  • In 1963, Graham introduced a problem to find integer partitions such that the reciprocal sum of their parts is 1. Inspired by Graham's work and classical partition identities, we show that there is an integer partition of a sufficiently large integer n such that the reciprocal sum of the parts is 1, while the parts satisfy certain congruence conditions.

  • Since Korea disclaimed to open the ports, Korean architecture has met the impetuous transformation. Although there would be various factors of this transformation, the new-coming architecture by missionary seemed to be a significant one, and many researches have been carried out on this theme in diverse viewpoints. However, because these researches have preponderated on the Catholic tradition, it is deficient for clarify the whole history of mission architecture. Therefore, this research has the meaning to enrich the history of Korean modern architecture by making balance. First of all, this paper is focused on the activities of one missionary, Graham Lee. He is a practical missionary at the beginning, his architecture made a critical influence in Korean traditional architecture. Graham Lee was born in Rock Island, Illinois, 1861, and he determined to become a missionary through grown up. He spent his boyhood by working as a plumber for his purpose and studied in a university afterward. Graduating of McComick Theological Seminary, he was nominated as a pioneer of Pyeng Yang Mission Station and set foot in Korea, September of 1892. Since then he started to erect missionary facilities in Pyeng Yang, such as Well House(1898), Pyeng Yang Central Church(1900-1901), Pyeng Yang Academy(1902). These all his works are designed with eclectic style which shows western and Korean traditional style intermingled. This unique characteristic made a profound influence to the Korean mission architecture afterwards. Especially, the L-type plan of Pyeng Yang Central Church, which is first shown by him, is recognized very unique, and this plan type had been spread all over the country. Therefore the L-type plan became the peculiar feature of the early Korean churches. Furthermore, working with Korean carpenters, he taught them new skills of modem buildings. After that, they were expanded out northern part of Korea and took the roles of master builders. According to this expansion, his particular style had got spread and had been settled as a unique eclectic style in Korean modern architecture. In the conclusion, he is evaluated to be a critical pioneer missionary, who left a big influence on the frame work of Korean modern architecture in the transitional times.

  • We provide some relations between CR invariants of boundaries of strongly pseudoconvex domains and higher order asymptotic behavior of certain complete K$\ddot{a}$hler metrics of given domains. As a consequence, we prove a rigidity theorem of strongly pseudoconvex domains by asymptotic curvature behavior of metrics.

  • In this paper, we present a formula for pseudohermitian curvatures on bounded strictly pseudoconvex domains in ℂ2 with respect to the coefficients of adapted frames given by Graham and Lee in [3] and their structure equations. As an application, we will show that the pseudohermitian curvatures on strictly plurisubharmonic exhaustions of Thullen domains diverges when the points converge to a weakly pseudoconvex boundary point of the domain.

  • There are several factors influencing post-operative mortality in Tetralogy of Fallot, such as degree of RV outflow tract obstruction, combined anomaly, and age of the patient. Another factor is preoperative left ventricular volume reported by Kirklin and Graham in 1978. From March to September, 1984, 10 patient with Tetralogy of Fallot have been taken biplane cinecardioangiography [LAO and RAO projection] for measuring left ventricular volume by area-length method. The mean age of the patients was 84.9 [S.D.] and 3 males and 7 females were there. Mean value of left ventricle was 62.9ml/m2, which was no statistically difference from normal value. [p value=0.08]. In conclusion, though this study suggests that there is some decrease of left ventricular end-diastolic volume in Tetralogy of Fallot preoperatively as compared with normal individuals, further evaluation is needed to make it confirmatory with more number of patients and lesser range of age of the patients submitted to the study.

  • This paper describes prediction results of penetration rate using case history in order to compare empirical models for penetration rate prediction of TBM. The reasonable empirical model is evaluated by comparison with prediction results and measured result. The penetration rate prediction is applied in separate empirical models considering rock characteristics and mechanical characteristics of TBM. The rock of applied filed had almost gneiss and its unconfined compressive strength was irregular due to the exist of weak zones and joint. In prediction results using unconfined compressive strength, Graham's model (1976) had impractical result when it had lower strength. NTNU model (1998) of the separate empirical models used in average penetration rate had the highest accuracy by comparison with the others, because it is a reasonable model which has rock characteristics and mechanical characteristics of TBM. However, Tarkoy's model (1986) based on unconfined compressive strength correspond with the measured values in field. Therefore, it should be considered a rock type, geological characteristic and mechanical characteristic of TBM at prediction of penetration rate.

  • Fraud and corruption is a problem that undermines the credibility and integrity of all sport. It affects fans, owners, shareholders, officials, and players. With the recent scandal in the K-League in Korea, the importance of maintaining the integrity of Korean football is presently of great importance. While other European or Asian football leagues have been plagued with fraud and corruption, Korea has maintained its professional sporting integrity successfully until recent times. This paper is an examination as to why players in the K-League succumbed to match- fixing in 2011. Firstly, we discuss the important role of sport in Korea, which is not to be underestimated. Secondly, we briefly illustrate the range and types of fraud and corruption in international football. Thirdly, we focus on the match-fixing and gambling scandal currently engulfing the K-League. Fourthly, we make some practical suggestions on how to combat and increase resilience to fraud and corruption in football. Finally, in the conclusion, we suggest that much needs to be done to reduce the incident of fraud and corruption in football worldwide, particularly through employing a clear counter fraud strategy.

  • Palemagnetic study on the Deadong Super Group in the Mungyong area has been carried out to obtain the direction of NRM and virtual geomagnetic pole(VGP), and to investigate geomagnetic stratigraphy and geotectonic evolution. Twenty eight core specimens from five sites in Dangog and Bongmyongsan Formations yield magnetically stable results by thermal demagnetization test. Mean declination and inclination of Dangog and Bongmyongsan formations are $52.4^{\circ}E$ and $-57.3^{\circ}$, respectively, which indicate reversal polarity. VGP is located at $1.2^{\circ}N$ in latitude and $269.4^{\circ}E$ in longitude, which is quite different from those of other contemporary formations in China. This suggests that the study area has suffered from differnt tectonic movement caused by Daebo Orogeny occurred in the Korean Peninsula during post-Daedong and pre-Kyongsang Systems. As compared VGP of Daedong Super Group in the Mungyong area with wordwide Mesozoic paleomagnetic polarity stratigraphy, it is correlated with the reverse Epoch in the Graham normal interval. This suggests that the time of formations of Dangog and Bongmyongsan is in the age of 190-195 my.
