Approximate Maximum Likelihood Estimation for the Three-Parameter Weibull Distribution

  • We obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators (AMLEs) for the scale and location parameters $\theta$ and $\mu$ in the three-parameter Weibull distribution based on Type-II censored samples. We also compare the AMLEs with the modified maximum likelihood estimators (MMLEs) in the sense of the mean squared error (MSE) based on complete sample.

Pseudomonas putida B2가 접종된 Biofilter의 황화수소제거 효과 (Effect of Hydrogen Sulfide Removal by Biofilter Seeded with Pseudomonas putida B2)

  • 본 실험은 Pseudomonas p$mu$tida 82를 접종한 biofilter에서의 H2S 제거능올 알아 보았다. 담체로는 유기담체로 peat moss, 무기탐체로 perlite 그리고 활성탄(GAC)을 각각 부피비로 50:25:25로 혼합하여 사용하였고, P. putida B2가 접종된 실험구는 본 균주가 접종되지 않은 대조구와 비교해본 결과 30% 정도의 제거율 향상을 볼 수 있었고, 운전중 $H_2S$ 부하 변동에 대해 대조구보다 안정되고 높은 제거율을 나타낸다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 염계 부하량은 제거율 100%를 기준으로 할 때 살헝구의 경우 $14.83 g/m$3hr$인 것으로 나타났고, 대조 구의 경우 최대 $4.93 g/m$3hr$나타냐 약 3배 정도 질험구가 더 큰 부하량 처리능력을 나타내였다.- 본 질험결파로 탈취 균주로서 P. putida B2의 가능성을 타진해 본 결파 충불한 $H_2S$ 제거력을 발휘했으며, 아울러 활성탄을 점가하여 부하 변동에 대해 보다 안정적인 제거효과를 보여 현 탈취공정의 부하 변동에 대한 안정성과 순치 기간의 필요성율 극복할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

공유결합으로 고정화된 urokinase 칼럼의 스케일업과 solid-phase refolding에 의한 반복 사용 (Scale-up of Covalently Immobilized Urokinase Column and Repeated Use of It by Solid-Phase Refolding)

  • Sepharose CL-6B 의 기능기를 aldehyderl로 활성화시킨 후 urokinase와 공유결합 시켜 고정화하는 방법을 6mL 규모에서 250 mL 규모로 스케일업한 결과 고정화 수율 및 고정화 된 UK에 의한 절단반응 수율 등에서 스케일업 전후의 결과에 차이가 없었다. 따라서 위의 고정화 방법의 scale-up 효능은 매우 우수한 것으로 나타났다. hGH와 GST 절편으로 구성된 융합 단백질의 고정화 UK 컬럼에 의한 절단 반응 후 용출액의 pH를 3.5로 낮춤으로써 이물질들을 침전시키고 이를 expanded bed chromatography zf칼럼에 통과시킨 결과, 이 물질들의 제거와 hGH 단량체의 흡착분리가 동시에 이루어졌다. 흡착된 단량체는 NaCL에의해 용출되었으며 이 단계의 수율은 거의 100%이었다. 따라서 칼럼에 의한 절단 반응과 t산 침전에 의한 이물질 침전 바능, EBA에 의한 이물질 제거 및 단량체 회수 반응을 연속적으로 진행할 수 있는 기초를 제시하였다. 또한 고정화된 UK는 guanidine HCl(6 M)을 이용하여 unfolding 시키고 이를 세적하여 refolding 시킨 결과 20회의 반복적인 처리 후에도 초기 활성의 약 80% 수준을 유지하였다. 이는 UK 가 공유결합된 상태에서 solid-phase refolding이 가능하다는 증거이며, 고정화 효소 칼럼의 수명을 크게 향상시켜 경제성을 확보하는 방안으로 이용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • Current display manufacturing processes apply thermal treatment of glass backplanes widely for hydrogen degassing, crystallization of thin-films, tempering, forming, and precompaction. Estimation of the characteristics of transient heating stages and thermal non-uniformities on a single glass substrate or in a stack of glasses are extremely helpful to understand non-homogeneity of mechanical and electronic features of nano/micro structures of end products. Based on simple heat transfer models and using an electric muffle furnace, temperature variations in a glass stack were predicted and measured for glass backplanes of $1.5{\times}1.85m^2$ in size and 0.7 mm in thickness. Except for the period of putting glass backplanes into the furnace, thermal radiation was the major heating mechanism for the treatment and theoretical predictions agreed well to the experimental temperatures on the backplanes. Using the theoretical model, thermal fields for a glass stack of glass-size, $2.2{\times}2.5m^2$, and of the number of sheets, 1 to 12, were calculated for practical design and manufacturing of the muffle furnace for large-scale displays, e.g. up to $8^{th}$ generation.

  • The influence of the slip flow on the MEMS/MST based gas-lubricated proceeding bearing is investigated. Based on the modified Reynolds equation, the numerical analysis of the finite difference method was developed by applying the first order slip flow approximation. The numerical prediction of bearing performance provides the significant results concerning the slip flow effect in micro scale gas-lubricated proceeding bearing. The result indicates that the load-carrying capacity as well as the rotordynamic coefficients were significantly reduced due to the slip flow. Through this work, it is concluded that the slip flow effect could not be ignored in the micro gas-lubricated proceeding bearing.

  • The hot embossing process has been mentioned as one of major nanoreplication techniques. This is due to its simple process, low cost, high replication fidelity and relatively high throughput. As the initial step of quantitating the embossing process, simple parametric study about embossing time have been carried out using high-resolution masters which patterned by the DRIE process and laser machining. Under the various embossing time, the viscous flow of thin PMMA films into microcavities during Compression force has been investigated. Also, a study about simulating the viscous flow during embossing process has planned and continuum scale FDM analysis was applied on this simulation. With currently available test data and condition, simple FDM analysis using FLOW3D was made attempt to match simulation and experiment.

  • Continuing improvements in integrated circuit chip density and functionality have mostly contributed toward a very large-scale integrated circuit(VLSI) and display device. In order to test (pass or fail) all of the high integrated semiconductor chip and display device, fine pitch probes are used. Fine pitch probes are manufactured by electroforming process of a Ni alloy in an electrolytic bath. In this paper, we expect that the electric field in bath with the Finite Element Method and applying the FEM result. So, we can obtained the probes that have high aspect ratio of 10 : 1

  • It has been widely reported that carbide-free bainitic steels or super-bainite TRIP (SB-TRIP) steels for the automotive industry are a new family of steels offering a unique combination of high strength and ductility. Hence, it is important to exactly evaluate the volume fraction of RA and to identify the 3-D morphology of constituent phases, because it plays a crucial role in mechanical properties. Recently, as electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) equipped with focused ion beam (FIB) has been developed, 3-D EBSD technique for materials science are used to these steels. Moreover, newly developed atom probe tomography (APT) technique can provide the exact distribution and chemical concentration of alloying elements in a sub-nm scale. The APT analysis results indicate exactly the distribution and composition of alloying elements in the austenite and bainite phases of SB-TRIP steels with the atomic-scale resolution. And thus, no partitioning of aluminum and manganese atoms was showed between the austenite containing $7.73{\pm}0.39$ at% C and the bainitic ferrite associated with $0.22{\pm}0.06$ at% C in SB-TRIP steel.
