which we investigated the effect of cruciferous vegetables on GST induction, and studied the effects of these vegetables on meat derived urinary mutagenicity.(omitted)

The increasing evidence for the involvement of food borne HAs in the aetiology of human cancer has stimulated intense efforts to identify dietary constituents which protect against these compounds. About 280 articles on this topic have been published in the last 20 years, most of them were antimutagenicity studies with indicator cells that require addition of exogenous activation mix. The experimental models do not adequately reflect protective mechanisms that are active in vivo and may give misleading results.(omitted)

In this paper we explain why future probe storage systems will use patterned media. As a model system, magnetic patterned media will be discussed, even though their data density is limited to about $7Tbit/in^2$. The first results on magnetic probe storage on patterned media are presented, and the problem of switching field distribution is discussed in detail. Finally we will present the first steps into two-dimensional coding for patterned media.
