수열합성법으로 성장된 ZnO 나노로드 가스 센서의 제작 및 특성 연구 (Characteristics and Preparation of Gas Sensor Using ZnO Nanorods Grown by Hydrothermal Process)

  • ZnO nanorods for gas sensors were prepared by a hydrothermal method. The ZnO gas sensors were fabricated on alumina substrates by a screen printing method. The gas-sensing properties of the ZnO nanorods were investigated for $CH_4$ gas. The effects of growth time on the structural and morphological properties of the ZnO nanorods were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The XRD patterns of the nanocrystallized ZnO nanorods showed a wurtzite structure with the (002) predominant orientation. The diameter and length of the ZnO nanorods increased in proportion to the growth time. The sensitivity of the ZnO sensors to 5 ppm $CH_4$ gas was investigated for various growth times. The ZnO sensors exhibited good sensitivity and rapid response-recovery characteristics to $CH_4$ gas, and both traits were dependent on the growth time. The highest sensitivity of the ZnO sensors to $CH_4$ gas was observed with the growth time of 7 h. The response and recovery times were 13 s and 6 s, respectively.

The fate of an infalling circumgalactic gas clump and the growth of the central massive black hole in a high-redshift quasar

  • Since the discovery of SMBHs at z > 6, the growth spurt of a BH in a relatively short time—a few hundred Myr—has been a challenging topic for many observers and theorists. Super-Eddington accretion, major and minor merger have been compelling candidate machanisms to account for such growth. We introduce a passive scalar field to trace the infalling of circumgalactic gas clump onto high-z quasar. With the scalar field, we investigate e.g. where the most of the gas clump eventually reside in the host galaxy and how much gas is accreted onto the central massive black hole. In addition, we have studied the impact of thermal feedback of stars on the growth of black hole and the infalling gas. We will also discuss the future application of passive scalar field in e.g. minor and major mergers of high-z quasar.

  • Growth characteristics of micro carbon structures fabricated by laser-assisted chemical vapor deposition are studied. Argon ion laser and ethylene were used as the energy source and reaction gas, respectively, to grow micro carbon rod through pyrolytic decomposition of the reaction gas. Experiments were performed at various conditions to investigate the influence of process parameters on growth characteristics such as the diameter or growth rate of the micro carbon rod with respect to reaction gas pressure and incident laser power. Reaction gas pressure in experiments ranges from 200 to 600Torr and the incident laser power from 0.3 to 3.8W. For these conditions, the diameter of the rod increases linearly with respect to the laser power but is almost independent of the reaction gas pressure. Growth rate of the rod changes little with gas pressure when the laser power remains below IW. For a constant reaction gas pressure, the growth rate increase with Increasing laser power, but the rate of increase decreases gradually, implying that the chemical vapor deposition condition changes from a kinetically-limited regime to a mass-transport-limited regime. When the carbon rod was grown at near threshold laser power, a very smooth surface is obtained on the rod. By continuously moving the focusing lens in the direction of growth, a micro carbon rod with a diameter of 287${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and aspect ratio of 100 was fabricated..

Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior for Welded Joint of X80 Pipeline Steel

  • The fatigue crack growth behavior of high strength X80 pipeline steel was investigated with compact tension specimens that crack growth directions were aligned either parallel or normal to the rolling direction of the pipeline. Also, the fatigue crack growth rates for welded joint of X80 pipeline steel were investigated with compact tension specimens that crack growth directions were aligned either parallel or normal to the welding line. The experimental results indicated the fatigue crack growth behavior was markedly different in three zones, weld metal, heat affected zone and base metal of welded joints. There was a trend toward increment in the fatigue life of weld metal and heat affected zone as compared with the X80 pipeline steel.

