$70V_2O_5-10Fe_2O_3-13P_2O_5-7B_2O_3$ glasses were prepared to study the electrical conductivity and catalytic properties of the structural change with crystallization. The structural changes were analyzed by determining the molecular volume from the sample density; using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis, which indicated that $V_2O_5$, $VO_2$ and $B_2O_3$ crystals in heat-treated more than 1h samples. Especially a new crystalline phase of non-stoichiometric $Fe_{0.12}V_2O_5$ was formed after 6 h heat treatment. The V-O bonding change after crystallization was analyzed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR); V ion change from $V^{5+}$ to $V^{4+}$ was shown by XPS. Conductivity and catalytic properties were examined based on the polaronic hopping of V and Fe ions, which exhibited different valence states with crystallization.

Electronic packaging involves interconnecting, powering, protecting, and cooling of semiconductor circuits fur the use in a variety of microelectronic applications. For microelectronic circuits, the main type of failure is thermal fatigue, owing to the different thermal expansion coefficients of semiconductor chips and packaging materials. Therefore, the search for matched coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) of packaging materials in combination with a high thermal conductivity is the main task for developments of heat sink materials electronics, and good mechanical properties are also required. The aim of this work is to develop copper matrix composites reinforced with carbon nanofibers. The advantages of carbon nanofibers, especially the good thermal conductivity, are utlized to obtain a composite material having a thermal conductivity higher than 400 W/mK. The main challenge is to obtain a homogeneous dispersion of carbon nanofibers in copper. In this paper, a technology for obtaining a homogeneous mixture of copper and nanofibers will be presented and the microstructure and properties of consolidated samples will be discussed. In order to improve the bonding strength between copper and nanofibers, different alloying elements were added. The microstructure and the properties will be presented and the influence of interface modification will be discussed.
Drawing process of Al-1%Si bonding wire considering fine Si particle is analyzed in this study using FE-simulation. Al-1%Si boding wire requires electric conductivity because Al-1%Si bonding wire is used for interconnection in semiconductor device. About 1% of Si is added to Al wire for dispersion-strengthening. Distribution and shape of fine Si particle have strongly influence on the wire drawing process. In this study, therefore, the finite-element model based on the observation of wire by continuous casting is used to analyze the effect of various parameters, such as the reduction in area, the semi-die angle, the aspect ratio, the inter-particle spacing and orientation angle of the fine Si particle on wire drawing processes. The effect of each parameter on the wire drawing process is investigated from the aspect of ductility and defects of wire. From the results of the analysis, it is possible to obtain the important basic data which can be guaranteed in the fracture prevention of Al-1 %Si wire.
$TaN_x$ film is grown by plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) using t-butylimido tris(dimethylamido) tantalum as a metalorganic source with various reactive gas species, such as $N_2+H_2$ mixed gas, $NH_3$, and $H_2$. Although the pulse sequence and duration are the same, aspects of the film growth rate, microstructure, crystallinity, and electrical resistivity are quite different according to the reactive gas. Crystallized and relatively conductive film with a higher growth rate is acquired using $NH_3$ as a reactive gas while amorphous and resistive film with a lower growth rate is achieved using $N_2+H_2$ mixed gas. To examine the relationship between the chemical properties and resistivity of the film, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is conducted on the ALD-grown $TaN_x$ film with $N_2+H_2$ mixed gas, $NH_3$, and $H_2$. For a comparison, reactive sputter-grown $TaN_x$ film with $N_2$ is also studied. The results reveal that ALD-grown $TaN_x$ films with $NH_3$ and $H_2$ include a metallic Ta-N bond, which results in the film's higher conductivity. Meanwhile, ALD-grown $TaN_x$ film with a $N_2+H_2$ mixed gas or sputtergrown $TaN_x$ film with $N_2$ gas mainly contains a semiconducting $Ta_3N_5$ bond. Such a different portion of Ta-N and $Ta_3N_5$ bond determins the resistivity of the film. Reaction mechanisms are considered by means of the chemistry of the Ta precursor and reactive gas species.
Use of low bandgap polymers is the most suitable way to harvest a broader spectrum of solar radiations for solar cells. But, still there is lack of most efficient low bandgap polymer. In order to solve this problem, we have synthesised a new low bandgap polymer and investigated its interaction with the ILs to enhance its conductivity. ILs may undergo almost unlimited structural variations; these structural variations have attracted extensive attention in polymer studies. In addition to this, UV-Vis spectroscopy, confocal Raman spectroscopy and FT-IR spectroscopy results have revealed that all studied ILs (tributylmethylammonium methyl sulfate [$N_{1444}$][$MeSO_4$] from ammonium family) and 1-methylimidazolium chloride ([MIM]Cl, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [Bmim]Cl from imidazolium family) has potential to interact with polymer. Further, protic ILs shows enhanced conductivity than aprotic ILs with low bandgap polymer. This study provides the combined effect of low bandgap polymer and ILs that may generate many theoretical and experimental opportunities.
