In this paper, we address two position control scheme; the lead-lag control and the sliding mode control for a stage system, which is levitated and driven by electric magnetic actuators. This consists of a levitating object (called platen) with 4 permanent magnetic linear synchronous motors in parallel. Each motor generates vertical force for suspension against gravity and propulsion force horizontally as well. This stage can generate six degrees of freedom motion by the vertical and horizontal forces. Dynamic equations of the stage system are derived simply. The sliding mode control algorithm is more effective than the lead-lag control algorithm to reduce effects from movements and disturbances of other axis.
Background: The aim of this study was to examine the precise spreading pattern of contrast media in small increments in rabbits. Following pentobarbital anesthesia, the epidural puncture was done surgically with a blunt hook. Methods: The tip of epidural catheter was located at the mid-portion of T7 and T12, in the T7 group (n=7) and T12 group (n=8), respectively. Injection of the contrast media was started at 0.1 mL/kg and increased by 0.1 mL/kg up to a maximum of 0.6, mL/kg, under fluoroscopy. Results: In both groups, the extent of spread increased continuously as a Starling resistor with increasing injected volume(T7 group: $y=4.0+41.8x-28.1x^2$, T12 group: $y=0.2+57.7x-43.5x^2$) the total spread of contrast media was similar. The contrast media spread equally, both rostral and caudal, from catheter tip in T7 group; media spread approximately twice as far rostral as compared to caudal in T12 group (P<0.05). Conclusions: In rabbits, the position of epidural catheter tip should be positioned 2~3 segments below the aimed segment in lower thoracic or lumbar region, whereas in mid-thoracic region it should be positioned close to the level of aimed segment. Rabbits have relatively small epidural space therefore, the volume of injectant should be carefully determined with the suggested equations of this study.
Purpose: This study examined the effects of an educational program for fathers on improving father-infant interactions, child-rearing knowledge, and attachment. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, the participants were recruited by convenience sampling among fathers with infants (2-6 months of age) residing in three districts of Seoul. Fifteen participants in the experimental group and 17 participants in the control group completed the follow-up investigation. A 5-week online and offline intervention program with five sessions was provided to the experimental group. The data were analyzed using generalized estimating equations (GEEs). Results: There was a significant difference in the change in father-infant interaction scores of the experimental group, especially in the caregiver aspect with a significance level of .100 in time and group-to-group interactions (B=6.46, p=.051, 95% confidence interval [CI]=-0.02-12.94). The changes between the groups and times were not statistically significant when it came to infant development knowledge and father-infant attachment. Conclusion: We conclude that hybrid online and offline education should be implemented as an effective method to improve fathers' interactions with their children based on accurate knowledge about infant development.
We theoretically derive the set of general paraxial zoom locus equations for all zoom lens systems with finite object distance, including the infinite object distance case, by using the Gaussian bracket method and matrix representation of paraxial ray tracing. We make the zoom locus program by means of a numerical calculation method according to these equations in Visual Basic Language. Consequently, the solutions of this method can be consistently and flexibly used in all types of zoom lens in the step of initial design about zoom loci. Finally, in order to verify the justification and usefulness of this method, we show that two examples, such as $M_{4a}$ and $M_{4h}$ types of 4 groups, and one example, $M_{5n}$ type of 5 groups, which are very complicated zoom lens systems, can be rapidly and diversely traced through various interpolations by using this program.
A dynamic model has been developed to simulate dynamic operation of a real double-effect absorption chiller. Dynamic behavior of working fluids in main components was modeled in first-order nonlinear differential equations based on heat and mass balances. Mass transport mechanisms among the main components were modeled by valve throttling, 'U' tube overflow and solution sub-cooling. The nonlinear dynamic equations coupled with the subroutines to calculate thermodynamic properties of working fluids were solved by a numerical method. The dynamic performance of the model was compared with the test data of a commercial medium chiller. The model showed a good agreement with the test data except for the first 5,000 seconds during which different flow rates of the weak solution caused some discrepancy. It was found that the chiller dynamics is governed by the inlet temperatures of the cooling water and the chilled water when the heat input to the chiller is relatively constant.

In order to evaluate the dielectric recovery strength for GCBs, two equations have been usually utilized. One is the empirical formula obtained from a series of tests and the other is the theoretical formula obtained from the streamer theory. In this paper, both methods were applied to predict the small capacitive current interruption capability of model circuit breakers and were investigated in terms of the reliability by comparing the simulation results with test ones.
An iterative procedure for the calculation of the thick axisymmetric boundary layer and wake near the stern of a body of revolution is presented. Procedure consists of the potential flow calculation by a method of the integral equation of first kind and the calculation of boundary layer and wake by a differential me¬thod of the boundary layer theory. Additionally, higher order terms are included in the conventional momentum equations and continuity equation for the consider¬ation of the characteristics of axisymmetric flow different from the one of two dimentional flow and the thick boundary layer. These solutions are matched at the edge of boundary layer and wake. The results obtained by the present me¬thod are compared with the experimental data and it is found that the nominal wake distribution at the propeller plane of a axisymmetric body is in good agree¬ment with the experiment.
Let $\kappa$ be a real abelian field of conductor f and $\kappa$(sub)$\infty$ = ∪(sub)n$\geq$0$\kappa$(sub)n be its Z(sub)p-extension for an odd prime p such that płf$\phi$(f). he aim of this paper is ot compute the cohomology groups of circular units. For m>n$\geq$0, let G(sub)m,n be the Galois group Gal($\kappa$(sub)m/$\kappa$(sub)n) and C(sub)m be the group of circular units of $\kappa$(sub)m. Let l be the number of prime ideals of $\kappa$ above p. Then, for mm>n$\geq$0, we have (1) C(sub)m(sup)G(sub)m,n = C(sub)n, (2) H(sup)i(G(sub)m,n, C(sub)m) = (Z/p(sup)m-n Z)(sup)l-1 if i is even, (3) H(sup)i(G(sub)m,n, C(sub)m) = (Z/P(sup)m-n Z)(sup l) if i is odd (※Equations, See Full-text).

Studies are being done to replace conventional refrigerants with alternatives that have low or no ozone depletion and greenhouse warming Potentials, yet possess appropriate pro perties for a refrigeration cycle. To achieve this goal, a consistent set of thermodynamic properties of the working fluid is required. A common problem with the possible alternative refrigerants is that sufficient experimental data do not exist, thus making it difficult to develp complete equations of state that can predict properties in all regions including the vapor-liquid equilibrium. One solution is the use of the generalized equation of state correlations that can predict thermodynamic properties with a minimum number of characteristic parameters. Characteristic parameters required for the generalized equation of state are, in general, critical temperature, critical pressure, critical volume and normal boiling temperature. In this study, estimation of these characteristic parameters of refrigerants by group contribution method is developed.
