김치의 숙성중 색상변화에 관한 연구 (Change in Color of Kimchi during Fermentation)

  • Correlation between pH and color of Kimchi during fermentation was investigated to visually evaluate the fermentation degree of Chinese cabbage Kimchi. Color "a" and 'H" values in the white part, "a", "H" and "C" values in the green part of the Kimchi showed a high correlation with pH, respectively. "a" and "H" values of Kimchi juice. "L" and "V" values of red pepper attached to kimchi had a high correlation with pH. The color of the white part was light greenish white in unripended Kimchi, but changed to redish in ripended kimchi. Green part changed from light green to redish green as ripening. Red pepper powder attached to kimchi showed redish color in unripening, but changed to yellowish re din over ripening.

USGA 지반구조에서 한지형 잔디의 여름 고온기 적응력, 색상 및 연중 녹색 유지기간 비교 (Comparison of Summer Turf Performance, Color, and Green Color Retention among Cool-Season Grasses Grown under USGA Soil System)

  • Research was initiated to investigate turf performance under USGA soil system. USGA system 45 centimeters deep was built with rootzone layer, intermediate layer, and drainage layer. Six turfgrass entries were comprised of 3 blends and 3 mixtures from cool-season grasses (CSG). Turfgrass color and quality ratings were best in spring and fall, especially early May to early July and late August to early November. Kentucky bluegrass (KB) consistently produced the greatest performance, while perennial ryegrass (PR) the poorest. Intermediate turf performance between KB and PR was observed with tall fescue (TF). Among CSG mixtures it increased with KB but decreased with PR. There were considerable variations in summer turf Performance. No summer drought injury was found in KB and TF. However, PR showed poor performance through summer as compared with others. Among mixtures, it decreased with PR. It was suggested that PR mix in less than $20\%$ in the mixtures to have an acceptable quality in summer. Cultural intensity also affected it. With lowering mowing height, KB of rhizomatous-type in growth habit kept good quality, while PR and TF with bunch-type in growth habit poor quality. Mowing quality was greatly different among CSG. KB produced clean-cut surface, but PR unclean one. If had an intermediate mowing quality between KB and PR. A great difference in green color retention was observed among CSG. The longest CSG was PR that kept green for 339 days, while the shortest one TF for 267 days. KB continued to keep green for 290 days. The mixtures kept green in color for 292 to 315 days, depending on turfgrass mixing intensity. The greater the PR in content, the longer the green color duration. These results demonstrate that KB was the best and PR the worst among CSG grown in USGA system under a domestic climate, in regards of turf quality, color, mowing quality, summer turf performance and green color duration. KB and TF are most adequate for high-maintenance and low-maintenance area, respectively. In case of mixtures for high-quality turf, it was desirable to use KB-based mixture with PR of below $20\%$ in seeding rate.

빨강-초록 조합에 대한 전경-배경 조직화에서 성차 (Gender difference in the figure-ground organization of red-green color combination)

  • 인간은 다른 포유류와 달리 삼원색 시각을 가지며 초록과 빨강을 잘 구분한다. 인간이 삼원색 시각을 갖게 된 원인에 대해서 익은 과일 가설(frugivory hypothesis) 지지자들은 초기 인류가 초록 잎에서 빨갛게 익은 과일을 구별하여 섭식하려는 행동 때문이라고 주장한다. 본 연구는 과연 빨강-초록 조합이 물체재인의 전 단계로 알려진 전경-배경 조직화에 영향을 주는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 빨간색 원이 초록 바탕에 놓이거나, 초록색 원이 빨강 바탕 위에 놓여 참여자에게 제시되어, 어느 쪽이 더 전경처럼 보이는지를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 여성이 빨간색 원을 더 전경으로 보는 경향이 강했고, 남성은 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한, 이 결과는 단순히 남녀의 색깔 선호 때문이 아니었다. 종합하면, 본 연구의 결과는 비록 직접적은 증거가 될 수는 없지만, 빨강-초록 조합에 대한 남녀의 전경-배경 조직화 처리과정에서 차이가 있을 가능성이 조심스레 제기된다. 여성은 집 근처에서 먹을 것을 수집하고 남성은 집 멀리에서 사냥한다는 수집-사냥 가설(gatherer-hunter hypothesis)을 비롯해 가능한 설명들을 논의 하였다.

