On-Chip Multiprocessor with Simultaneous Multithreading

  • As more transistors are integrated onto bigger die, an on-chip multiprocessor will become a promising alternative to the superscalar microprocessor that dominates today's microprocessor marketplace. This paper describes key parts of a new on-chip multiprocessor, called Raptor, which is composed of four 2-way superscalar processor cores and one graphic co-processor. To obtain performance characteristics of Raptor, a program-driven simulator and its programming environment were developed. The simulation results showed that Raptor can exploit thread level parallelism effectively and offer a promising architecture for future on-chip multi-processor designs.

  • This paper describes a computer aided process planning system called "Deep-Drawing", "Deep-Drawing" is designed for the drawing sequence of cylindrical and rectangular cups with or without taper and flange. The computer program has written in BASIC language with personal computer. Design Rules for process planning are formulated from process limitation, plasticity theory and experimental results including the know-how of many manufacturing factories. "Deep-Drawing" Capabilities include the analysis of drawing sequence by the determination of optimal drawing ratio, the determination of intermediate shape, dimensions, punch and die radius etc., the calculation of drawing loads and blank holder force to perform each drawing step, and the graphic outputs for the operation sheet.tputs for the operation sheet.

  • With the developing of current multimedia broadcasting, user will be provided for lots of various content through the various channel and media. Content provider and consumer want the various service using content with the better quality which is fit to users' preference. For transmitting this content in the limited transmission channel capacity, it needs to transmit the highly compressed content. The content of 3D mesh model-based on MPEG-4 enables the various content service that provides the lower size and the resonable quality, and Personalize(Targeting) service just provide the contents that user more wants and likes. This paper presents the study on the targeting service using compression of 3D mesh model-based on MPEG-4 and the adaptation of Embedded Graphic application program using it.

  • This study is aimed to analyze present states of computer education in interior design dept. and therefore to offer basic data in order to establish middle and long term plan on computer education. According to results of analysis, computer education course accounts for 10.1 percent in total curriculum. But this component ratio has great difference between university and jumopr college. Namely computer education course of college is much more weighter than that of university. It seems to be results from college's characteristic strategies. But this results to unsuitable curriculum allocation. To solve this problem, further examination of linking computer's course with drafting and drawing course should be required. And to heighten more effect of computer education, other circumstance as well as educational facility should be improved and common CAD laboratory should be produced.

  • In this paper, an analysis on a new robot manipulator developed for the side buffing of the shoes is presented. The robot is composed of five D.O.F. An Analysis on the forward and inverse kinematics was performed. The hardware system including electric wirings, control system, and related system was developed. Also, The teleoperating communication system was developed to shake with other related system Computer programs to track the bonding line of shoes were developed. An user-friendly graphic program was developed using C $^{++}$ language for the users.

  • 높아지는 Graphic Processing Unit (GPU)의 연산 성능과 GPU에서의 범용 프로그래밍을 위한 개발 환경의 개발, 보급으로 인해 GPU를 일반연산에 활용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와같이 일반 연산에 활용되고 있는 GPU로 nVidia Tesla와 AMD/ATI의 FireStream 들이 있다. 특수목적 연산 장치인 GPU를 일반 연산을 위해 프로그래밍하기 위해서는 그에 맞는 프로그램 개발 환경이 필요한데 nVidia에서 개발한 CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) 환경은 자사의 GPU 프로그램 개발을 위해 제공되는 개발 환경이다. CUDA 개발 환경은 nVidia GPU 프로그래밍 뿐만 아니라 차세대 이종 병렬 프로그램 개발 환경의 공개 표준으로 논의되고 있는 OpenCL (Open Computing Language) 와 유사한 특징을 보일 것으로 예상되기 때문에 그 중요성은 특정 GPU 에만 국한되지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 경로 적분 몬테 카를로 (Path Integral Monte Carlo) 방법을 CUDA 개발 환경을 사용하여 nVidia GPU 상에서 병렬화한 결과를 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to design of a linear feeder using a multi body dynamic program, and to analyze a dynamic motion of the feeder that can transport small mechanical parts uniformly. In order to establish the analysis model of the linear feeder, each parts of the feeder are divided into two types which the rigid and flexible body. For the dynamic simulation, RecurDyn, which is a commercial multi-body dynamic package, is used. We also consider the design parameters for optimal dynamic motion such as centroid, stiffness, and mass of the feeder system. In order to analyze the dynamic motion of a linear feeder, the displacements of the feeder are measured by several accelerometers when it is in an operating condition. After the signal data from the accelerometers are captured in the time domain, the dynamic motion in the space is visualized by using graphic computer software.

모음의 포먼트 변형에 따른 인공와우 이식 아동의 청각적 인지변화 (Perception Ability of Synthetic Vowels in Cochlear Implanted Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the acoustic perception different by formants change for profoundly hearing impaired children with cochlear implants. The subjects were 10 children after 15 months of experience with the implant and mean of their chronological age was 8.4 years and Standard deviation was 2.9 years. The ability of auditory perception was assessed using acoustic-synthetic vowels. The acoustic-synthetic vowel was combined with F1, F2, and F3 into a vowel and produced 42 synthetic sound, using Speech GUI(Graphic User Interface) program. The data was deal with clustering analysis and on-line analytical processing for perception ability of acoustic synthetic vowel. The results showed that auditory perception scores of acoustic-synthetic vowels for cochlear implanted children were increased in F2 synthetic vowels compaire to those of F1. And it was found that they perceived the differences of vowels in terms of distance rates between F1 and F2 in specific vowel.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Water Quality Management System(WQMS), which performs calculating pollutant discharge and forecasting water quality with water pollution model. Operational water quality management requires not only controlling pollutants but acquiring and managing exact information. A GIS software, ArcView was used to enter or edit geographic data and attribute data, and MapObject was used to customize the user interface. PCI, a remote sensing software, was used for deriving land cover classification from 20 m resolution SPOT data by image processing. WQMS has two subsystems, Database Subsystem and Modelling subsystem. Database subsystem consisted of watershed data from digital map, remote sensing data, government reports, census data and so on. Modelling subsystem consisted of NSPLM(NonStorm Pollutant Load Model)-SPLM(Storm Pollutant Load Model). It calculates the amount of pollutant and predicts water quality. This two subsystem was connected through graphic display module. This system has been calibrated and verified by applying to Mokhyun stream watershed.

  • The main propulsion system may be the most complicated of the shipboard systems. Many factors such as fuel economy, weight, space, first cost, reliability, vibration and noise must be considered when selecting the prime mover of the main propulsion system for ships. An expert system is a computer program that represents and reasons with knowledge of some specialist subject with a view to solving problems or giving advice. Recently, it is being developed increasingly with wider applications in many industries. This paper describes development of knowledge-based system for main engine selection of ships using general purpose expert system development tool, Nexpert Object. Developed system is consist of ship performance estimation module such as resistance and propulsion, data base for main engine, knowledge base for main engine selection in Nexpert Object and graphic user interface.
