MDS를 위한 클러스터 시스템의 PBS 기반 정보 제공자 개발 (Development of an PBS-based Information Provider of Cluster System for MDS)

  • 최근 그리드 환경 같은 고성능 컴퓨팅 분야에서 널리 보급되고 있는 컴퓨팅 환경은 클러스터 시스템이다. 그러나 그리드 환경에서 클러스터 시스템의 주요한 정보들이 다른 시스템들에게 적절하게 제공되지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 정보들을 제공하는 체계를 제안하였다. 그리드 환경에서 클러스터 시스템의 정보를 제공한다. 이러한 배경하에서 그리드 정보 서비스의 활용 가능성이 증대될 수 있다.

  • Parallel implementation and performance assessment of the grid assembly in a structured chimera grid approach is studied. The grid assembly process, involving hole cutting and searching donor, is parallelized on the PC cluster. A message passing programming model based on the MPI library is implemented using the single program multiple data(SPMD) paradigm. The coarse-grained communication is optimized with the minimized memory allocation because that the parallel grid assembly can access the decomposed geometry data in other processors by only message passing in the distributed memory system such as a PC cluster. The grid assembly workload is based on the static load balancing tied to flow solver. A goal of this work is a development of parallelized grid assembly that is suited for handling multiple moving body problems with large grid size.

Suppression of silicon clusters using a grid mesh under DC bias

  • Si clusters generated during the plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process have a great influence on the quality of the fabricated films. In particular, in hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin films (a-Si:H) used for thin film solar cells, Si clusters are mainly responsible for light-induced degradation. In this study, we investigated the amount of clusters incorporated into thin films using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and specially designed cluster eliminating filters, and investigated the effect of the DC grid mesh in preventing cluster incorporation. Experimental results showed that as the applied voltage of the grid mesh, which is placed between the electrode and the QCM, decreased, the number of clusters incorporated into the film decreased. This is due to the electrostatic force from the grid mesh bias, and this method is expected to contribute to the fabrication of high-quality thin films by preventing Si cluster incorporation.

그리드 컴퓨팅을 이용한 열유동 해석 기법에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study of Thermal-Fluid Flow Analysis Using Grid Computing)

  • Simulation of three-dimensional turbulent flow with LES and DNS lakes much time and expense with currently available computing resources and requires big computing resources especially for high Reynolds number. The emerging alternative to provide the required computing power and working environment is the Grid computing technology. We developed the CFD code which carries out the parallel computing under the Grid environment. We constructed the Grid environment by connecting different PC-cluster systems located at two different institutes of Pusan National University in Busan and KISTI in Daejeon. The specification of PC-cluster located at two different institutes is not uniform. We run our parallelized computer code under the Grid environment and compared its performance with that obtained using the homogeneous computing environment. When we run our code under the Grid environment, the communication time between different computer nodes takes much larger time than the real computation time. Thus the Grid computing requires the highly fast network speed.

  • For simulation of three-dimensional turbulent flow with LES and DNS takes much time and expense with current available computing resources. It is nearly impossible to simulate turbulent flow with high Reynolds number. So, the emerging alternative is the Grid computing for needed computation power and working environment. In this study, the CFD code was parallelized to adapt it for the parallel computing under the Grid environment. In the first place, the Grid environment was built to connect the PC-Cluster facilities belong to the different institutions using communication network system. And CFD applications were calculated to check the performance of the parallel code developed for the Grid environment. Although it is a fundamental study, it brings about a important meaning as first step in research of the Grid.

병렬처리와 가상격자를 이용한 대용량 항공 레이저 스캔 자료의 효율적인 처리 (Efficient Processing of Huge Airborne Laser Scanned Data Utilizing Parallel Computing and Virtual Grid)

  • 본 연구에서는 대용량의 항공 레이저 스캔 자료를 효율적으로 처리하기 병렬처리 기법과 가상격자 구조를 도입하였으며 제안한 방법의 실효성을 평가하기 위하여 IDW(Inverse Distance Weighting) 방식으로 정규격자 DSM을 생성하였다. 즉, 대용량 항공 레이저 스캔 자료의 신속한 보간을 위하여 병렬처리 기법을 이용하고 불규칙적으로 분포된 포인트의 검색 효율성을 제고하기 위하여 가상격자(virtual grid)를 사용하였다. 마스터 노드와 6대의 슬래이브 노드로 구성된 클러스터를 사용하여 처리 시간을 측정한 결과 노드의 수가 증가하더라도 1에 가까운 efficiency를 나타내었으며 load scalability의 특성도 만족시켰다. 또한 용량의 한계로 인하여 단일 시스템에서 처리할 수 없는 크기의 자료를 클러스터 시스템으로 처리할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

그리드지도의 방향정보 이용한 형상지도형성 (Feature Map Construction using Orientation Information in a Grid Map)

  • The paper persents an efficient method of extracting line segment in a grid map. The grid map is composed of 2-D grids that have both the occupancy and orientation probabilities based on the simplified Bayesian updating model. The probabilities and orientations of cells in the grid map are continuously updated while the robot explorers to their values. The line segments are, then, extracted from the clusters using Hough transform methods. The eng points of a line segment are evaluated from the cells in each cluster, which is simple and efficient comparing to existing methods. The proposed methods are illustrated by sets of experiments in an indoor environment.

  • At present, the smart grid has become one of the indispensable infrastructures in people's lives. As a commonly used communication method, wireless communication is gradually, being widely used in smart grid systems due to its convenient deployment and wide range of serious challenges to security. For the insecurity of the schemes based on large integer factorization and discrete logarithm problem in the quantum environment, an identity-based key management scheme for smart grid over lattice is proposed. To assure the communication security, through constructing intra-cluster and inter-cluster multi-hop routing secure mechanism. The time parameter and identity information are introduced in the relying phase. Through using the symmetric cryptography algorithm to encrypt improve communication efficiency. Through output the authentication information with probability, the protocol makes the private key of the certification body no relation with the distribution of authentication information. Theoretic studies and figures show that the efficiency of keys can be authenticated, so the number of attacks, including masquerade, reply and message manipulation attacks can be resisted. The new scheme can not only increase the security, but also decrease the communication energy consumption.

Privacy Enhanced Security Mechanism for Grid Applications

  • Grid system is based on the Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI). GSI uses user's proxy to guarantee availability among multi-trust domains. Since grid system has been developed focusing on availability, GSI provides authentication and authorization performed by systems, but there are lacks of privacy consideration. For this reason, some researchers decide to use their own cluster system and do not want to use public grid systems. In this paper, we introduce a new privacy enhanced security mechanism for grid systems. With this mechanism, user can participate in resource allocation and authorization to user's contents more actively. This mechanism does not need to change previous middleware and minimize the computational overheads.