대학생의 색채 선호와 색채 의미 (Color Preference and Color Meaning of University Students)

  • The purpose of this study were to see what is the color preference for college students and the meaning of color, based on color psychology. The subjects are the male and female university students in Busan and the survey is conducted in March 2009, September 2009. Analysis is based on eight kinds of colors such as red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple which are used in the psychological analysis of Howard & Dorothy Sun Corporate CRR (Colour reflection reading), and words representing the meaning of colors. A total of 259 questionnaires were used to analyze data and analysis was conducted by using SPSS 14.0 statistical package. First, by examining the best three colors among eight colors, the red which represents sociable and passionate leadership and a lot of energy was the first. Second, in terms of positive and negative sense, the green is stable, protected, red is passionate, strong', yellow is bright, happy and green is' clean, young. The Blues has peaceful, tranquil image', the orange is lively animation, cheerful, and the purple shows a positive meaning of beautiful, precious, often mature, loving. Third, the preferences of boys and girls to compare colors in the first preferred color, there were significant differences between boys and girls. Most boys prefer blue, while the girls like red the most. Both boys and girls look at the meaning of green color with the most positive sense and especially male students have the negative connotation about the green color than female students.

Effect of Harvesting Time on the Yield, Color, and Proximate Compositions of Jinbu Variety Green Rice®

  • The degree of maturity of rice greatly affects the quality of the rice, including factors such as the integrity of grains, color, and the nutritive components. Green Rice$^{(R)}$ is rice (Oryza sativa L.) that has been harvested earlier than brown rice and appears green in color. To determine suitable harvesting time of the Jinbu variety of Green Rice$^{(R)}$ in Gyeonggido, rice samples harvested on 23, 26 and 42 days after heading (DAH) were compared on their yield, color intensity, and proximate compositions. The maximum paddy yield of Green Rice$^{(R)}$ was 61.4% at 23 DAH, which decreased to 45.4%, 5.5% at 26 and 42 DAH, respectively. Greenness was darker at 23 DAH ($-0.27{\pm}0.03$), and significantly weaker (p<0.05) at 26 DAH ($0.07{\pm}0.01$) and at 42 DAH ($5.25{\pm}0.08$). All proximate compositions, except carbohydrate, including moisture, crude fat, protein, ash and total minerals were higher in the earlier-harvested Green rice$^{(R)}$ than in brown rice, without variations among the 23 and 26 DAH Green rice$^{(R)}$. Overall, the optimum harvest time of Jinbu Green Rice$^{(R)}$ at Gyeonggido would be 23 DAH. We suggest that timely harvesting could be a potent determinant of the quality of Green Rice$^{(R)}$.

  • At present, Characteristic of high color reproduction for LCD products needed in Display market. Therefore, The improving methods of high color reproduction are alteration of color Filter or Red, Green, Blue phosphor alteration of CCFL. But High color reproduction phosphor is short life time as compared with conventional phosphor. In this experiment, by using split the Red, Green, Blue CCFL with high color reproduction phosphor instead of conventional high color reproduction CCFL. We knew that the high color reproduction RGB split CCFL BLU has same spectrum data and chromaticity, but has long life time as manufacturing RGB split CCFL and reduce chromaticity shift following long time discharge as compared with conventional high color reproduction CCFL.

파래분말 첨가 설기떡의 최적화 (Optimization of Sulgidduk with Green Laver Powder Using a Response Surface Methodology)

  • This study was performed to determine the optimal manufacturing conditions adding green laver, which has a rich aroma and unique taste, to Sulgidduk. The variables in green laver Sulgidduk production were amounts of green laver powder and water. Six sensory characteristics were used for sensory evaluations, including color, green laver flavor, green laver taste, moistness, softness, and elasticity. The optimal amounts of the powder and water were found to be 6.84 g for green laver powder and 31.08 g for water, satisfying a target sensory score (7.0/9.0) according to a response surface method. Sulgidduk with these optimal amounts of green laver and water was tasted by 118 consumers and showed a high acceptability score (6.94). Older consumers ($\geq$30 years old) preferred the color and flavor of green laver significantly more than younger consumers ($\leq$29 years old) did (p<0.01). Color analysis results of green laver Sulgidduk were significantly different in brightness, redness, and yellowness from those of Sulgidduk (control)(p<0.01). Texture analysis scores of green laver Sulgidduk were significantly lower than those of Sulgidduk (control) in hardness, adhesiveness, springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, and chewiness, and they were significantly different in adhesiveness and chewiness (p<0.05).

