  • The transposed Jacobian is proposed to transform the control space from task space to joint space, in this paper. Instead of inverse Jacobian, the transposed Jacobian is preferred to avoid singularity problem, short real time calculations and its generality to apply for rectangular Jacobian. On-line Jacobian identification is proposed to cancel parametric errors produced by D-H parameters of manipulator. To identify Jacobian, the joint angles and the end-effector position are measured when tracking a desired trajectory in task space. Stability of control system is analyzed. The control system is simulated for position control of a two-link manipulator driven by permanent magnet dc motors. Simulation results are shown to compare the roles of inverse Jacobian and transposed Jacobian for transforming the control space.

  • We compare vertical profiles of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission to those of FUV and NUV emission for 39 nearby edge-on galaxies to investigate the origin of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission. A strong correlation between scale heights of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ and UV emissions is found. This may indicate that the diffuse extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission either co-exists with the extraplanar dust or originates from the similar mechanism as the diffuse extraplanar UV emission such as scattering of $H{\alpha}$ photons at diffuse extraplanar dust. The scale heights of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ and UV emissions are also compared with size, star formation rate, and star formation rate surface density of the host galaxies to figure out what is the most important parameter associated with the extraplanar emission.

  • Given operators X and Y acting on a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator A such that AX=Y. In this article, we show the following: Let $Alg\mathcal{L}$ be a tridiagonal algebra on a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ and let $X=(x_{ij})\;and\;Y=(y_{ij})$ be operators in $\mathcal{H}$. Then the following are equivalent: (1) There exists a normal operator $A=(a_{ij})\;in\;Alg\mathcal{L}$ such that AX=Y. (2) There is a bounded sequence $\{\alpha_n\}\;in\;\mathbb{C}$ such that $y_{ij}=\alpha_jx_{ij}\;for\;i,\;j\;{\in}\;\mathbb{N}$. Given vectors x and y in a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator A such that Ax=y. We show the following: Let $Alg\mathcal{L}$ be a tridiagonal algebra on a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ and let $x=(x_i)\;and\;y=(y_i)$ be vectors in $\mathcal{H}$. Then the following are equivalent: (1) There exists a normal operator $A=(a_{ij})\;in\;Alg\mathcal{L}$ such that Ax=y. (2) There is a bounded sequence $\{\alpha_n\}$ in $\mathbb{C}$ such that $y_i=\alpha_ix_i\;for\;i{\in}\mathbb{N}$.

  • We performed simultaneous observations of SiO v=1, 2, $^{29}SiO$ v=0, J=1-0 and $H_2O$ $6_{16}-5_{23}$ maser lines toward 252 OH/IR stars using the Korean VLBI Network 21m telescopes. The observations were carried out from 2011 November to 2012 July for studying SiO and $H_2O$ maser properties associated with the evolutionary stages of OH/IR stars. Both $H_2O$ and SiO masers were detected from 49 sources, one-side maser of SiO and $H_2O$ was detected from 109 and 11 sources, respectively. Mutual relations between SiO and $H_2O$ maser properties are investigated based on statistical analyses. We also investigate these maser properties in the IRAS two-color diagram related with stellar evolutionary sequence.

  • We compare vertical profiles of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission to those of the UV emission for 38 nearby edge-on late-type galaxies. It is found that detection of the "diffuse" extraplanar dust (eDust), traced by the vertically extended, scattered UV starlight, always coincides with the presence of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission. A strong correlation between the scale heights of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ and UV emissions is also found; the scale height at $H{\alpha}$ is found to be ~0.74 of the scale height at FUV. Our results may indicate the multiphase nature of the diffuse ionized gas and dust in the galactic halos. The existence of eDust in galaxies where the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission is detected suggests that a larger portion of the extraplanar $H{\alpha}$ emission than that predicted in previous studies may be caused by $H{\alpha}$ photons that originate from H II regions in the galactic plane and are subsequently scattered by the eDust. This possibility raise an advantage in studying the extraplanar diffuse ionized gas. We also find that the scale heights of the extraplanar emissions normalized to the galaxy size correlate well with the star formation rate surface density of the galaxies. The properties of eDust in our galaxies is on a continuation line of that found through previous observations of the extraplanar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons emission in more active galaxies known to have galactic winds.

  • Storm sudden commencements (SSCs) occur due to a rapid compression of the Earth's magnetic field. This is generally believed to be caused by interplanetary (IP) shocks, but with exceptions. In this paper we explore possible causes of SSCs other than IP shocks through a statistical study of geomagnetic storms using SYM-H data provided by the World Data Center for Geomagnetism - Kyoto and by applying a superposed epoch analysis to simultaneous solar wind parameters obtained with the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) satellite. We select a total of 274 geomagnetic storms with minimum SYM-H of less than -30nT during 1998-2008 and regard them as SSCs if SYM-H increases by more than 10 nT over 10 minutes. Under this criterion, we found 103 geomagnetic storms with both SSC and IP shocks and 28 storms with SSC not associated with IP shocks. Storms in the former group share the property that the strength of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF), proton density and proton velocity increase together with SYM-H, implying the action of IP shocks. During the storms in the latter group, only the proton density rises with SYM-H. We find that the density increase is associated with either high speed streams (HSSs) or interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs), and suggest that HSSs and ICMEs may be alternative contributors to SSCs.

  • The objective of this study is to activate dining facilities by integrating the factors of space marketing. In this study, It extracts the factors of space marketing applied in the real space on the basis of precedent studies. The selection standard of precedent studies focused on the planning and strategy of space marketing conducted after 2000, and 28 factors in total 16 precedent studies were extracted. We extracted only the factors of space marketing which is applicable to dining facilities by merging and reestablishing them. The extracted 12 factors included. In this way, we conducted a survey on the factors of space marketing as well as utilization and satisfaction considered to be needed for the activation of dining facilities based on H university dining facility in Seoul. Accordingly, I collected a total of 215 copies and analyzed them by SPSS program. According to the result, it indicated that there were many students who primarily used the outside dining facilities rather than university dining facilities regarding the utilization of university dining facilities, and unsatisfactory factors included the design and size of the entrance, quality of the serving space, quality and noise of the dining space, other facilities, size and quality of the rest space and drinking fountain, snack bar, and cafe regarding the satisfaction of each space. It also indicated that the factors which influent the image of university dinning facilities the most included the marketing factors considered to activate university dining facilities such as spatial factors, sensuous factors, and environment friendly factors in order. Therefore, we can consider the interacting operation system that students primarily decorate, improve and use the spaces of the outside dining facilities and other university dining facilities. In conclusion, it's need to consider activating university dining facilities which have been responsible for only basic parts by integrating the marketing factors in common with the outside dining facilities.

  • We present the analysis of KMT-2016-BLG-0212, a low flux-variation ($I_{flux-var}{\sim}20mag$) microlensing event, which is in a high-cadence (${\Gamma}=4hr^{-1}$) field of the three-telescope Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) survey. The event shows a short anomaly that is incompletely covered due to the brief visibility intervals that characterize the early microlensing season when the anomaly occurred. We show that the data are consistent with two classes of solutions, characterized respectively by low-mass brown-dwarf (q = 0.037) and sub-Neptune (q < $10^{-4}$) companions. Future high-resolution imaging should easily distinguish between these solutions.