The surface of silicon dummy wafers is contaminated with metallic impurities owing to the reaction with and adhesion of chemicals during the oxidation process. These metallic impurities negatively affect the device performance, reliability, and yield. To solve this problem, a wafer-cleaning process that removes metallic impurities is essential. RCA (Radio Corporation of America) cleaning is commonly used, but there are problems such as increased surface roughness and formation of metal hydroxides. Herein, we attempt to use a chelating agent (EDTA) to reduce the surface roughness, improve the stability of cleaning solutions, and prevent the re-adsorption of impurities. The bonding between the cleaning solution and metal powder is analyzed by referring to the Pourbaix diagram. The changes in the ionic conductivity, H2O2 decomposition behavior, and degree of dissolution are checked with a conductivity meter, and the changes in the absorbance and particle size before and after the reaction are confirmed by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analyses. Thus, the addition of a chelating agent prevents the decomposition of H2O2 and improves the life of the silicon wafer cleaning solution, allowing it to react smoothly with metallic impurities.

Polymers containing poly(vinyl phosphonic) acid segments are promising candidates to be used as proton conducting membranes. Solid state NMR spectroscopy represents an ideal probe of proton motion on the molecular level, because it allows us to selectively detect the nuclei of interest. In this paper, we apply solid state NMR methods to poly(vinyl phosphonic) acid in order to demonstrate that the proton conduction of poly(vinyl phosphonic acid) results from P-OH proton through hydrogen bonding and that the condensation of phosphonic acid leads to decrease in proton conductivity. $^{1}H\;and\;^{31}P$ solid state NMR experiments are supported by quantum chemical computation of NMR parameters.
LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) technology is one of technologies which can realize SIP (System-In-a-Package). In this paper realization of gas sensor using LTCC technology was described. In the conventional gas sensor structure, wire bonding method is generally used as an interconnection method whereas in the LTCC sensor structure, via was used for the interconnection. As sensing materials, $SnO_2$ was adopted. The effect of frit glass portion on the adhesion of the sensing material to the LTCC substrate and the electrical conductivity of the sensing material were analyzed. AgPd, PdO, Pt was added to the sensing material as an additive for improving the gas sensitivity and electrical conductivity and the effect of the amount of additives in the sensing material on the electrical conductivity was investigated. The effect of the amount of frit glass in the termination on the sensor performance, especially mechanical integrity, was considered and the crack initiation and propagation in the boundary between the sensing material and the termination was studied.
In past, dye diffusion and dyeing rate in fibers have been emphasized in dyeing phenomena. However, in the light of the properties of colloids in the surface of disperse phase and dispersion, there exist specific characters such as adsorption or electric double layer, which seems to play important roles in determining the physiochemical properties in the dyeing system. Electrostatic bonding, hydrogen bonding and Van der Waals adsorption are common in dyeing as well as covalent bonding. Particularly, electrostatic bonding is premised on the existance of ionic radicals in fibers. The present study was aimed to clarify the electrokinetic phenomena of dyeing through the role of electric double layer by ion in amphoteric fibers with different ionic effects under different pH. Spectrophotometric analysis method was used to compare dyeing condition of surface, which can be detected by electrokinetic phenomena and the inner of fibers after deceleration of dyed fibers. Nylon and wool, the typical amphoteric fibers were dyed with monoazo acid dyes such as C.I. Acid Orange 20, and C.I. Acid Orange 10. Various combinations were prepared by combining pH, temperature and dye concentration, in order to generate streaming electric potential which were measured by microvolt meter and specific conductivity meter. The results were transformed to zeta potential by Helmholtz-Smoluchowski formular and to surface electric charge density by Suzawa formular, surface dye amount, and effective surface area of fibers. The amount of dyes of inner fibers were also measured by the Lambert-Beer’s law. The main results obtained are as follows. 1. By measuring zeta pontential, it was possible to detect the dyeing mechanism, surface charge density, surface dye amount and effective surface area concerning dye adsorption of the amphoteric fibers. 2. Zeta pontential increases in negative at low pH and high dye concentration in the process of dyeing. This implied that there existed ionic bond formation in the dyeing mechanism between acid dyes and amphoteric fibers. 3. Dibasic acid dye had little changing rate in zeta potential due to the difference in solubility of dye and in number of dissociated ions per dye molecule to bond with amino radicals of amphoteric fibers. The dye adsorption of mono basic acid dye was higher than that of dibasic acid dye. 4. The effective surface areas concerning dyeing were $6.3E+05\;cm^2/g$ in nylon, $1.6E+07\;cm^2/g$ in wool fiber being higher order of wool then nylon.
The effect of annealing under argon atmosphere on hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) thin films deposited at room temperature and $300^{\circ}C$ using Radio Frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering has been investigated. For the films deposited at room temperature, there was not any increase in hydrogen content and optical band gap of the films, and as a result, quality of the films was not improved under any annealing conditions. For the films deposited at $300^{\circ}C$, on the other hand, significant increases in hydrogen content and optical band gap were observed, whereas values of microstructure parameter and dark conductivity were decreased upon annealing below $300^{\circ}C$. In this study, it was proposed that the Si-HX bonding strength is closely related to deposition temperature. Also, the improvement in optical, electrical and structural properties of the films deposited at $300^{\circ}C$ was originated from thermally activated hydrogen bubbles, which were initially trapped at microvoids in the films.
