  • The computer technology and internet have the potential to provide a highly interactive and powerful learning environment for engineering disciplines. Many academic courses that teach engineering subjects have already begun incorporating virtual instruments as teaching and learning tools. This paper introduces the concept of the virtual instrument and reports some of the LabVIEW software applications in several universities. Finally the paper contemplates the future trends on the remote laboratory via the internet for engineering education.

  • 급속도로 발전한 컴퓨터 환경하에서 사용자는 훨씬 더 편리하고 손쉽게 컴퓨터를 다룰 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 이와 대조적으로 지금까지의 프로그램 개발과정은 프로그래밍 언어의 숙달을 요구함으로서 전문적인 교육을 받은 소수의 프로그래머만이 할 수 있는 분야가 되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 직관적인 사용자 인터페이스를 기반으로 하여 프로그래밍 언어를 모르는 사람들도 자신의 필요에 적합한 프로그램을 직접 작성하여 활용하는데 도움이 되는 시스템의 개발에 필요한 기반기술을 제시하고 구현된 시스템의 전체적인 윤곽을 제시한다.

  • 3D graphics applications require managing and displaying objects as well as handling events. These tasks are quite complex for applications to worry about and are common to many applications. Therefore, many attempts have been made to provide toolkits with these capabilities for those applications. This paper presents a toolkit that is easy to use and well suited for the modeling and rendering tasks. The object-oriented programming techniques used in designing the toolkit make it flexible and easily extensible.

  • The R language is an open source programming language and a software environment for statistical computing and data visualization. The R language is widely used among a lot of statisticians and data scientists to develop statistical software and data analysis. The R language provides a variety of statistical and graphical techniques, including basic descriptive statistics, linear or nonlinear modeling, conventional or advanced statistical tests, time series analysis, clustering, simulation, and others. In this paper, we first introduce the R language and investigate its features as a data analytics tool. As results, we may explore the application possibility of the R language in the field of data analytics.

  • The conventional robot manipulability is decomposed into linear manipulability and angular manipulability so that they may be analysed and visualized in easy way even in the case of 3 dimensional task space with 6 variables. After the Jacobian matrix is decomposed into linear part and angular part, constraint on joint velocities is transformed into linear task velocity and angular task velocity through the decomposed Jacobian matrices. Under the assumption of redundant robot manipulators, several optimization problems which utilize the redundancy are formulated to be solved by linear programming technique or sequential quadratic programming technique. After deriving the solutions of the optimization problems, we give graphical interpretations for the solutions.

  • In vector control technique, stator currents of an induction motor are transformed to equivalent d-q currents in reference frame consist of d and q axis, each of which is coincide with flux and torque direction respectively. In this paper, the new algorithm is suggested where the stator current through an induction motor torque is monitored by using a vector control method where an additional equipment is not need. The G-programming is used to apply the suggested algorithm in the experiment and this is applied to an actual system to monitor the torque value of an induction motor on real time. To solve the vibration trouble of estimated torque caused from an unbalanced real rotating speed of an induction motor and measured rotating speed by suggesting the reconstructed in a method based on measurement current signal. This produced system testifies an accuracy of an induction motor through the experiment by comparing the reference value of the control method.

  • A low complexity, fault detecting computer architecture for utilisation in programmable logic controllers is designed. The cyclic operating mode of PLCs and a specification level, graphical programming paradigm based on the interconnection of application oriented standard software function modules are architecturally supported. Thus, by design, there is no semantic gap between the programming and machine execution levels enabling the safety licensing of application software by an extremely simple, but rigorous method, viz, diverse back translation.

  • This paper is aimed to prose a welding information system which is usable for ship design and production processes. For this work, the welding information related to shipbuilding is analyzed systematically. Database system and object-oriented paradigm are integrated to describe the welding information model of ship structure. Event-driven programming technique and graphical user interface are used to provide the richer interactive environment and the flexibility for the application. Test program is developed to verify the consistency of the created model and to see the effectiveness of the used programming technique.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제(RTOS)를 모듈화 하기 위하여 그래픽 기반의 Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) 프레임워크를 제시한다. 기존의 컴포넌트, 객체 지향 방법론, 그리고 최근의 AOP들은 RTOS와 같이 많은 기능들이 복잡하게 연관된 소프트웨어를 모듈화 하는 데는 적합하지 않았다. 본 논문의 새로운 AOP 프레임워크는 다음과 같은 특징을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 클래스나 메소드의 단위를 넘어서서 구현되는 기능들이 어떻게 aspect로 모듈화 되는지를 시각적으로 보여준다. 또한 기존의 AOP와 같이 여러 aspect들을 이리저리 옮겨 다닐 필요 없이 한 곳에서 코드가 어떤 순서로 수행될 지 알 수 있도록 해 준다. 둘째, 코드를 삽입할 위치를 지정하는 단위를 메소드 단위보다 더 세밀하게 하여 메소드의 수행 중간에 특정 aspect를 위한 코드를 삽입할 수 있도록 하였다. 그래서 하나의 메소드에 여러 aspect가 복잡하게 관여하는 경우가 많은 RTOS를 디자인 할 때 특히 유리하다.
