Architecture of knowledge-Base and Management System for Grining Operations (연삭가공용 데이타베이스 설게와 활용(기존지식베이스에 관하여))

  • Grinding is considered as a very effective machining technology to attain high production rates and a good surface quality of hard and brittle components. However, the grinding operations till needs the skill and the experience of an operator because of a lack of scientific knowledge and engineering principles. This is the reason why grinding operations are not completley intergrated in CIMS(Computer Intergrated Manufacturing System. Recent develop- ment focus on expert system which deals with domain specific knowledge in order to solve this problem. Firstly, in this study, a basic strategy to develop the grinding knowledge-base for grinding is discussed. Next, the architecture of knowledge-base and management of the grinding knowledge-base(GKB) is described.

  • Recectly, development of expert system utilizing the domain specific knowledge focuses upon the machining operations. This paper describes an expert system for selecting the optimum grinding wheel based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Logic. Knowledge-base, in this system, for selecting of grinding wheel is designed to appling the knowhow and experience knowledge of skilled hands. In this paper, firstly determination method of fuzzy membership function utilizing the qualitative knowledge, and then selection of the optimum wheel from among the available components according to Saaty's priority rule are described. Lastly,some implementation results are suggested.

  • Grinding is used for machining high precision parts with high additional value. However, the grinding operation needs high skill and long experience of an operator because of a lack of the scientific knowledge and engineering principles. Also, the wheel and grinding conditions affect grinding results. For these reasons, it is difficult to construct computer integrated manufacturing system(CIMA). Therefore, it is necessary for Expert System to be informed of qualitative knowledge of grinding expert's skills and experiences. In this research, the Grinding Expert System is constructed by Fuzzy Decision Making Algorithm. Using this system, unskilled workers will be able to use the knowledge and experience of an expert.

  • Cognition and control of grinding trouble occurring during the grinding process are classified into a quantitative knowledge which depends on experimental data and qualitative knowledge which relies on skilful engineers. Grinding operations include a large number of functional parameters, since there are several ways of coping with grinding trouble. One is the qualitative method which depends on empirical knowledge utilizing the skilful experts from the workship, the other is the quantitative method which utilizes the experimental data obtained by a sensor. But, they are all difficult to accomplish from the grinding trouble-shooting system. The reason is that grinding troubles are now easily controlled in the quantitative method, and therefore, trouble-shooting has mainly relied on the knowledge of skilful engineers. Thus, there is an important issue of how a grinding trouble-shooting system can be designed and what knowledge is utilized among the large amount of grinding trouble information. In this paper, basic strategy to develop the grinding database of rule-based model, which is strongly depended upon experience and intuition , is described.

  • Grinding has difficulty in satisfying the qualitative knowledge based on the skilled expert as well as quantitative data for all user. Design of grinding database is based on the frame-based model for utilizing the empirical and qualitative knowledge. Inthis paper, basic strategy to develop the grinding database by frame-based model, which is strongly dependent upon experience and intuition, frame-base model, which is strongly dependent upon experience and intuition, is described. Design of grinding database is based on the frame-based model for utilizing the ambiguous knowledge and inference is accomplised by the object-oriented paradigm system.

  • 연소 가공은 고품질 고정도를 필요로 하는 경우 매우 유효한 가공방법이지만 그 공정이 많은 Parameter에 의해 구성되기 때문에 동일한 조건에서도 정량적인 평가가 어려우므로 작업현장 에서는 과학적 원리와 공학적 지식 보다는 숙련자의 경험과 기능에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 국면에 대처한 문제 해결을 위해 Computer가 인간사고에 근접 할 수 있도록 Fuzzy 이론과 Default 이론을 도입하고 전문가의 이론적 지식과 숙련자의 감각적 지식을 적극 수용 하여 연소용 Expert system (최적 가공 조건의 설정 System과 Trouble shooting system)을 개발하였다. 또한 연소 가공 Data의 불확실한 애매성을 효과적으로 이용 할 수 있도록 Fuzzy 가능성이론에 의해 가공 Datad을 회귀 분석하여 실가공 Data base에 축적시켜 재활용토록 설계하었으며 개발된 본 System 의 실행 결과 그 활용성이 높음을 입증하였다.

  • This paper describes an expert system on the cylindrical grinding operations in order to establish the optimum grinding conditions, which satisfy the maximum removal rates, considering the several constraints of grinding power, workpiece burn, chatter vibration and surface roughness. Specialized knowledge of the grinding operations are acquired from the actual operation database. Coefficientis in the experimental equations are obtaines through the fuzzy regression model based on the fuzzy set theory, and are stored in the actual operation database. The developed system is capable of determining the optimum grinding conditions taking into account some problems, and practical examples of implementaion are described.

  • 연삭가공중에 발생하는 트러블의 인식과 처리는 공학적 원리에 입각한 방법과 현장 숙련기술자의 경험적 지식을 바탕으로한 방법이있다. 그러나, 연삭가공은 관계되는 가공변수가 많아, 이들 상호간의 관계를 정량적으로 규명할 수 없어 대부분이 숙련자의 지식에 의존하는 것이 현실정이다. 본 논문은 이와같은 점에 착안하여 원통연삭을 대상으로 현장숙련자가 갖고 있는 경험적이고도 정성적인 지식의 호과적인 활용을 위해 계층분석으로 도입하여 이들이 갖고 있는 노하우를 정량화하고, 아울러 공학적원리를 가미한 연삭가공을 트러블 진단. 처리 시스템을 구축하였다. 또한 시스템 구성에 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 폴트 진단 모델을 도입하였다.
