  • Under 2009 Revised Mathematics Curriculum and 2015 Revised Mathematics Curriculum, mathematics teachers can help students inductively express real life problems related to sequences but have difficulties in dealing with problems asking the general terms of the sequences defined inductively due to 'Guidelines for Teaching and Learning'. Because most of textbooks mainly deal with the simple calculation for the sums of sequences, students tend to follow them rather than developing their inductive and deductive reasoning through finding patterns in the sequences. In this study, we reconstruct 8 problems to find the sums of sequences in MukSaJipSanBup which is known as one of the oldest mathematics book of Chosun Dynasty, using the terminology and symbols of the current curriculum. Such kind of problems can be given in textbooks and used for teaching and learning. Using problems in mathematical books of Chosun Dynasty with suitable modifications for teaching and learning is a good method which not only help students feel the usefulness of mathematics but also learn the cultural value of our traditional mathematics and have the pride for it.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate practical problem-based Home Economics lesson plans applying to the multiple intelligence teaching learning strategy, focused on the unit 'Nutrition & Meals' of middle school Home Economics subject matter. To achieve this purpose, the lesson plans were developed and evaluated from the 72 middle school students in Chongju after implementing the instruction. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 12.0 and content analysis. The results were as follows: First, the objectives of practical problem-based 'Nutrition & Meals' Instruction using multiple intelligence teaching strategy were to understand the importance of nutrition and health in an adolescent period and to develop good eating habits. The Practical Problem was 'What should I do for good eating habits?' and the learning contents were healthy life, the kinds and functions of nutriments, food pyramid and a food guide. The learning activities were progressed by various types of teaching and learning methods including 8 types of multiple intelligence teaching strategy. The lesson plans were developed according to the process of practical problem solving model. 6 periods of lesson plans and worksheets were developed. Second, the practical problem-based instruction using multiple intelligence teaching-learning strategy were evaluated to increase students' positive learning attitudes, motivation, and good eating habits.

  • In teaching statistics, the part which is very important but difficult to understand to the students is estimation and hypothesis testing. This paper introduces the developed program about estimation and hypothesis testing by using Excel Macro. This program will help learners to study and use a statistical inference conveniently, and to get a good learning effect.

  • Purpose: This study is undertaken from the standpoint of student-centered learning and theoretical paradigms that have developed in the business world and display conceptual affinities: the transfer of knowledge and training. Research design, data and methodology: Utilizing questionnaire surveys and multivariate data analysis are two research methodologies (CFA, SEM). Around 201 undergraduate students who were studying in Vietnam provided the data. Results: The results show importance of the faculty role in students' knowledge acquisition. The findings show that Ability to form a good relationship positively influences the development of competence. Additionally, neither ability to develop a good relationship nor learning drive or knowledge acquisition are significantly correlated with one another. The growth of competencies is positively impacted by the suitability of teaching approaches. Knowledge acquisition is favorably impacted by learning motivation, and knowledge acquisition in turn is positively impacted by competence development. Conclusions: Research has shown the important role of lecturers in students' knowledge acquisition. From this result, some implications related to lecturers are also given to help improve students' ability to acquire knowledge. Building good relationships with students (ready to answer questions, positive relationships) and good expertise will help increase learning motivation, ability to acquire knowledge as well as improve development for students.

  • This study investigated the effects of the project approach in science teaching on scientific knowledge and attitudes, science related attitudes of the 6th grade students. Students engaged in the study were divided into comparison group and experimental group. The project approach was applied to the experimental group with various activities while the traditional teaching method was applied to the comparison group with science text book and teacher's guidebook. The data were statistically analysed by SPSS WIN 8.0. The results are as follows: The students of the project approach in science teaching made significant progress in scientific knowledge and attitudes, science related attitudes (p<.05). The students in the project approach was more effective in improvement of curiosity, critical thinking, positive thinking than the traditional teaching method. And the project approach was good for causing interest and helping student's science learning.

  • This paper compares and contrasts the perspectives of effective mathematics teaching by 135 elementary school teachers, 132 middle school teachers, and 124 high school teachers using a questionnaire in South Korea. All groups of teachers chose in common the teaching and learning strand as the most important for effective mathematics instruction. However, elementary school teachers placed greater importance on the curriculum and content strand than their counterparts did. Elementary school teachers tended to agree more upon the 48 items related to good mathematics teaching than their counterparts did. The similarities and differences among the groups of teachers are expected to provoke discussion of what constitutes high-quality mathematics instruction and how such perspectives may be situated in the socio-cultural context.

  • The Information-Oriented Society that we live in today has given lots of conveniences whereas it has serve problems and even is becoming social problems. These problems can have much worse influence to the little children who are immature. This research developed the new teaching-learning programs that can improve the learner's information communication ethical with theme-based integrated learning by analyzing present information communication curriculums. In addition, we apply the teaching-learning programs to the elementary school and analyzed the effects. As the result of this study, It is appeared that theme-based integrated learning for information communication ethical education gives good effects on information communication ethics improvement.

  • Advanced internet service and smart equipment have caused an environment supporting various online learning anytime and anywhere, which requires learning contents optimized on a new media. Among various on/off line education related to IT, most part if it is office SW. Many oh them cannot make a good education for effective training in practical because many instructors are tend to focus on teaching simple function and use examples of formality repeatedly. In this paper we propose a new office SW education system that make use of LET(Live EduTainer) based on RTE(Real Training Environment) which maximize the effect of learning and it is integrated with GBL(Game Based Learning) which gives rise to interesting in a knowledge as well as simple teaching so that learners are absorbed on it. We'll elaborate a method for teaching and learning required in this system, design and configuration of the system.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of problem-based learning(PBL) of information communication ethics on the problem-solving skills of fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students about information communication ethics and their attitude. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the PBL-based teaching materials for information communication ethics could serve to stir up the interest of students by letting them face problem situations caused by the disfunction of the information society. Second, a wide variety of teaching-learning activities including cooperative learning and discussion were implemented while the selected students performed the given problem-solving tasks, and the activities had a very good effect on PBL-based information communication ethics education. Third, PBL-based information communication ethics education could be one of effective ways to boost not only the problem-solving skills of students but the teaching interest and capability of teachers.

  • In the last few decades there has been much interest in how mathematics can be effectively taught and learnt. The Third Wave is a unique ongoing international collaborative mathematics education research project, which aims to explore the relevant values of effective school mathematics teaching from both the teacher and student perspectives. As part of this project, this study investigates the related findings from students on the Chinese mainland. Multiple data were collected through classroom observations, focus group interviews, and written, open-ended questions. Twenty-four students from junior and senior secondary schools were invited to write down their views on an effective lesson, a good mathematics teacher, and how to do well in mathematics learning. Results showed that among the eight values determined in the study, the values of involvement, explanation, and examples were embraced by students across all grades. Students preferred teacher-led mathematics teaching. Junior secondary students placed more value on teachers' personalities, whereas senior students placed more value on teachers' teaching manners.