  • 가스산업의 비약적인 발전과 고객만족경영의 중요성에도 불구하고, 도시가스 산업은 그동안 독점적 시장환경 하에서 공급자 중심의 경영이 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 서비스 산업의 발달과 경쟁의 가속화로 고객의 요구수준이 다양해지고 높아졌으며, 정부의 가스산업 구조개편 추진 등 경쟁체제 방향과 타 에너지간 경쟁체제 돌입이 예상되는 상황에서 고객만족경영은 기업의 단 중장기적인 성장기반을 구축하는 최고의 경영방식이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 대내 외 환경변화와 고객요구품질로부터 제도적 개선측면, 기술적 개선측면 및 서비스 개선측면 3개 분야의 고객만족경영 개선방향을 도출하였으며, 고객만족경영 현황파악 및 비교분석 결과를 바탕으로 도시가스 소비자의 권익보호와 도시가스사업자간, 그리고 다원화되는 에너지 사업자간 경쟁환경에서 도시가스산업의 지속가능한 성장방안을 5가지 측면에서 제시하였다.

  • Invisible charged clusters are suggested to form in the gas phase and to become the growth unit in the thin film process. Similar suggestion had been made by Glasner el al. in the crystal growth of KBr and KCL in the solution where the lead ions were added. The charged cluster model, which was suggested in the diamond CVD process by our group, will be extended to the other thin film processes. It will be shown based on both the theoretical analysis and the experimental evidences that the charged clusters are formed in the gas phase and become the growth unit of the crystal in the thin film process.

  • DC-Motor is needed more and more sophisticated control to follow the highest precision of industrial automation and used in a number of control equipment or industrial fields. It is also useful to control single crystal($A1_2O_3$) growth. It is possible to procure a quality crystal utilizing a DC-Motor, if you mix Hydrogen and Oxygen gas properly and keep proper temperature in accordance with time process. In this paper, we will study about electrical valve positioning system for the gas mixture to improve the quality of single crystal($A1_2O_3$) growth and we will design about realtime monitoring systems of the automatic gas control DC- Motor for single crystal($A1_2O_3$) growth.

  • Mechanical properties of the gas nitrocarburized product depend on the surface compound layer and the diffusion zone formed. The compound layer improves the wear resistance, and the corrosion resistance. Though phase composition, pore layer and growth rate of the compound layer varies according to the treatment time, temperature and the kind of the steel substrate, they are strongly influenced by the environmental gas composition. In the current study, the growth behavior of the compound layer and diffusion zone of the carbon steel and the alloy steel upon nitrocarburizing treatment at $570^{\circ}C$, and the phase composition and the variation in the growth rate of the compound layer according to the variation of the gas environment which was the medium of the nitriding and carburizing reaction were investigated.

  • For the purpose of investigating the growth characteristics and composition of nitrides, gas nitridings of the austenitic stainless steel, STR 36 heat resisting steel and martensitic stainless steel are investigated at the temperature ranges between $500^{\circ}C$ and $675^{\circ}C$ for 5hours under the $75%NH_3+5%CO_2+20%$Air gas atmosphere. When gas nitriding the austentic stainless steel and STR 36 heat resisting alloy, the abnormal growth behavior of compound layer deviating from the conventional diffusion law with increasing temperature appears, while the compound layer of martensitic stainless steel shows the normal diffusional growth behavior. From the examination of microstructure, X-ray diffraction and hardness test, it is concluded that the abnormal growth behavior of compound layer with increasing temperature induces from the formation and dissolution of CrN and ${\gamma}^{\prime}-Fe_4N$ at the nitriding temperature ranges of $600{\sim}650^{\circ}C$.

  • Numerical calculation has been performed to investigate the effect of inlet configuration on the growth rate of GaN layer on the heated susceptor. The conventional single inlet, where the gas is mixed by force in the inlet, is compared with separated flow inlet. Two-parallel gas flow $H_{2}$ and $NH_{3}$ are separated by a plate with finite length which are also parallel to the susceptor. The effect of separated plate length, carrier gas and flow rate of each precursor on the mixing of reactant gases and growth rate were investigated. Furthermore the three dimensional model is employed to predict the transverse variation of growth rate.
