This paper presents an image segmentation algorithm to obtain the 3D body shape data that the grid pattern and the body contour lute in the background image are extracted using the new proposed hybrid method. The body contour line is extracted based on maximum biased anisotropic recognition(MaxBAR) algorithm which recognizes the most strong and robust edges in the image since the normal derivative at the edges is large, while the tangential derivatives can be small. The grid patterns within body contour lines are extracted by grid pattern detection (GPD). The body contour lilies and the grid patterns are combined. The consecutive run test based on heuristic method is used to link the disconnected line and reduce noise line. This proposed segmentation method is more effective than the conventional method which uses a gradient and a laplacian operator, verified with application two conventional method.

This paper proposes a design method of LCL-filter for a grid-connected three-phase inverter using a discontinuous PWM (DPWM) method. When using a DPWM method, many harmonic voltages are generated in the inverter output compared to a continuous PWM (CPWM) method. Therefore, an optimized grid-connected filter design is required for a DPWM method. The proposed design method provides generalized formula to design accurate LCL-filter without trial and error procedures. An inverter side inductance is designed by analyzing the current ripple injected to the grid. The Optimized parameters of LCL-filter can be designed by analyzing the total harmonic distortion (THD) and the ripple attenuation factor of the output current. The proposed LCL filter design method is demonstrated by simulation and experimental results.
In the present paper, a method of nearly orthogonal grid generation in an arbitrary simply-connected 3D domain will be presented. The method is a new direct and non-iterative scheme based on the concept of the decomposition of the global orthogonal transformation into consecutive mapping of a conformal mapping and an auxiliary orthogonal mapping, which was suggested by King and Leal [4]. In our numerical scheme. Kang and Leal's method is extended from 2D problems to 3D problems while the advantage of the non-iterative algorithm is maintained. The essence of the present mapping method is that an iterative scheme can be avoided by introducing a preliminary step. This preliminary step corresponds to a conformal map and is based on the boundary element method(BEM). This scheme is applied to generate several nearly-orthogonal grid systems which are orthogonal at boundaries.

In order to improve the accuracy of the solution near the boundary in an analysis of viscous flow around an arbitrary boundary which move and be deformed using an Eulerian concept, a level-set based grid deformation method is introduced to concentrate grid points near the boundary. This paper presents a new monitor function which can easily control the level of the concentration of grid points along the boundary. Computations for steady flow around a semi-circular cylinder mounted on the bottom of the flow domain were carried out to check the improvement of the solution using the adaptive grid system with an immersed boundary method. The present numerical results show a good agreement with the solutions obtained by a body fitted grid system and more accurate solutions than those computed with non-adaptive grid system. For the validation of mechanical usefulness of the present method, an expanded analysis of flow around multi-body fixed in the flow domain was carried out. Finally, the present moving adaptive grid method was applied to a two-dimensional bubble rise problem. The computed results show well adapted grid points around the boundary of the bubble at every time and a good agreement with the result calculated by fixed grid system.

This paper presents an algorithm of a compensation of the grid current distortion caused by the grid voltage unbalance and distortion in 3-phase bi-directional DC to AC inverter. Usually 3-phase grid system has unbalance and distortion because of connecting 1-phase and non-linear load with 3-phase load using same input node. Controlling 3-phase inverter by general method under the unbalanced and distorted grid voltage, the grid current has distortion. This distortion of the grid current cause the grid voltage distortion again. So, it need to control the grid current balanced and non-distorted, even the grid voltage gets unbalanced and distorted. There are some complex method to compensate the gird current distortion. it suggest simple method to solve the problem. Simulation and experiment is used to validate the proposed algorithm.
In this paper the numerical method with a zonal embedded grid system for an incompressible flow within a circular container is presented. The algorithm is validated by its application to some typical flow models including the spin-up flow inside a half-circle geometry.
The objective of this paper is to design multichannel spherical loudspeaker array by considering various positioning methods such as Gaussian grid, Lebedev grid and packing method. For the spatial sound manipulation, which is to make desired sound field by controling multiple sound sources, the Kirchhoff- Helmholtz integral states that sound fields can be reproduced in terms of infinite control sources on the integral surface. But since we cannot control infinite number of sources for the implementation, we have to allocate finite number of sound sources which can approximately act as infinite number of sources. To manipulate sound field inside of a sphere (which is typical example of three dimensional array) by controlling sound sources on the surface, three methods of allocating sound sources, which are Gaussian grid, Lebedev grid and packing method, are reviewed. For each geometry, the performances of manipulation rendered by time-reversal operator and higher-order ambisonics are compared.

In this paper, an Euler equation solver based on a Cartesian-grid method and non-uniform staggered grid system is applied to predict the ship motion response and added resistance in waves. Water, air, and solid domains are identified by a volume-fraction function for each phase and in each cell. For capturing the interface between air and water, the tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) scheme is used with a weighed line interface calculation (WLIC) method. The volume fraction of solid body embedded in a Cartesian-grid system is calculated by a level-set based algorithm, and the body boundary condition is imposed by volume weighted formula. Added resistance is calculated by direct pressure integration on the ship surface. Numerical simulations for a Wigley III hull and an S175 containership in regular waves have been carried out to validate the newly developed code, and the ship motion responses and added resistances are compared with experimental data. For S175 containership, grid convergence test has been conducted to investigate the sensitivity of grid spacing on the motion responses and added resistances.
Chimera grid methods have been widely used in Computational Fluid Dynamics due to its simplicity in constructing grid systems over complex bodies, and suitability for unsteady flow computations with bodies in relative motion. However, the interpolation procedure for ensuring the continuity of the solution over overlapped regions fails when the so-called orphan cells are present. We have adopted the MLS(Moving Least Squares) method to replace commonly used linear interpolations in order to alleviate the difficulty associated with the orphan cells. MLS is one of the interpolation methods used in mesh-less methods. A number of examples with MLS are presented to show the validity and the accuracy of the method.

This paper presents a control method for reducing the distortion of the grid current at a grid-connected three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter. The grid current is distorted from the 5th and 7th harmonic components in the stationary frame current also the 6th harmonic component in the synchronous frame current. In this paper, the 6th harmonic component on synchronous frame is controlled by using all-pass filters (APFs) and proportional integral (PI) controllers for distortion of the grid side. When transformed the 6th harmonic component is controlled, the 5th and 7th harmonic components are reduced. The validity of the proposed control method is verified by simulation and experiment results using a 25kW three-level NPC inverter.
