This paper analyzes clothing symbolism of mood and emotion described in master pieces of Charles dickens(2812∼1870), who is a well-known writer of England, and thus tries to clarify symbolic characteristics of clothing woven into all human lives.. The result show that clothing symbolizes in various ways such mood and emotion as bless, wrath, friendliness, respect, surprise, excitement, embarrassment, uneasiness, sadness, melancholy, anxiety, hostility, unpleasantness, deliveration, shyness, blessing, gratitude, despair, shame, sympathy, boasting, etc.

Purpose: Will more expensive gifts be more pleasurable and appreciated? This is a general expectation of gift-givers. According to the previous study on Americans (Flynn and Adams 2009), recipients tend to appreciate gifts regardless of their price. It indicates that there is an interaction effect between position (giving / receiving) and gift price. This study expands the previous study and aims to answer the following two questions: "Are such an interaction effect observed in Korean, too?" and "What types of people prefer expensive gifts?" Research design, data, and methodology: Study 1 of the current research repeated the Study 3 of Flynn and Adams (2009), with an iPod (high-priced gift condition) and a music CD (low-priced gift condition). That is, a 2 (gift price: high / low) x 2 (position: giver / receiver) between-group design was used. Study 2 used gift certificates of 100,000 won (high-priced gift condition) and 5,000-won gift (low-priced gift condition). Unlike the previous study that measured only one dependent variable (gratitude), this study added five more dependent variables in an attempt to exclude alternative explanations, such as endowment effects or emotional conflicts. This study also measured individualism / collectivism, face sensitivity, and materialism to explore the types of people who prefer expensive gifts. Results: The interaction effect between gift price and position on the level of appreciation was not significant. Meanwhile the main effect of gift price and of position were significant. The gift-recipient was more appreciative than the gift-givers' expectation regardless of the price of gifts. To investigate individual differences, individualism/collectivism, face sensitivity, and materialism were examined, but none of these variables were significantly related to the preference for expensive gifts. Respondents who received gift certificates in Study 2 were less grateful than those who received iPods or music CDs in Study 1. Conclusions: This study found that Koreans tend to be more grateful if they receive expensive gifts, in contrast to the Flynn and Adams (2009)'s study with Americans. In addition, gift-recipients appreciated more than givers' expectation and were more grateful when they received tangible products rather than gift certificates.

본 연구에서는 기존 인성교육 프로그램들의 한계를 보완하면서 학교 차원의 실천적인 인성교육으로 실시되고 있는 H여자중학교의 '유념 다이어리를 활용한 인성교육 프로그램'의 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 신입 학년 전체 182명을 대상으로 2년 동안 세 번의 시점에 걸쳐 자료가 수집되는 단일 처치집단 사전·사후 설계를 진행하였다. 자료의 유의미한 평균 변화를 살펴보기 위해 반복측정분산분석을 실시한 결과, 본 프로그램은 학생들의 자기통제, 친사회적 행동, 감사의 수준을 유의하게 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 프로그램 시작 후 1년이 지난 시점에 유의한 향상을 보인 것일뿐만 아니라 그로부터 1년이 더 지난 시점에도 지속적인 유의한 향상을 보인 것이었다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제언이 논의되었다.

본 연구의 목적은 『논어』속 공자의 어록 중 자아성찰, 관계의 성찰, 감사와 행복의 성찰, 사회적 성찰은 시대에 따라 다양하게 재해석되며 오늘날에는 어떤 의미를 내포하고 있는지 알아보는 것이다. 자아성찰은 자신의 정체성과 가치, 감정, 생각과 행동에 대해 고찰하는 과정이다. 자신의 문제점을 파악하고 과오를 인정하고, 개선의 기회를 찾아 미래의 방향을 설정할 수 있기에 인간은 성찰을 통하여 성장한다. 공자는 자신의 삶을 끊임없이 성찰하며 성장하는 인격체로서 군자의 삶을 지향하였다. 위에서 제시한 4가지로 분류하여 살펴보았다. 생성형 AI와 공존하는 시대 공자의 성찰적 삶과 가르침은 현대 사회에서 인간 중심적 가치지향, 성숙한 인간관계, 지속적인 사회적 가치실현 면에서 중요한 가치로 인식되며 행복에 대한 성찰은 최선의 삶의 태도이다.

