  • There are two ways in the output voltage control method in PWM inverter. One is the double loop voltage control composed of inner current control loop and outer voltage control loop. Because it shows fast response and low steady state error, utilized in many application. The Other is single loop voltage control method composed of voltage control loop only. It's characteristics shows lower performance in case of high output impedance than double loop voltage control. But in low output impedance, it shows good control performance in all load range than double loop control. In this paper, single loop voltage control rule and gain was developed analytically, and these were verified through computer simulation and experiment.

  • In crane control system, it is required that the travelling time of crane must be reduced as much as possible and there is no the swing of load at the end and starting points. In this paper, we present a hybrid control method which includes two control methods of the optimal regulator and the velocity pattern control in order to realize high performance of the anti-sway. To implement the control algorithm, the dynamic equation is linearlized at an equilibrium point, so that the linear time invariant state equation can be obtained. A 1/10 sized model crane of the usual gantry cranes is made and used to show the applicability of the developed hybrid control method. The effectiveness of developed hybrid control method is proved by experimental results which show us good performance for anti-sway control comparing to conventional velocity pattern control. Practically, it is expected that the proposed control system will make an important contribution to the automatic crane control system of the industrial fields.

  • Silicate used as laundry detergent builder was good for pH buffering capacity and solubility but calcium-ion binding capacity and surfactant adsorption ability were lower. As $SiO_2/Na_2O$ molar ratio became higher, pH buffering capacity and ion exchange ability were lower and surfactant adsorption ability was little higher. Anionic surfactant LAS (linear alkylbenzene sulphonate), nonionic surfactant LA-9 (lauryl alcohol EO-9) were used to investigate the detergency performance. Zeolite was better than sodium silicate in detergency performance. In case of LAS, detergency performance was good when $SiO_2/Na_2O$ molar ratio was lower. In case of LA-9, detergency performance was similar without discrimination of molar ratio of $SiO_2/Na_2O$.

  • We have studied a liquid crystal (LC) mode (named locked super homeotropic (LSH)) in which the LCs aligned homeotropically are locked by surrounding walls such as cubic, hexagonal and cylinder. In the device, the vertically aligned LCs tilt down symmetrically around the center of the cell when a voltage is applied and thus it exhibits wide viewing angle. The structure of this LSH mode is suitable for large-sized display panels. since the LCs are locked in micro domains the LCs do not flow to the bottom of the panel by gravity. This mode is applicable to achieve high performance TFT-LCD TV because of high performance characteristics such as high contrast, high brightness, wide-viewing angle.

  • In this paper, the speed control system of induction motor was proposed using vector control algorithm and space voltage vector PWM method to improve the dynamic performance of Induction motor. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by TMS320C31 digital signal processor and IGBT module. The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulations and experiments for 3.7[kw] induction motor and shows good dynamic performance.

  • In this paper, the experiment on the dynamic characteristics of LIM for the propulsion system UTM(Urban Transit Maglev) is threated. Untill now LIM has been mainly experimented by using the rotational arch type system, but this system compose of the test vehicle mounted LIM, which driven by PWM inverter. And the anlysis of the performance and the steady-state characteristics of the LIM is treated under various operation patterns. This paper may be available to compose the operating system of LIM driven by the open or closed loop control.

  • This paper is concerned with the design or an LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) -based H$\infty$ controller for a line of sight (LOS) stabilization system and with its robustness performance. The linearization of the system is necessary to analyze various nonlinear characteristics, but the linearization entails modeling uncertainties which reduce its performance. In addition, the stability of the LOS can be adversely affected by angular velocity disturbances while the vehicle is moving. As the vehicle accelerates, all the factors that are Ignored and simplified for the linearization tend to Inhibit the performance of the system. The robustness in the face of these uncertainties needs to be assured. This paper employs H$\infty$ control theory to address these problems and the LMI method to provide a suitable controller with minimal constraints for the system. Even though the system matrix does not have a full rank, the proposed method makes it possible to design a H$\infty$ controller and to deal with R and S matrices for reducing the system order. It can be also shown that the proposed robust controller has a better disturbance attenuation and tracking performance. The LMI method is also used to enhance the applicability of the proposed reduced-order H$\infty$ controller for the system given. The LMI-based H$\infty$ controller has superior disturbance attenuation and reference input tracking performance, compared with that of the conventional controller under real disturbances.

  • In the 3GPP LTE and IEEE 802.16m standardizations for IMT-Advanced, the efficient transmission of multicast and broadcast data is one of the important issues to improve system performance. Especially, to guarantee each user's QoS in the multicast group, H-ARQ or adaptive modulation are considered to be adoption, however, reduction of feedback overhead is one of the most important issues. In this paper, performance of the previously proposed OOK (On-Off Keying) based common ACK/NACK feedback channel is analyzed through theoretical analysis and simulation. Based on the results, system parameter optimization methods for common feedback channel are proposed. In addition, through computer simulation, it is shown that the common feedback method according to the proposed feedback parameter optimization can feedback ACK/NACK information for multicast H-ARQ transmission, more reliably than the conventional user dedicated feedback method in 3GPP LTE systems, and can reduce the feedback overhead as well.

  • In order to improve scavenging performance of free piston hydrogen fueled engine, this study estimate compatibility of uni-flow scavenging. The scavenging flow characteristics in the cylinder is investigated by flow visualization and PIV method. Consequently it has been found that the scavenging performance decreased with abnormal expansion of piston and delay of the exhaust valve opening timing. And the scavenging performance of exhaust valve located center in cylinder head is better than that of exhaust valve located side in cylinder head.

  • 3kW grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system and data acquisition system are constructed for performance analysis of PV system at field demonstration test center of Gwang-Ju in Korea. As climatic and irradiation conditions are varied, operation characteristics of the PV system are collected and analyzed in data acquisition system. From these results, the performances of PV system have simulated and evaluated using simulation tool in comparison with actual value of data acquisition system of field demonstration test center. Furthermore, performance of total PV system e.g. electric power and loss factor at the site are reviewed.
