Employer Branding, Scale Development and Validation: From the Context of Vietnam

  • The concept of 'Employer branding' (EB) - one effective and sustainable strategy to attract and retain talent - has received a lot of attention from researchers and business managers. This concept becomes more meaningful when the 'war of talent' takes place in an extremely fierce manner in Vietnam as well as around the world. However, this concept is rather new; as a result, many points related to 'EB' scales should be improved, especially in Vietnamese context. Therefore, this study focuses on developing and confirming the EB scale in the context of Vietnam. Based on EB theory, this research applies the mixed research method: qualitative methods (expert interview and group discussion) and quantitative method (questionnaire survey of 937 respondents). EB is demonstrated to be a quadratic concept, consisting of the following 10 dimensions: Corporate social responsibility (CSR), Promotion (PRO), Work-Life Balance Satisfaction (WLSA), Education (EDU), Behavior-based Family interference with work (WLBE), Travel opportunities (TRA), Time-based work interference with family (WLTI), Teamwork (GRO), Supporting (SUP), and Strain-based family interference with work (WLST) with 58 observed variables. Based on the survey towards the employees in enterprises and organizations in Vietnam, the analysis results affirm that this scale ensures efficiency, reliability, unidirectionality and convergent values.

영화를 활용한 내용 중심 수업이 실용적 영어표현 습득에 미치는 영향 (An effect of Content-centered Class Using Movies in Learning Practical Expressions)

  • This study focuses on the flow of story and content or related context when using movies as learning materials in a class. A great advantage of using movies is that they have a consistent story and detailed content development. Most teachers, however, tend to concentrate on practical expressions totally unrelated to the story or context of the movie they are using. This way might be efficient in the short run but it is certain that the expressions are unlikely to be retained in long-term memory. This study examines how a story-centered class influences learning of practical expressions and how efficient this approach to learning is. Learning and teaching with focus only on the expressions in a movie shades the meaning of the use of the movie a little. In this study the movie, Cars 2, was used in a course of general education with 150 students enrolled. Various group activities were suggested to immerse students into the story and contents of Cars 2. It was found that a story-centered class is helpful for students to acquire practical expressions and that students' satisfaction level with the class was high.

구두 형식의 전자적 브레인 스토밍이 인지적 자극에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구 (Empirical Validation for Verbal- EBS Effect to Cognitive Stimulation)

  • Given the industry's unprecedented attention and dedication of resources to voice recognition, this paper introduces and explores a novel idea generation technique whereby ideas are captured directly through verbalization rather than forcing group members to type ideas. A group simulator was used to measure the idea generation performance of individuals who input ideas verbally or via typing in the context of nominal and interacting groups. The results clearly indicate that verbal input represents a more desirable mechanism in a computer-mediated idea generation environment. Liberating group members from the keyboard produces remarkable performance gains. Verbalizing ideas helps individuals focus on analytical thinking and leverage group member ideas, ultimately facilitating the creation of ideas pools that are vastly superior in terms of quantity and quality. These effects were found across nominal and interacting groups. The implications of these results for future research and the design of technologies are discussed.

ON HOPF ALGEBRAS IN ENTROPIC JÓNSSON-TARSKI VARIETIES

  • Comonoid, bi-algebra, and Hopf algebra structures are studied within the universal-algebraic context of entropic varieties. Attention focuses on the behavior of setlike and primitive elements. It is shown that entropic $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski varieties provide a natural universal-algebraic setting for primitive elements and group quantum couples (generalizations of the group quantum double). Here, the set of primitive elements of a Hopf algebra forms a Lie algebra, and the tensor algebra on any algebra is a bi-algebra. If the tensor algebra is a Hopf algebra, then the underlying $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski monoid of the generating algebra is cancellative. The problem of determining when the $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski monoid forms a group is open.