스포츠용 다단구조, USGA구조 및 약식구조 지반에서 한국잔디 및 한지형 잔디의 녹색기간 비교 (Comparison of Green Color Retention of Zoysiagrass and Cool-season Grass under Multilayer System, USGA System, and Mono-layer System of Sports Field)

  • 본 연구는 스포츠용 다단구조, USGA구조 및 약식구조에서 난지형 및 한지형 주요 초종의 연중 녹색 유지 기간을 비교하고자 수행하였다. 공시 초종은 전체 9종류로 들잔디 세 품종과 한지형 잔디 조합종 및 혼합구가 각각 세 종류이었다. 잔디지반 및 초종 별로 연중 색상 품질 및 녹색 유지 기간에 대해 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 지반 간 차이는 약식구조에 비해 다단 및 USGA 구조에서 잔디의 색상이 우수하였으며, 녹색 기간도 더 길게 나타났다. 초종 간 색상 차이는 계절적으로 12월 하순부터 녹화가 시작되는 이른 봄까지 크게 나타났다. 녹색 유지 기간은 한지형 잔디가 난지형 들잔디에 비해 더 길게 나타났다. 들잔디의 평균 녹색유지 기간은 약 6개월 정도였고, 이른 봄 녹화 시점은 5월 1일-5월 14일 사이, 가을에 휴면에 들어가는 시점은 10월 28일-11월 8일 사이로 나타났다. 한지형 잔디는 3월 초순-4월 초순 사이 녹화가 완료되어 동절기인 12월 중순-2월 초순까지 색상이 유지되어 초종에 따라 전체 지반 평균의 푸른 기간이 약 8.5-11개월 사이로 다양하게 나타났다. 잔디지반 유형에 따라 한지형 잔디의 녹색기간은 퍼레니얼 라이그래스의 경우 10-11개월 정도로 가장 길었고, 반면 톨 훼스큐가 8.5-9개월 정도로 가장 짧았다. 켄터키 블루그래스는 9-10개월 정도로 퍼레니얼 라이그래스와 톨 훼스큐의 중간 정도의 녹색 기간을 나타냈으며, 한지형 혼합구의 푸른 기간은 퍼레니얼 라이그래스가 많이 혼합 될수록 길어지고, 톨 훼스큐가 많이 섞일수록 짧아지는 경향이었다. 지반에 따른 초종별 녹색기간 차이는 난지형인 들잔디의 '야지', '중지' 및 '제니스'간의 차이는 2-6일로 짧은 반면, 한지형 잔디는 최소 7일-최대 36일 까지 상당히 크게 나타났다. 즉 초종 및 지반에 따라 녹색 유지 기간 차이가 다르게 나타나기 때문에 정원, 공원, 경기장 및 골프장 등 잔디밭 조성 시 컨셉에 의한 초종 및 지반 선정이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 다양한 결과는 경기장 및 골프장 등 스포츠 잔디밭 설계 시 기대하는 녹화기간에 따라 지반선정 및 초종 선택에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Color Saturation Improvement through the Use of Unequal-Area Color Filters for the RGB-LED-Backlight RGBW LCD

  • The dependences of color gamut size and power consumption on the area ratio of the neutral and green subpixels for the RGB-LED-backlight RGBW LCD were studied, in which the red- and blue-subpixel areas are the same and represent one-quarter of the pixel aperture area. It was found that the color saturation of the RGBW LCD can be improved through the use of a smaller neutral- and green-subpixel area ratio, at the expense of higher power consumption.

Morphological Characterization of Fagopyrum esculentum Germplasm for Rutin and Quercetin Contents

  • Buckwheat is well-known crop for containing a high contents of flavonoids that are effective in vascular disease. The current study was performed to estimate the influence of morphological characterization of Fagopyrum esculentum (ES) germplasm for seed's two major flavonoids contents: rutin and quercetin. We found that the red stem color, pale green leaf color, arrowhead leaf shape, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color, and egg-shaped seed were significantly associated with 77%, 56.7%, 83.7%, 98.7%, 70.8% and 74.5% germplasm, respectively. Overall, the rutin contents of ES germplasm ranged from 0.30 to 47.86 mg/100g dry weight (DW) and the quercetin contents ranged from 0 to 1.22 mg/100g DW. The rutin contents of germplasm possessing red stem color, pale green leaf color, arrowhead leaves, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color and egg-shaped seed ranged from 7.22 to 47.86 mg/100g DW. However, the quercetin contents of germplasm with red stem color and pale brown seed coat color ranged from 0 to 1.15 mg/100g DW, with pale green leaves ranged from 0 to 0.96 mg/100g, with arrowhead leaves and white flower ranged from 0 to 1.22 mg/100g and with egg-shaped seed ranged from 0.32 to 1.22 mg/100g DW. In PCA analysis, the first three principal components (PCs) showed Eigen value more than 1 and accounted for 51.70% of variation. For both higher contents of rutin and quercetin, the morphological evaluation in ES shows a tendency of red stem color, arrowhead leaves, pale green leaf color, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color and egg-shaped seed. From this information, we can assume the rutin and quercetin contents by the morphological characteristics of the germplasm. And It could be useful in improving the rutin and quercetin contents and selecting proper resources for cultivation in existing buckwheat cultivars.
