Green-light emitting $BaMgAl_{10}O_{19}:Mn^{2+}$ (BAM:Mn) phosphor particles were prepared by spray Pyrolysis. The effect of reactor temperature and flow rate of carrier gas in the spray Pyrolysis on the morphology, crystallinity and photoluminescence characteristics under vacuum ultraviolet were investigated. The morphology of the as-Prepared Particles obtained by spray Pyrolysis had spherical shape and non-aggregation characteristics regardless of the reactor temperature. The spherical shape of the as-prepared Particles obtained by spray pyrolysis at low temperature disappeared after Post-treatment. On the other hand the as-Prepared Particles obtained by spray Pyrolysis at $1600^{\circ}C$ maintained spherical shape and non-aggregation characteristics after post-treatment at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 3 h under reducing atmosphere. The BAM:Mn Phosphor Particles Prepared by spray Pyrolysis at different reactor temperatures had pure crystal structure and high photoluminescence intensities under vacuum ultraviolet after post-treatment. BAM:Mn phosphor particles prepared by spray Pyrolysis at low How rate of carrier gas had complete spherical shape and filed morphology and high photoluminescence intensity after post-treatment under reducing atmosphere.

$GdPO_4$:Tb phosphor particles with spherical shape and high photoluminescence were prepared by spray pyrolysis. The brightness of prepared $GdPO_4$:Tb under the vacuum ultraviolet(VUV) illumination was comparable with that of the commercial $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphor particles. The photoluminescence spectra of $GdPO_4$:Tb phosphor particles had maximum peak at 547 nm, and the sharp peaks at 480 nm, 580 nm, and 620 nm. The spherical morphology of prepared $GdPO_4$:Tb particles was completely maintained even after the posttreatment up to 1100 $^{\circ}C$. When the posttreatment temperature was over 1100 $^{\circ}C$, the particles did not have the spherical shape anymore. The average particle size of $GdPO_4$:Tb phosphor particles prepared by using $(NH_4)_2HPO_4$ was changed from 0.5 to 1.9 ${\mu}m$ and its effect on the PL intensity was investigated. It was found that the optimized $GdPO_4$:Tb particles have a good excitation spectrum comparable to that of the commercial $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphor particles under the VUV illumination from 140 to 220 nm. We concluded that the $GdPO_4$:Tb phosphor particles with spherical shape prepared by spray pyrolysis is a promising candidate for a green-emitting PDP phosphor.
$Eu^{3+}$-doped $MgMoO_4$ phosphor thin films were deposited on quartz substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering with changing various growth temperatures. The effects of growth temperature on the structure, transmittance, optical band gap, and luminescence of the phosphor thin films were characterized. All the phosphor thin films, irrespective of growth temperature, showed a monoclinic structure with a main (220) diffraction peak. The thin film deposited at a growth temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ indicated an average transmittance of 90% in the wavelength range of 500 ~ 1100 nm and band gap energy of 4.81 eV. The excitation spectra of the phosphor thin films consisted of a broad charge transfer band peaked at 284 nm in the range of 230 ~ 330 nm and two weak peaks located at 368 and 461 nm, respectively. The emission spectra under ultraviolet excitation at 284 nm exhibited a sharp emission peak at 614 nm and several weak bands. All the phosphor thin films showed high asymmetry ratio values, indicating that $Eu^{3+}$ ions incorporated into the host lattice occupied at the non-inversion symmetry sites. The results suggest that the growth temperature plays an important role in growing high-quality phosphor thin films.
The new green and red phosphors for PDP application activated by T $b^{3+}$ and E $u^{3+}$ were synthesized, and their photoluminance properties were investigated. It was found that the brightness of $Al_3$Gd $B_4$$O_{12}$ :T $b^{3+}$ green phosphor under 147nm VUV irradiation was higher than that of commercial Z $n_2$$SiO_4$:M $n^{2+}$ phosphor. But the emitting intensity of A1$_3$Gd $B_4$$O^{12}$ :E $u^{3+}$ red phosphor was inferior to the commercial (Y,Gd)B $O_3$:E $u^{3+}$. $Al_3$Gd $B_4$$O_{12}$ Phosphor had a strong excitation band at 160nm associated with the host absorption, and also the photoluminance excitation intensity of $Al_3$Gd $B_4$$O_{12}$ :T $b^{3+}$ was higher than that of Z $n_2$$SiO_4$:M $n^{2+}$, but the intensity of $Al_3$Gd $B_4$$O_{12}$ :E $u^{3+}$ phosphor was smaller than (Y,Gd)B $O_3$:E $u^{3+}$ phosphor In the VUV range. C $e^{3+}$ co-doping in A1$_3$Gd $B_4$$O^{12}$ :E $u^{3+}$ and substitution of $Al^{3+}$ by G $a^{3+}$ A1$_3$Gd $B_4$$O^{12}$ :E $u^{3+}$ phosphor were tried, but they did not improved the optical property .d the optical property .ty .