중.고등학생의 집단따돌림 극복 과정 (Conquering Process of the Group-bullies among Teenagers)

  • Purpose: This study was to develop a substantive theory on the conquering experience of group-bullies among teenagers, and thereafter suggest a model for solving the problems. Method: Data collection and analysis was proceeded by a method of Grounded Theory. Data was collected by interviewing the participants. Five teenagers participated in this study who had already overcome the situation. Result: In the analysis 31 concepts, 6 categories, and 14 subcategories are extracted from the raw data, and all are constituted on the paradigm model. The causal condition is a painstaking of participants. The context is affirmative reconsidering and the phenomenon is conquering difficulties. The intervening condition is a positive intervention of a supporting system and the strategy for action/interaction is building a relationship. The consequences of this analysis is harmonizing. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest adequate ways of conquering group-bullies. These are positive attitudes towards solving problems and the full use of support systems surrounding them.

소집단의 논변활동을 위한 과학 탐구 과제의 개발과 적용 (Development and Application of the Scientific Inquiry Tasks for Small Group Argumentation)

  • 본 연구에서는 과학 수업에서 학생들이 과학 현상을 근거 있게 설명하고 주장할 수 있도록 인지적 발판이 포함된 과제를 개발하였고, 과제가 소집단 논변 발달에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 이를 위해 한 학급에서 이질적인 소집단을 구성한 후, 개발된 과제를 수업중에 활용하였다. 소집단 논변활동에서 학생들은 먼저 각자의 의견을 적고, 서로의 의견을 공유한 후 가장 그럴듯한 의견을 선택하였다. 학생들의 사전 사후 논변 검사지와 논의가 활발하게 일어난 한 소집단의 담화 전사본, 학생들의 반 구조화된 인터뷰, 수업관찰 노트를 통해 과제가 소집단 논변에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 개발된 과제는 모순된 논변 예시를 포함하여 학생들이 증거를 가지고 반박할 수 있도록 하였으며, 친구의 생각과 비교하고 설득하는 활동을 통해 소집단 논변이 활발히 이루어지도록 하였다. 그 결과 학생들의 논변 검사 점수가 향상되었으며, 증거와 추론이 포함된 주장을 하였다. 또한 과제를 진행함에 따라 학생들의 논변은 높은 향상 발화의 빈도와 긴 추론 고리의 특성을 보이면서 그 수준이 높아졌다. 학생들은 과제를 수행하면서 제시된 예시 의견에 대해 반성적, 비판적으로 사고하여 타당한 증거와 추론이 포함된 정교한 주장을 하였으며, 자료를 바탕으로 다양한 근거를 제시할 수 있는 과제는 학생들로 하여금 자발적으로 의견을 제시하도록 하여 다양한 참여로 이끌었다. 본 연구는 발달된 소집단 논변 활동의 맥락에 대한 이해와 일반 중학교 과학 탐구수업에서 학생들의 논변 활동을 조력하는 교수 학습 상황에 대한 정보를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

초등학생 학교부적응 증상의 일상생활 경험적 특성 (Daily Manifestations of School Maladjustment Among Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the differences in time use patterns and psychological states across daily activity contexts and interpersonal contexts, depending on the levels of school maladjustment among elementary school students. Using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM), 107 elementary school 6th grade students' daily time use patterns and psychological states across daily contexts were measured six times a day over a period of 4 days. Using the school maladjustment scale, an internal problem based school maladjusted group and an external problem based school maladjusted group were identified and selected. The daily time use patterns and psychological states of both school maladjusted groups were compared to those of the adjusted groups. The principle findings are as follows: first, the school maladjusted group students' daily time use patterns across daily activity contexts or interpersonal contexts did not differ from those of the students from the school adjusted group. Second, the school maladjusted group students experienced more negative emotions, lower concentration levels, and lower motivation levels across daily contexts than the school adjusted group students. These differences in motivation between the external problem school maladjusted group and adjusted group, however, were greater in the schoolwork context compared to the other daily activity contexts. The findings were discussed in the contexts of the daily experiences of child school maladjustment.