In a challenging era of despair and hope, Helen Keller's story and her work, especially the remarkable journey depicted in "Three Days to See" from her autobiography "The Story of My Life," serve as a deep source of inspiration and wisdom. Her incredible life story reveals the path we should follow and the hope we should embrace. Her story showcases an incredible ability to overcome adversity in the human spirit. It reinforces the idea that even in the darkest moments, one can find the light of hope and resilience. Her story is a testament to the indomitable human will. Furthermore, Helen Keller's narrative often reminds us of the importance of gratitude for gifts and opportunities that are often taken for granted. Her longing for the simplest things, like sight, teaches us to cherish the abilities and privileges we currently possess. When facing contemporary challenges and uncertainties, her story conveys a profound message of unwavering hope and steadfast faith. She encourages us to seize the present moment, value the gifts we have, and embark on the journey of life with patience and hope, even when the path appears difficult. In this paper, we explore the life of Helen Keller and her literary work, emphasizing the importance of patience and hope in the difficult times faced by Koreans today, and we aim to present our attitude towards contributing to the nation's development. We seek to provide methods for preparing for a better and more hopeful future. We assert that we must carry hope and determination for the future and strive for new optimism and hope in Korean society.

Of interest to second language researchers and classroom teachers today is whether and in what wats formal instruction can promote the development of appropriate use of the target language. Most formal instruction is closely related with the use of textbooks in ESL classrooms, so this study focuses on ESL textbooks. In order to learn to communicate successfully, students should use textbooks which specify the rules of language use for the community in which they are operating. This study examines the speech acts of compliment across 8 middle school English textbooks published in Korea. This study analyses the speech acts of compliment according to the following criteria : 1) vocabulary - adjective, verb, intensifier 2) sentence pattern 3) social strategy - invitation to talk, greetings, farewells, expression of gratitude, etc. 4) types of response. As a result of this study some suggestions is giver to promote the development of appropriate use of English through English textbooks.

Machine learning consists of supervised and unsupervised learning among which supervised learning is used for the speech recognition objectives. Supervised learning is the Data mining task of inferring a function from labeled training data. Speech recognition is the current trend that has gained focus over the decades. Most automation technologies use speech and speech recognition for various perspectives. This paper demonstrates an overview of major technological standpoint and gratitude of the elementary development of speech recognition and provides impression method has been developed in every stage of speech recognition using supervised learning. The project will use DNN to recognize speeches using magnitudes with large datasets.

It is a great honour for me to speak to you today on the Korean's problems in learning English pronunciation. First of all I would like to thank Prof. H. B. Lee, President of the Phonetic Society of Korea for calling upon me to make a keynote speech at this International Conference on Phonetic Sciences. The year before last when the 1 st Joint Summit on English Phonetics was held at Aichi Gakuin University in Japan, the warm hospitality given to me and my colleagues by the English Phonetic Society of Japan was so great that I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the English Phonetic Society of Japan and especially to Prof. Masaki Tsuzuki, President of the Society. Korean learners of English have a lot of problems in learning English pronunciation. Some vowel problems seem to be shared by Japanese learners but other problems, especially in consonants, are peculiar to Koreans owing to the nature of phonological rules peculiar to the Korean language. Of course, there are other important problems like speech rhythm and intonation besides vowels and consonants. But they will not be included here because of limited time.

본 연구는 일본 연안에서 채집된 Gastrosaccus vulgaris의 표본을 상세히 관찰하여 이 종이 Archaeomysis속에 속한다는 것을 밝히고, 신모식을 선정, 재기재하고 근사종 Archaeomysis kokuboi와 비교하여 외부형태적 차이를 명백히 서술하였다. 이와 함께 이종의 동종이명관계, 지리적 분포 및 생태에 관해서도 보고하였다.

1974년부터 1979년까지 남한의 주요 하천에서 채집한 기름종개속 어류의 표본을 동정한 결과 Cobbits taenia striata Ikeda, 1936, C. taenia lutheri Rendahl, 1935의 2아종과 C. granoei Rendahl, 1935의 1종이 한국미기록이었으므로 그 형태적 특징을 기재하고 지리적 분포와 검색표에 대하여 보고한다. 이로써 우리나라의 기름종개속 어류는 모두 4종 3아종이 된다.