The dynamic false contour noise was analyzed with consideration for the phosphor decay time of an ac PDP by computer simulation based on the measurement of the 1/10 phosphor decay times of the primary colors red, green and blue at the main wavelengths of each phosphor. The noise level of dynamic false contour is strongly dependent on phosphor decay time. The noise level decreases incrementally with the phosphor decay time, whereas the noise width increases. The moving velocity of an object does not affect the noise level. The entire experiment was performed under the condition of 8 subfields ADS driving scheme, 2.5[${\mu}sec$] scan speed, and 5[${\mu}sec$] sustain period with VGA grade panel.
A new method for the preparation of lanthanide ions activated strontium aluminates phosphor by combustion method has been proposed. Combustion method consist of the redox reactions between the respective metal nitrates and urea in a preheated funace at $500^{\circ}C$. The luminescence behavior of the phosphor was studied and compared with corresponding phosphor prepared by conventional method. Effect of $Mg^{2+}$ ion concentration in strontium aluminate phosphor was investigated and the maximum luminescence of about $100cd/m^2$ was obtained. This method gave better brightness and small size to the phosphor than made by conventional method.
Recently, various screen film system have been introduced in diagnostic radiology. There are two kinds of screen film system : blue emitting $CaWO_4$ screen has been largely used in these days. However, it tends to be changed to use green emitting $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb screen. In this study, photographic characteristics of $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb screen were investigated with luminescence, spectroscopy. The morphology of $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb were also observed by using scanning electron microscope. The result obtained were as follows : 1. There was small difference in the thickness of phosphor layers for the front and back screen of blue emitting system, but little difference in those of green emitting system. 2. There was no difference in the size of phosphor particles between the front and back screen for each screen. However, the particle size was different for the various kinds of screens. 3. The shape of phosphor particle was round with many faces for all the screens. 4. In the exposure of X-ray with the same intensity, luminescent intensity of a green emitting system was $6{\sim}7$ times larger than that of a blue emitting system. 5. The thickness of phosphor layers does not affect on the sensitivity of the screens exposed by X-ray.
In this study, we fabricated high quality color conversion component with green/red phosphor and low melting glass frit. The color conversion component was prepared by placing the green and red phosphor layer on slide glass via screen printing process. The properties of color conversion component could be controlled by changing coating sequence, layer thickness and heat treatment temperature. We discovered that optical properties of color conversion component were generally determined by the lowest layer. On the other hand, the heat treatment temperature also affected to correlated color temperature (CCT) and color rending index (CRI). The color conversion component with a green (lower) - red (upper) layer which was sintered at $550^{\circ}C$ showed the best optical properties: CCT, CRI and luminance efficacy were 3340 K, 78, and 56.5 lm/w, respectively.
$SrSnO_3:Tb^{3+}$ phosphor thin films were prepared on sapphire and quartz substrates in the growth temperature range of $100{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ by using the radio frequency magnetron sputtering deposition. The resulting $SrSnO_3:Tb^{3+}$ thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, ultraviolet-visible-infrared spectrophotometer, and photoluminescence spectrometer. The results indicated that the morphology, optical transmittance, band gap energy, and luminescence intensity of the phosphor thin films significantly depended on the growth temperature. All the thin films, regardless of the type of substrate, showed an amorphous behavior. As for the thin films deposited on sapphire substrate, the maximum crystallite size was obtained at a growth temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ and the strongest emission was green at 544 nm arising from the $^5D_4{\rightarrow}^7F_5$ transition of Tb3+. The average optical transmittance for all the thin films grown on sapphire and quartz substrates was decreased as the growth temperature increased from 100 to $400^{\circ}C$. The results suggest that the optimum growth temperatures for depositing highly-luminescent $SrSnO_3:Tb^{3+}$ phosphor thin films on sapphire and quartz substrates are 400 and $300^{\circ}C$, respectively.
The green-emitting Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor film was evaluated in a xenon excimer lamp. The phosphor film with 2 ㎛ thick was formed of monolithic structure on the inner side of quartz through a long-time annealing process of coated ZnO solution doped with Mn2+ ion and SiO2 of quartz tube. The coated quartz was filled with 100 torr of xenon gas, and simultaneously both sides was melt and sealed. The xenon-field quartz tube was discharge by applying the voltage of 15 kV with a frequency of 26 kHz, and emitted the glow with dominant peak at 172 nm. The vacuum ultraviolet excited the inner-side coated Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor film, which emitted the pure and strong green light.
