  • Four tecbniques are treated. The technique using the area and the perimeter is very easy but considerable error can be made and commonly the technique using grid is used. Particularly, simaar technique using computer makes possible to represent the slope at each point of the grid and to compare with other data. The tehcnnique using vector product, with which a cuuved surface can be measured directly by segmenting by triangles, is useful but it represent considerable error where the relief is rugged.

  • This study presents an input filter resonance mitigation method for an AC-DC matrix converter. This method combines the advantages of the one-cycle control strategy and the active damping technique. Unnecessary sensors are removed, and system cost is reduced by employing the grid-side input currents as feedback to damp out LC resonance. A model that includes the proposed method and the input filter is established with consideration of the delay caused by the actual controller. A zero-pole map is employed to analyze model stability and to investigate virtual resistor parameter design principles. Based on a double closed-loop control scheme, the one-cycle control strategy does not require any complex modulation index control. Thus, this strategy can be more easily implemented than traditional space vector-based methods. Experimental results demonstrate the veracity of theoretical analysis and the feasibility of the proposed approach.

  • National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) in Korea, through National Geographic Information System (NGIS) Program, has prepared to generate and disseminate digital elevation data for Korea. This is a pilot research to propose a policy for generation, maintenance, and supply of Korea Digital Elevation Data (KDED). Customer demands for accuracy and resolution of DEM was surveyed through questionnaire. In order to investigate the quality, the technical efficiency and the production cost, a tentative DEM in a small test site was generated based on digital topographic maps (original paper map scale 1 :5,000), analytical plotter, and LIDAR. Accuracy standard for KDED was derived based on source data and generation methods. As results of this research, we recommend uniformly spaced grid model for KDED. Its preferable grid space is 5m in urban and its vicinity; and 10m in field and mountainous area. LIDAR has been valuated as a proper KDED generation method fulfilling customers demand for the accuracy.

  • Improvement in microwave absorbance has been investigated by insertion of a periodic air cavity in rubber composites filled with magnetic powders. A mixture of $Co_2Z$ hexagonal ferrite and Fe powders were used as the absorbent fillers in silicone rubber matrix. The complex permeability and complex permittivity of the magnetic composites were measured by reflection/transmission technique. In the grid-type magnetic absorbers, the equivalent permeability (${\mu}_{eq}$) and permittivity (${\varepsilon}_{eq}$) are calculated as a function of air volume rate (K) on the basis of effective medium theory. Reduction in the material parameters (especially, dielectric permittivity and magnetic loss) has been estimated with the increase of K. Plotting the ${\mu}_{eq}$ and ${\varepsilon}_{eq}$ on the solution map of wave-impedance matching, wide bandwidth microwave absorbance has been predicted in the magnetic composites with an optimum value of K.

  • Currently Spatial Data is collected and processed in various methods, and its usability is very high. However, the existing Spatial Data analysis Software usually requires professional knowledge in the collection, refinement, and application of spatial Date, making it difficult to access and apply it. Therefore, this study established a new WebGIS platform with improved accessibility and usability to solve these problems. This platform supports various services such as master map sharing, spatial data generation, automatic coordinate system conversion, WMS issuance, grid generation, and grid analysis. These services increase operational convenience, such as simplifying repetitive tasks and automatically expressing text files. While it is believed that non-experts can easily and conveniently because of them to simplify and express the results. In addition, it is judged to have high accuracy and reliability compared to the analysis results using the existing Open Source-based GIS software.

  • This paper describes a global path planning method and path optimization algorithm for autonomous mobile robot based on the virtual elastic force in a grid map environment. A goal of a path planning is information for a robot to go its goal point from start point by a effective way. The AStar algorithm is a well-known method for a grid based path planning. This paper suggest a path optimization method by a virtual elastic force and compare the algorithm with a orignal AStar method. The virtual elastic force makes a shorter and smoother path. It is a profitable algorithm to optimize a path in a grid environment.

  • Recently, GIS tend to be studied in water resoruces field. In hydrology analysis, GIS propose way that can develop subjective element of designer objectively. The development project is conducting disaster effect estimation to breed disaster, and cope these disaster beforehand provoking soil erosion and food recently. In this study, receive value of LS factor through DEM data at volume of soil erosion computation by disaster effect estimation and whether it are some relation effect of gradient and change of soil erosion by grid size did comparative analysis. As a result, according as grid size great, gradient became slow and could know that error value of gradient great according as storing scale of digital topographical map grows.

  • Images with high resolution are desired and often required in many visual applications. When resolution can not be improved by replacing sensors, either because of cost or hardware physical limits, super resolution image reconstruction method is what can be resorted to. Super resolution image reconstruction method refers to image processing algorithms that produce high quality and high resolution images from a set of low quality and low resolution images. The method is proved to be useful in many practical cases where multiple frames of the same scene can be obtained, including satellite imaging, video surveillance, video enhancement and restoration, digital mosaicking, and medical imaging. The method can be either the frequency domain approach or the spatial domain approach. Much of the earlier works concentrated on the frequency domain formulation, but as more general degradation models were considered, later researches had been almost exclusively on spatial domain formulations. The method in spatial domains has three stages: i) motion estimate or image registration, ii) interpolation onto high resolution grid and iii) deblurring process. The super resolution grid construction in the second stage was discussed in this paper. We applied the Maximum APosteriori(MAP) reconstruction method that is one of the major methods in the super resolution grid construction. Based on this method, we reconstructed high resolution images from a set of low resolution images and compared the results with those from other known interpolation methods.

  • In this paper, geographic information system(GIS) for an intelligent power distribution network was implemented with location informations acquired from automatic meter reading system, where the location informations of power line communication(PLC) modems installed at customer side were collected at data concentration units(DCUs) of headend equipment via PLC and then were transmitted to front end processor server. By displaying the connection status of the power distribution network on GIS map, operation of advanced metering infrastructure(AMI) or management of power grid system could be performed intuitionally and in real time, because the configuration state of the power grid could be easily monitored. The feasibility of the proposed system was confirmed with the especially constructed laboratory-level test bed and the verification test of the system will be carried out for a real power distribution network.