THE POWER OF PROGRAMMED GRAMMARS WITH GRAPHS FROM VARIOUS CLASSES

  • Programmed grammars, one of the most important and well investigated classes of grammars with context-free rules and a mechanism controlling the application of the rules, can be described by graphs. We investigate whether or not the restriction to special classes of graphs restricts the generative power of programmed grammars with erasing rules and without appearance checking, too. We obtain that Eulerian, Hamiltonian, planar and bipartite graphs and regular graphs of degree at least three are pr-universal in that sense that any language which can be generated by programmed grammars (with erasing rules and without appearance checking) can be obtained by programmed grammars where the underlying graph belongs to the given special class of graphs, whereas complete graphs, regular graphs of degree 2 and backbone graphs lead to proper subfamilies of the family of programmed languages.

영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니를 위한 양육지지 집단 프로그램 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of the Parenting Support Group Program for Mothers with Infants)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes in parenting competency, parenting environment, and parenting stress by developing and applying parenting support group program based on the social support intervention model for mothers with infants. Methods: In this experimental study, mothers with infants of 8~12 weeks old were recruited. 23 mothers were selected for analysis (11 in the experimental group and 12 in the control group). The parenting support group program was provided to the experimental group for seven sessions with 120 minutes per session. Results: The experimental group showed that the parenting competency and parenting environment were significantly increased and the parenting stress was significantly decreased immediately after intervention. In the case of parenting environment, it was found to have a lasting effect until the point of further investigation. Conclusion: The results indicate that the program as a social support intervention strategy for mothers rearing up infants is effective intervention in a universal context in the community.

웹 사용 경험의 정황 요소 매핑에 관한 연구 : 실증적 사례 분석을 중심으로 (Mapping Experiential Context factors on the Website Use Experience : through analysis of practical use cases)

  • 사용자 중심 디자인 노력의 일환으로 과거의 사용성(Usabilily)보다 확장된 개념인 사용자 경험(User Experience)을 탐색하고 이를 바탕으로 웹 컨텐츠 플래닝에 활용하기 위한 관심이 확대되고 있다. 특히, 한 웹 사이트에서의 사용자 경험은 이를 둘러싸고 있는 경험적 정황과의 관련성 속에서 이해되고 분석되어야 한다. 그러나, 웹사이트 경험의 정황적 요소에 대해 체계 정립이 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 웹 사이트 사용에 관련된 정황적 요소를 추출하고 이를 경험의 수준으로 분류하여 매핑함으로써 새로운 웹 컨텐츠 개발을 위한 방법론적 틀을 제시하고자 하였다. 실증적 연구의 대상을 인터넷 음악 방송 사이트 또는 음악 관련 컨텐츠를 이용하는 경험과 이를 둘러싼 경험적 정황으로 정하였으며, 경험적 정황에 대한 이해가 인터넷 음악 방송 사이트와 관련된 컨텐츠 플래닝에 어떻게 영향을 줄 수 있는지 논하였다. 연구 내용은 크게 세가지 부분으로 구성된다. 먼저, 웹 사용의 경험과 경험에 영향을 주는 정황에 대해 문헌 연구를 통해 정의 내리고 체계화하고자 시도하였다. 둘째, 사용자 경험 탐색을 위한 다양한 방법들 - 웹 다이어리 작성, self-video를 통한 사용 화면 기록, 인터뷰 등을 통해 실증적인 사용자 경험 데이터를 수집, 분석하여 정황을 포함한 사용 경험 및 시나리오를 도출하였으며, 이를 통하여 경험적 정황의 요소를 추출하고 매핑하는 과정을 제시하였다. 마지막으로는, 결론에서는 경험적 정황을 포함하는 실증적 사용 시나리오가 웹 컨텐츠 플래닝에 기여할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논하였다. 본 연구는 웹에서의 사용자 경험에 대한 관점을 정황적 요소로까지 확장하고 이를 체계적으로 매핑하는 실증적인 사례를 제시함으로써 웹에서의 혁신적이며 크로스 사이트, 크로스 장르적인 컨텐츠 플래닝의 가능성을 시사하는데 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
