  • Participants in this study on links between toddlers' compliance and variables were 97 toddlers and their mothers. Instruments were the Toddler Behavior Assessment Questionnaire (Goldsmith, 1988) and the Child Rearing Practice Report-Q Sort (Block, 1981). Toddlers' compliance was observed on clean-up and behavior-delay tasks. Data analysis was by logistic and regression analyses. Results on the clean-up task indicated lower compliance by difficult children and higher compliance by girls. On the behavior-delay task, boys with less difficult temperament showed higher compliance by mother's higher punishment attitudes, whereas highly difficult boys were more compliant by mother's lower punishment attitudes. Girls' compliance was higher than boys in the low inhibition group whereas boys' compliance was higher than girls in the high inhibition group.

  • This review is concerned with the MP (multipactor) phenomena of the diplexer for RFDU DM of next generation satellite. The MP discharge is serious problems to design RF components in space applications such ase damage of physical structure, performance degradation, and mission failure of the satellite. In this work, we employed the 3D finite element method (FEM) to calculate the critical gap points and adopted ESTEC curve, MP susceptibility zone, to analyze the maximum handling RF power in the diplexer. And this work also recommends that one should design the tx filter of the diplexer which is more wider bandwidth upto the points to escape the ears of the group delay especially the cavity type of RF components in space applications.

  • One of the major sources of error in precise GPS positioning since the turn-off the Selective Availability(SA) is the ionospheric propagation delay. For the last decades, a lot of the ionospheric researches based on a GPS network have been implemented throughout the world. Especially researches of the ionospheric modeling for Wide Area Argumentation System(WAAS) have been undertaken and published. In mid-latitude regions, typical spatial and temporal variations in ionospheric models delay tend to minimal. The developed ionospheric model calls for a 1.25 degree grid at latitudes and a 2.5 degree grid at longitudes. The precise grid TEC estimated by the inversion technique is also compared with global ionosphere maps(GIMs) which have been provided by several analysis centers(ACs). The results of initial investigations into the suitability of the proposed ionospheric modeling scheme in north-east Asia are presented.

  • The estimation of tropospheric zenith delay over the Seoul-Jecheon area using GPS is presented. Over the past ten years, the world-wide industrial nations have been intensively concerned over increasing GPS surveyings in the various fields of earth science. To preserve precise positioning under various weather conditions, relationships between tropospheric zenith delay and GPS accuracy are analyzed. GPS accuracies are compared with tropospheric zenith delay produced by Bernese 4.0 software. Errors of tropospheric delay are 20cm in mean and reduced up to 5cm when tropospheric correction models are used. Correlation between error of GPS and tropospheric zenith delay plays a positive role to monitor the migration of weather front in the established Korean GPS network.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the microtensile bond strength in Class I cavities associated with different light curing modes of same light energy density. Occlusal enamel was removed to expose a flat dentin surface and twenty box-shaped Class I cavities were prepared in dentin. Single Bond (3M Dental product) was applied and Z 250 was inserted using bulk technique. The composite was light-cured using one of four techniques, pulse delay (PD group), soft-start (SS group), pulse cure (PC group) and standard continuous cure (CC group). The light-curing unit capable of adjusting time and intensity (VIP, Bisco Dental product) was selected and the light energy density for all curing modes was fixed at $16J/cm^2$. After storage for 24 hours, specimens were sectioned into beams with a rectangular cross-sectional area of approximately $1mm^2$ Microtensile bond strength $({\mu}TBS)$ test was per- formed using a univel·sal testing machine (EZ Test, Shimadzu Co.). The results were analyzed using oneway ANOVA and Tukey's test at significance level 0.05. The ${\mu}TBS$ of PD group and SS group was higher than that of PC group and CC group. Within the limitations of this in vitro study, modification of curing modes such as pulse delay and soft start polymerization can improve resin/dentin bond strength in Class I cavities by controlling polymerization velocity of composite resin.

  • The purposes of this study were to : a)determine the percentage of labor activities expen-ded in various work functionsof hospital foodservice b)estimate the labor time utilized in each work functions c)investigate the overall work patterns of hospital foodservice and d)provide the basic data for effective labor control This study was conducted in two hospitals with 1300 and 1200 ed capacities and every employees of the dietary department were included in 10days work measurement. Work sampling methodology developed by Donaldson and Ostenso was modified and used for observing overall activities of hospital dietary department. Consistency of data and observa-tion period were verified by 3$\delta$ control chart and control chart. Observed data were satisfied with confidence level of 95% and confidence interval of $\pm$0.05, The results of this study were as follows: 1) The direct work function indirect work function and delay were 74.8%, 9.2%, 16.0% respectively with A hospital and 82.2% 7.2%, 10.6% respectively with B hospital 2) The productivity indices of direct work indirect work and delay were 9.05 min/meal 1.12 min/meal 1.94 min/meal respectively and total 12.11 minutes were utilized per meal served in A hospital and 10.72 min/meal 0.94 min/meal 1.38 min/meal respectively and total 13.04 minutes were utilized per meal served in B hospital 3) Full time equivalent(FTE) utilized in daily work of irect work indirect work and delay were 62.24 men 7.69 men 13.35 men respectively in A hospital and 64.09 men 5.63 men 8.22 men respectively in B hospital. 4) The contents of work activities of each employee group showed that delay time of the service personnel group was more than any other employee groups in both A hospital and B hospital 5) Examination of daily work schedule by time intervals showed that transportation work function was carried out all day so it is necessary to improve this work.

  • Background and Objectives: Biomedical signals have been usually used for the diagnosis of the laryngeal function such as speech, electroglottograph(EGG), airflow and other signals. But, in most cases these signals were analysed separately. Here, we propose a new interchannel parameter Glottal Closure Delay Ratio(GCDR) which is estimated from speech and EGG measured simultaneously. Materials and Method: Speech and EGG signal were recorded simultaneously from 13 normal subjects, 39 patients. The patients' data included 16 polyps and 23 vocal folds palsy. Time difference between glottal closing instance on EGG and the first maximum peak on speech in a pitch period was calculated. Glottal closing instance was defined as the maximum peak on the first derivative of EGG signal(dEGG). Results: The standard deviation and jitter were calculated using 20-30 GCDRs extracted from each data, and they are significant different between normal and vocal fold paralysis group. Conclusion: The GCDR may be the first index reflecting speech and EGG characteristics and the perturbation of this parameter was significant different between normal and vocal fold paralysis group.

  • To reduce the signaling tost of paging in mobile communication, sequential paging schemes are proposed by partitioning a location area into several paging areas such that each area is paged sequentially. Necessary conditions for the optimal partition of cells with delay bound are examined by considering the mobiles location probability at each cell. The Optimal Cell Partitioning (OCP) is proposed based on the necessary conditions and the fathoming rule which trims off the unnecessary solution space and expedite the search process. Two Heuristics, BSG and BNC are also presented to further increase the computational efficiency in real-world paging scheme for the next generation mobile systems. The effectiveness of the 1)reposed paging schemes is illustrated with computational results. The Heuristic BSG that performs the search in the most promising solution group outperforms the best existing procedure with the 6-69% gain in paging cost in problems with 100 cells.
