  • In this paper, we collect and analyze the status of mobile phone applications (hereafter apps) in the healthcare and fitness category of the Apple iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. We determine the number of apps and analyze statistical aspects such as classifications, age rating, fees, and user evaluation of the popular items. As of September 30, 2013, there were 236 popular apps available from iTunes. Google Play offered 720 apps. We discover that apps for healthcare and fitness are diverse. Apps for physical exercise have the greatest popularity. The proportions of apps that are suitable for all ages among the Google and iTunes popular apps are 55.8% and 89.4%, respectively. The user evaluation of apps in iTunes is relatively less positive. We determine that the proportion of paid apps to free apps in Google is higher than that of the apps in iTunes. We perform hypothesis tests and find statistically significant differences in age rating and perceived satisfaction between the apps of the Apple iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. However, we find no meaningful differences in the classification and price of the apps between the two app stores. We perform hypothesis tests to verify the differences in age rating and perceived satisfaction between the paid and free apps within and across the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store. There are statistically significant differences in the age rating between the paid and free apps in the Google play store, between the Google free and iTunes free apps, between the Google paid and iTunes paid apps, between the Google free and iTunes paid apps, and between the Google paid and iTunes free apps. There are statistically significant differences in the perceived satisfaction between the Google free and iTunes free apps, between the Google paid and iTunes paid apps, between the Google free and iTunes paid apps, and between the Google paid and iTunes free apps.

  • Google Trends provides weekly information on keyword search frequency on the Google search engine. Search volume patterns for the search keyword can also be analyzed based on category and by the location of those making the search. Also, Google provides “Hot searches” and “Top charts” including top and rising searches that include the search keyword. All this information is kept up to date, and allows trend comparisons by providing past weekly figures. In this study, we present a predictive model for TV markets using the searched data in Google search engine (Google Trend data). Using a predictive model for the market and analysis of the Google Trend data, we obtained an efficient and meaningful result for the TV market, and also determined highly ranked countries and cities. This method can provide very useful information for TV manufacturers and others.

  • We forecast the US oil consumption level taking advantage of google trends. The google trends are the search volumes of the specific search terms that people search on google. We focus on whether proper selection of google trend terms leads to an improvement in forecast performance for oil consumption. As the forecast models, we consider the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and the structured regularization method for large vector autoregressive (VAR-L) model of Nicholson et al. (2017), which select automatically the google trend terms and the lags of the predictors. An out-of-sample forecast comparison reveals that reducing the high dimensional google trend data set to a low-dimensional data set by the LASSO and the VAR-L models produces better forecast performance for oil consumption compared to the frequently-used forecast models such as the autoregressive model, the autoregressive distributed lag model and the vector error correction model.

  • Many new challenges in different sectors have emerged due to societal growth, and researchers are needed to help solve them; and Google Scholar is a tool to assist researchers in doing so. The goal of this study is to figure out what characteristics influence how effective the Google Scholar tool is for Vietnamese university students. The study focuses on analyzing and explaining the interplay between the independent variables Perceived of Google Scholar, Perceived ease of use, Comprehensiveness and subjective norm, Perceived Satisfaction for the dependent variable Perception of usefulness. The study was carried out using quantitative and qualitative methods with 280 data points collected online through the survey link. The methods used to test the scale such as Cronbach alpha, CFA, SEM, One sample T-test, Independent Sample T-test, and One-way Anova are used to find the correlation between factors such as gender, Age, and Majors that affect the students' perception of the usefulness of google scholar. The results show that all the factors suggested in the model have a significant impact on the perceived usefulness of Google scholar. Furthermore, research shows that Google Scholar is an important academic search engine for Vietnamese students.

  • These days, we can't confirm cadastre information about stereoscopic digital map that was consist of 2 dimensions and more difficult to understand of detailed parcel boundary, area, land using for 3 dimensions. An each local government providing three-dimensional that are connected to an aerial photograph with cadastre maps. Satisfaction is high for citizens but, this service additional cost for purchase of an aerial photograph order to provide of it. So far, in various ways are under study about three dimensions using Google Earth which is possible to provides 3 dimensional information by real time for individual parcel situation. The purpose of this study was analyzed an accuracy of overlapping between cadstre maps and an image on Google Earth Web in the each different coordinates system. Also, this paper could be provided for use possibility of 3 dimensions information service with an indicator of using or a guideline of direction for local government which provide 3 dimensions information oneday.

  • Google cloud includes data uploaded and synchronized by users, as well as synchronization history of all cloud services, users' smartphone usage, and location information. Therefore, Google cloud data can be useful for digital forensics from a user behavior analysis perspective. Through this paper, we have identified the types of cloud data that can be acquired using Google's Takeout service and developed a tool that can be usefully utilized in digital forensics research and investigation by screening and analyzing the data required for analyzing user behavior. Because Google cloud data is synchronized through Google accounts regardless of the type of computing device, Google service data used on various devices such as PCs, smartphones, and tablet PCs can be acquired through Google accounts without the device. Therefore, the results of this paper's research are expected to be very useful for digital forensics research and investigation in the current situation.
