서울특별시 간선도로의 조명측정과 조명평가

  • 서울시내의 간선도로의 조명은 현재는 거의 국제수준에 준할 정도로 밝게 설비되어 있으나, 약 5년전만해도, 한나라 수도의 밤거리라고 하기에는 부끄러울 정도로 어둡고 컴컴한 거리었다. 도로조명은 시력의 감퇴를 초래하는 야간에 차량운전자나 보행자가 정확, 신속하고 평이한 시작업을 하므로서, 생명의 안전, 각종 교통화재방지가 사회생활에 편의을 도웁는데 있으므로 도로조명을 실시하는 경우에는 도시미관의 조성, 재산의 보호, 도로사용상의 결적성의 향상, 범죄의 예방등의 도시계획의 관점에서 고려되어야 한다. 본 측정, 평가 및 설계에는 미국조명학회(I.E.S.)에서 발행된 I.E.S guide for out door illumination test와 American standard practice for street and high way lighting을 많이 참고하였다.

고무차륜 경량전철의 구조강도 해석 연구 (Structural analysis of Rubber Tired AGT)

  • In this study, the carbody design of the rubber tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) under development by KRRI was numerically analysed to evaluate its structural strength according to the standard specifications for Korean LRT (Light Rail Transit). The numerical results showed that the detail design of the carbody was strong enough to satisfy the specifications with respect to the axial compression strength, the vertical strength and the vertical stiffness(natural frequency). However, the carbody design had some problems on the fatigue strength by twist loadings. So, it was recommended that the carbody design should be modified to improve the twisting strength by reinforcing the front end structures.

고무차륜 경량전철의 충돌안전도 연구 (A Study on Crashworthiness of Rubber Tired AGT)

  • In the standard specifications for the urban EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) train, there are several items to ensure safety against accidents. The 21th -23th items have much relation with the crashworthiness of the urban EMU train. In this study, the rubber- tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) under development by KRRI is numerically evaluated in a crashworthy point of view by applying the above crashworthiness items. The numerical results show the detail design of the AGT satisfies the 22th and 23th items. But the design is recommended to adopt mechanical fuses to reduce the impact accelerations with respect to the 21th item.

  • The aim of this study is to determine a way to make mathematics textbooks after Korea is reunited. For this, the analysis of curriculum in SouthㆍNorth Korea must be made before unification. Therefore this study compares and analyzes the contents, organization and mathematics terms used in the latest middle school textbooks(1995-1996). And it also compared and contrasted the two textbooks while determining the best points of each. In this way, this study will be a very useful guide for making new educational curriculum and new mathematics textbooks after South and North Korea be unified.

  • Lightweight body can cause a low stiffness due to the decrease of panel thickness and reinforcing member. The other way, high stiffness body demands an increase of mass. Front pillar section area is decreased due to driver's visual field. Global vehicle stiffness is affected by stiffness distribution ratio between upper part and lower part at side body structure. This paper will describe a process used to evaluate the stiffness distribution ratio based on research of strain energy analysis of the tip rotation method. In addition, optimum design schemes are presented for high stiffness and lightweight body structure considering the investigated stiffness distribution ratio. In this way the designer will be aided by a defined design guide and a set of supporting tool to help him work towards a good design

  • This paper described design as a purposeful human activity for solving its problems. This means, problem solving is finding a way to get from some initial situation to a desired goal.In order to do this, like a voyage, there should be a compass, and a route map to guide the designer through the design process. Evaluation gives information about the way a design is proceeding and suggests the direction in which change should be made in order that the complex of design concepts should be fulfilled in a satisfactory manner.I think Pugh's total design model discussing in this paper takes a layered approach through a series of sequential actions, part of which is to find the product status. Each layer has the $$\mu$ti-dimensional elements, Product Design Specification (PDS) around the design core. I made a comparative study of several evaluation tools wi th Pugh's model and examined the criteria for evaluation and the rating / weighing methods.It needs, however, more study in order that PDSs may have its values and be fixed from the dynamic design concepts.

  • The turnout system is typical railway facility to be in the way of conventional railway line's speed-up. The KNR(Korean National Railroad) :has a speed limit regulation(130km/h) for the passing the turnout to guarantee a safety. This research had been performed to confirm the propriety of this regulation by using experimental and analytical way before it was carried out. The reasonableness of the speed-limit regulation was judged base on the several experiments. It was proved that the regulation was not useless as it had been regarded and very important guide at least up to now.

  • Outcome based education, a competence based approach at the cutting edge of curriculum development, offers a powerful and appealing way of reforming and managing medical education. The emphasis is on the product that is to say what sort of doctor will be producted rather than on the educational process. In outcome based education, the outcomes are clearly and unambiguously specified such as Tyler's curriculum design. The design of outcome based curriculum plans in the opposite direction, starting with the good doctor and working backwards. Outcome based curriculum offers many advantages as a way of achieving this. It emphasises relevance in the curriculum and accountability and can provide a clear and unambiguous framework for curriculum planning which has an intuitive appeal. It encourages the faculty and student to share responsibility for learning and it can guide the assessment.

  • A new interface for coupling CIEF and MS using a four-way cross has been developed in a single mechanical system. This new interface could be operated without the electric discontinuity and reinstallation of lines. Additionally, a bare fused silica capillary was facilitated as a spray needle to produce electrospray and to guide catholyte or sheath liquid. Focusing for CIEF was completed in a hanging droplet at the end of spray needle. This capillary spray needle also provided stable spray, enhanced the ionization efficiency and increased sensitivity. Results with carbonic anhydrase I showed that focusing and spraying were well completed with the new interface and the new spray needle.
